This is just bait...
Questions make for a good discussion starter, you know, but that's fine, I had my own prepared before I got sniped.>General questionWhat are your favorite characters in the quests you read? What makes them appeal to you?>QM questionWhat is the worst consequence you've thrown on your players? Did you regret it or did it make things more interesting?>Player questionWhat do you want to see more of in a quest/s you're following? Not just "more" obviously, but something in particular that could be expanded upon or developed. QMs like to know what you like!
>>4813990I want to see 12 year old Joffrey Baratheon dick down his own mother Cersei in Joffrey quest, but TrickQM has proved resistant to go there so far. Also fuck more qtpies, maybe Catelyn or Sansa.
>>4813990make your own thread with a better image and we can have a cross thread bait war, Op already fucked up
>>4813990>General questionMy favourite characters are those ones that you can feel have just lived the world they are in and that you could drop out at some point and come back to them doing something completely different and go “yeah I could see X doing that”>Player questionI want a sequel be it spiritual or actual to the old Crusader quest, I wouldn’t really mind if the original MC and his family got dropped or you played as their descendants or something their was just something magical about it that has never quite quelled the embers of tism in me
>>4813997I thought he did that a couple threads back, on Mother's Day, in a really cringey meta-post?
>>4813990>What are your favorite characters in the quests you read? What makes them appeal to you?I like characters that respond realistically and don't just cater to the whims and fantasies of the player, or exist as flat obstacles. Or really sexy ones if it's a goofier quest, that's fine too>What is the worst consequence you've thrown on your players? Did you regret it or did it make things more interesting? The main character might get raped and/or tortured if things keep up as they are right now in terms of rolls. Maybe even killed, but I'm hesitant to end the quest abruptly with a single combat.>What do you want to see more of in a quest/s you're following? Not just "more" obviously, but something in particular that could be expanded upon or developed.More faction politics, more gradual accumulation of abilities, more interesting waifu-bait where applicable. But honestly, most any campaign play includes at least a fair amount of at least one of these--I'd just like to see more quests cater to my personal tastes. Who doesn't?More unique, uncommon hooks would be good, too. And less flaking!
>>4813990>What are your favorite characters in the quests you read? What makes them appeal to you?My obvious would be the main characters of each, but that's a little boring so I'll go the next step to npcs.Royal Rumble: Gustoff, because he's a total bro and looks out for us all the time, even when he gets angryBones Quest: Mitzi, because despite her joking and sarcasm, she's one of the only people that doesn't belittle Stan in some way for her low intelligence, and can be surprisingly patient.Gnoll Quest: A little difficult since the newest thread took a while to come around, so all the side characters aren't exactly fresh in my mind since in the latest thread we're in a place without any real allies. I do like Anu and hope we get future chances to speak with him, he seemed pretty based.>What is the worst consequence you've thrown on your players? Did you regret it, or did it make things more interesting? This answer is pretty obvious to anyone playing, but at the end of last thread the players lost an arm. The enemy announced he was about to use his strongest attack and gave them a chance to run, they stood their ground. After they failed the dodge roll, I gave them a chance to spend a limited resource to successfully dodge the attacks, they declined.I don't outline these things to insult my players choices, in fact I think they made things much more interesting- but I'm a firm believer in telegraphed consequences and following through. I don't like when something horrible happens just because of one bad die roll (though I understand when it does and can live with it), but I DO believe that if the danger was properly foreshadowed/warned, and especially if the players had an option to deal with it they didn't take, that it's imperative to follow through. Not only so they realize their actions have consequences, but because it often makes things more interesting. Already they're working on researching and gathering funds to build a cool ass Sekiro/Guts style prosthetic, but it's gonna take them some time.>What do you want to see more of in a quest/s you're following? Not just "more" obviously, but something in particular that could be expanded upon or developed.Usually I say character development/dialogue, but the three quests I'm following right now all do a pretty good job of that, so I'll be specific to each (just minor nitpicks).Bones Quest: A little more info on the area around us and the setting. Characters and backstories have been well developed, action is fun, but I'm curious about the world.Royal Rumble: More small moments. I understand why they're few and far between, but they add a lot for me personally.Gnoll Quest: It makes sense giving the setting and story why so many npcs hate us, but it would be nice to be tossed at least one or two bro characters we could fall back on aside from just Daitza, ESPECIALLY in the dwarf fortress. Maybe a chance to speak with the goblin or kobold more later.
>>4814099>The main character might get raped and/or tortured if things keep up as they are right now in terms of rolls. What quest are you running? I swear I'll be a loyal reader until the end if this is true.>>4814076No, it just faded to black after the first two lines where Cersei kisses back. The rest of the post is ostensibly Joffrey (but really Trick himself) giving a sermon to Fatefags about how this is completely okay and totally not incest. As if I care about any of that! Just give me the smut.
>>4814123This his hilarious, but I can't be bothered to go looking. Do you have a backlink, or an approximate date, anon?
>>4813990Thanks for taking the initiative, anon!>General questionLego Quest: Jake Starcrash, obviously--really like the semi-pulp feel of it all and he also managed to get some interesting development in the last thread.A Herald's Journey: Herald, obv--he's developed quite a bit from the first thread and manages to have his own unique personality despite mainly looking like a nameless rank and file knight dude.Trust a Goblin: Mike. Still catching up, but I really dig Centerfield's writing and art--his characters are fun to hear talk and have a surprising amount of depth for what I assumed to be a one-off quest. >QM questionPlayers decided to toss a grenade a few threads ago and rolled pretty poorly, so instead of getting fully caught in the blast a side character played hero and pushed the protag out of the way. The roll after to avoid being gunned down by skeletons was a crit fail, so when one of the skeletons whipped out a grenade of their own and rushed the protag, the side character grabbed it and sacrificed themselves to save the protag.I think if anything I regret it MECHANICALLY rather than PLOTWISE--people argue that said side character wouldn't have done that, but I'm a firm believer in trying to write characters that don't always follow the logical process. Mechanically, though, I do feel bad about jumping to that type of consequence after a bad roll followed by a crit--Bones Quest isn't exactly numbers-heavy, so sometimes determining appropriate consequences isn't the easiest thing to do. I feel like narrative-wise it made things a bit more interesting. The team dynamic changed a bit and there's definitely some issues to address now, but naturally no one can address them yet because they're all in an exploding lab with goo skeletons trying to kill them. So it goes!>Player questionNot really sure, to be honest.

>>4814217*Governor Damn, Can't even write it right. I am hopeless.
I wonder if Bighat QM lurks here? Any chance of a return of Witches Mark this month?
I used to run Station Management Quest. Recently I thought about picking up where I left but got discouraged after browsing the archives. Just seems to me that quest sucked, hard. Anyone remembers ? Anyone gives a shit?
>>4814123>What quest are you running?Reptilian Infiltrator Quest, but keep in mind that--while it can get lewd and/or edgy, it's not a porn-quest. Apart from brief allusions to the type of sex-act occurring and reasons the main character enjoys or doesn't enjoy it, how it affects her feelings about herself and the people involved... I don't really get granular or detailed about what's happening. If you're looking to read straight-up smut, you'll be disappointed.
>>4813990>What are your favorite characters in the quests you read? What makes them appeal to you?I like zany stuff. Boring people bore me, even in writing, but there are ways to write a boring person to be interesting. But to answer the question, I like characters with a spin on them. Something that sets them apart, and an in-depth look at it, whether it's a mindset, a situation, physical ability or limitation, etc. Wow, that was a bad answer. Next question. >What is the worst consequence you've thrown on your players? Did you regret it or did it make things more interesting?I'm new to running quests so I don't have a ton of experience. Probably the worst consequence was losing our first wrestling match in my previous quest. That one went down fine. This question makes me ponder if I should get nastier with the consequences and the randomness/thresholds for which bad things happen to my players. A non-stop string of minor-to-medium awful events happen to our hobo main character in Hobo's Epic. He finds his confidence again and again, though, whether he has to pick himself and his brand new clothes up out of a scummy puddle, run away from or confront New York's many factions of psychos, or spray feces all over a greedy shopkeep's stall in retribution. Nothing is stopping him, he WILL find out what happened to Nick Miller.>What do you want to see more of in a quest/s you're following? I suppose seeing more side-talk and in-thread discussions would be fun, so threads don't just read off as "Prompt - Command - Prompt - Command - Prompt - Command". >>4814466>>4814466Yeah, I figure the worst thing in Hobo's Epic so far kind of happens immediately, you're a hobo waking up in piss on top of garbage cans in NYC. That sounds downright hardcore and nigh-indirigible. That wasn't really a player consequence, though, just exposition. Some of the crazies chasing our lovable tramp clearly showed intent to do harm, and that is pretty awful, but some were just kinda... weird. And it seems we successfully avoided all of them! >>4813990>GeneralGoing with non-MCs, since MCs are something else. In no particular order;StV: Brother Rousseau. Interesting redemption arc, ties back into first thread and joins it to Emile's journey well. Surprisingly emotive for someone who's sworn to silence.BC2230 A.D.: A bit too early to tell, but I do like Crane's interactions with Natalya. Hopefully the two of them don't get got by the Savis.Drowned: Probably Ellery or Madrigal. I'm a sucker for weirdness magnets, and Maddy has fun interactions with Charlotte, when she isn't threatening us with violence. Or conducting violence either. Game night never-ever.Swamp Lord Quest: Cailm. Not even close, that horrible lecher reminds me of one of my good friends that moved away.L5R Chanbara: Probably Yoshi. I like that archetype of monks who are retired samurai, returning for one more chance at redemption.A Herald's Journey: Haven't caught up all the way yet, but Barret is a bro through and through.Still waiting on a few more to start up again, but I've got enough to keep me busy for a while yet.>QM Question. One critfail occurred so far in each of my quests. Into The Wilderness had it while preparing the totem (the whole purpose of why the MC went innawoods), almost ruining nearly two and a half weeks of work when they burnt their fortune and managed to salvage it. Rolls in order were 99, 100, and 73 versus a roll-under DC of 80. Don't regret it, shit happens, even when you do everything right. Would have been an auto-pass if they put it off until the morning, fyi. Can't let them know that while they're deciding though, that'd be gaming the system instead of picking their own path.Open Roads had it occur while trying to get more information on a potential deal on wool. Pissed off a toady for a rival house, and wound up in a duel. Again, shit happens. They also brought their retainer who has a tendency to piss people off, and tried to be a bit sneaky in their info-gathering. At least it didn't happen in the following duel, or else there might be a bit of an issue getting the good to Jironth with a sword slash to the throat.>Player questionIntrigue is interesting, even though I'm shit at it. Plus: Nyeuu probably wouldn't go for adultery, and Garlend has a bunch of other marriage prospects that are more broadly waifu-able and strategic. It was ultimately just an amusing gag.

So it's been a while now, what's the general opinion of people that were around in the before times on whether the /tg/-/qst/ split was a good idea?I imagine the result was lower average quality, more difficulty for good quality quests to get attention, and a more stagnant playerbase. But I also stopped paying attention like four years ago so I could be surprised.

>>4815848Anti questers will say it was a good thing, questers will say it was a bad thing.I no longer have an opinion as reconciliation is impossible outside higher authority of mods who likely don’t care any more than they have too.
>>4815848my slowass one update a day quests wouldn't survive on /tg/
>>4815922How it was ever a good thing? As >>4815938 pointed out, /tg/ is too fast for the slower quests, so only mega-popular/spammy quests survive and block the view from other threads as well.
>>4815810Quests that end properly and not just ghost after a while or never come back after a break.
>>4815848It has both postives and negatives, personally I enjoy the slower pace of the board in general which would have been impossible on /tg/, however it wouldn't be a stretch to call the board near dead and a lot of amazing stuff (Hunter X Hunter quest especially) fails to get noticed. At the end of day any opinion is irrelevant and the change will last until this website finally dies.
>>4815848I think it was unnecessary at the time, since the quests did not really take up all that much space on the board.I think the emotions surrounding the split soured the idea to the point where many good QMs ended up abandoning their quests which is a shame for the questers. I do hope the QMs at least are better off now.Ultimately the slowness of the board enables slow writing quests like >>4815938 to keep a thread going and while some complain about slow pace of the board, I think it's one of the good outcomes here.
>>4815952Civilization games and doodle-quests do better rin that environment, arguably. Still, she much as the split was a bad idea at the time, you're right that it DID allow other genres to flourish.

In general they've been opting to play the main character very safe/by the book, so they've turned down most of the options that would have lead to larger issues. I might get a little harsher in the next thread, but I think the current rhythm of successes/failures is pretty balanced so far>Player questionI just want the few quests that I read to actually reach a conclusion. I've made a lot of OPs in the past but now I prefer to draw OPs if I make them, and even though I don't think any of them look good in hindsight the idea is to sort of "inspire" by laying out a potential story in the title image of a thread about discussing stories. You're a symbiotic suit of armor created by whomstever for whatever and it's your quest to figure out what Hero needs to wear you. I thought of this in one minute four minutes ago. Deal or death.
>>4816466>it's your quest to figure out who you need to find in order to do something for some reasonI think it is extremely important that you know what your objectives are right away while leaving the uncertain component able to be acted upon in ways besides wandering around waiting for something to guide you. Say, for example, you still need to figure out which Hero must bear this fated armor that also happens to be your being, but you don't have all the time in the world to do it because the Demon Rape God's Avatar is coming and if you don't have your shit together the entire world is figuratively and literally fucked. So you have a motivating factor to give a swift kick in the rear dissuading fucking around not knowing what to do or why.

Let's talk about update art and possible mediums for GM expression in quests. For instance, we have the coveted drawquests- where every or most updates are drawn fully. (In this context, we are also saying 3d model posing, machinima, figure photography and so on are all "drawquests" in this context) Then we have the less common map or overview quest, where each update may have a dungeon crawling map or character sheet attached to it, but requires less time, skill, and energy to upload then a full-on drawquest. While I personally don't know any quests in this style; a picture-update drawquest is something like a relevant picture is posted every update; but instead of using random filler pictures from various or related media, it's drawn. This would feel a little more soulful and hand-crafted then using filler pictures from the web. Finally, the text-only update. This one needs no introduction, since a lot of quests use this already. I personally find them boring, and unreadable, but this isn't meant to be an scathing insult to the various non-drawquest QMs on here.So on a level of artistic expression, quality, and audience engagement we could roughly organize this on a scale of 1 to 10, with a full drawquest (with good art especially) being like a 10 and a all-text quest being like a 1. Is there any ideas for images/update art that I missed? I'm asking specifically for something in the 8 to 9 range of engagement here that isn't quite as time consuming as a full on drawquest. The only ideas I have for this would be something like a VN- characters drawn in various poses and with static backgrounds, using transparency so they can be moved to various poses or expressions as the story demands it. However, this might actually be slower to set up then just doing quick sketches with simple character designs, which in turn will grant more benefit from having more flexibility in how they are drawn. I'm curious to see people's take on this.
>>4820003You might just have ADHD.
>>4820003Just post a relevant picture in addition to the text update. A pic of one of the characters in the update, if there's a fight then a pic of a fight, if you're describing an environment then a pic of a similar environment, things like that. It helps readers picture the thing happening in the update or the characters involved. If it's an already existing IP, you have tons of pictures to work with. If it's an original IP, you can still find similar pictures on Pinterest and ArtStation
>>4820003Are you dyslexic? Why can't you read words?
>>4820013I use pictures just to break the endless walls of text and make the thread easier to jump around with them as visual markers.
>>4819545To be fair it's a lot more creativity than "hey here's a picture. pick something i dunno man"

>>4820003I think I get where you're coming from, and I agree with the sentiment that more good, relevant sensory stuff makes for a more engaging experience.>the text-only update>I personally find them (sic) unreadablekek>pictures from various or related mediaYeah, they can be pretty soulless, I'm guilty of this one. But in your own words, someone like you is more likely to check out ANY update that has an image attached over a text-only update. >artistic expression, quality, and audience engagementJust because it's a 'drawquest' or draw update doesn't guarantee it'll excel in any of those things, though. And on that scale, text-only updates certainly don't default at a 1 in those departments. Especially if you are a whiz with formatting and structuring your writing. Some people can literally write a single sentence and give you a more vivid mental picture than an actual picture. >However, this might actually be slower to set upTo draw quality/high-effort stuff to go with a quest? It might take as long or 10x the amount of time the writing takes. It's kind of like making a comic book/illustrated create-your-own-adventure book. It gets time consuming, quick. Not all people have time or talent to draw/create other media to enhance a story/quest. It would be cool to explore other forms, like vocaroo/voice recordings for quests, and I dunno... Other stuff.

>>4820646its filled with coomers, the ui is confusing, you can samefag pretty easy and its hard to know when and its bloated with half assed quests its so bad that most authors move on from quest to a newer quest constantly. In here the chat part is much cleaner and organized
>>4820646Akun is full of unrepentant coomers, the UI sucks and I have it on good authority that quests get low traffic if they have no smut, so there's not even the advantage of playerbase. I also like how the posting function (vs chat) allows for more thought-out discussion.

Okay, I hope this post doesn't come out as too bitchy, but I want some insight. I'm enjoying writing my new quest (>>4812638),but it didn't grab much attention. Now, I see that most slower quests seem to gravitate towards a few regular repliers + random replies from others over time, but this has had the same pace in terms of replies since beginning. I guess my OP pic is to blame for at least partly, as it was an afterthought and something I had to search when I was just about to post. But is that all? I think I've had a reasonable update pace considering the post length. But should it be less text more often? I know nobody is entitled for replies and I'm having too much fun while writing to quit or radically change my style as long as there's even one anon playing, but it would be nice to know for the future how to improve things.
>>4820978eh, most anons are afraid to get invested cuz most qms end up bailing. that being said, you should include more POC in your quest and make females somewhat dominant

A rule of thumb with using other cultures in any capacity is to stay as far away from Californian pandering practices as humanly possible. There's a lot of great inspiration scattered around in the history and mythologies of other cultures that often goes underutilized. Don't make the mistake of using cultures that are still around either, there's so many fascinating countries that have been lost to the mists of time. When are we going to get a good Mesopotamian or Khmer quest? I can't be the only guy who's a fan of Scythia here.

If anything (it's too late now, and I don't really care one way or another, i check out most quests) maybe a more unique or eye-grabbing picture, (already discussed) as well as a more unique quest name. One thing I noticed, half of the quests on /qst/ have "Quest" in the name, and I don't think it's doing anyone any favors. And as other people say, I think there is a lot of hesitation in players starting fantasy quests especially because of their now-expected QM abandonment. Picking a tripcode/QM name COULD show to people that you are that guy, with those writing abilities, who follows through (or not) with his quests. Cheers.

>>4823892>How much system and mechanics is too much? The players shouldn't have to simulate your system in their head. Their input should be decisive yet broad, easy to understand. In short, they shouldn't have to add up many numbers or factors, they should be able to declare "I want to do this" and not have many steps in how they do that. This is different for skirmishes and other things that are more games than stories, of course, but if you're tossing a twenty page rulebook in front of people that's too much. The ideal is decisive choices that have easy to comprehend effect.>When does it become a mess for players to follow a story, background, mechanics and etc?Stories naturally develop over time, it's part of how they even continue. People who can't keep up with a story's setting and characters expanding over its course should probably find a new hobby, like huffing glue. That said, front loading all the setting and character details is heavily detrimental to pacing. Fluff is less a matter of how much, and more how you space it out, and if it's actually relevant, or will be relevant in the future.>How much investment is needed for players in your opinion? This is too subjective to give an actual answer to. The only definite answer is "yes," but another way of looking at it is that nobody who shows up to a baseball field with a bat and a glove is going to turn down playing ball.

Hey, I figure this is the closest board to a /writing/ one, and this is the general discussion thread for it. I'd love to write a quest or two, but I'd first like to write a few contained stories to improve. Any and all authors here, how did you improve? Just putting pen to paper, or are there any specific resources or works you'd recommend for the aspiring author? Thanks lads, I appreciate any feedback.
>>4824233>Any and all """""""""authors"""""""" here, how did you improve? Just putting pen to paper, or are there any specific resources or works you'd recommend for the aspiring author? Practice makes perfect, but especially practice with feedback. Peer review helps you see mistakes that you may be blind to. Reading guides and style books is pretty much peer review in a way, but you have to apply it to your work instead of it being applied by another person. You can't be afraid of failure. You're going to fuck up, you're going to make a decision you retroactively hate, you're going to look back on your old work and despise it. Don't sweat it, just take it all as lessons learned. Nobody ever built a castle out of a single stone.
>>4824251Are there any guides you'd recommend above all else?
>>4824262>Are there any guides you'd recommend above all else?Frankly, no, because I don't have nearly enough knowledge of them to make a proper recommendation. I'd advise against doing what I've done, which is putting long form review videos on as background noise while doing something else. What I *would* advise doing however is looking at writing/movies/pornographic japanese cartoons/whatever you like and analyzing *why* you like them. Once you can take things you like and take them apart and put them back together with a decent amount of confidence that you did it right, you can apply the same to your own stories. Drawing with a reference is always a good idea, and writing comes easier once you look at other works with a critical eye and see how it's done. Or, in many cases, how it isn't done and what *not* to do.
>>4824233*Shrug* Good luck, have fun. I find it hard to objectively evaluate my own writing, but a few things I feel help me to stay sharp/improve are: brushing up on skills I already know in regards to creative writing and engaging an audience (some o.k.-ish stuff on the qtg pastebin), and just getting inspired by other writing, video, ideas, words, situations, nature, etc.I found this neat little thing, I haven't referred to it yet, myself, but I imagine it could be indispensable to any clever action author with a rash of writer's block.https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motif-Index_of_Folk-LiteratureThis also functions as a nice checklist if your storytelling is missing that je ne sais quoi. Reading helps you figure out what works and different ways to write, writing itself gives you the practice and experience of actually putting words to paper. You can speed up the process by going over your own work again while editing to check for mistakes or ways to make it sound better, and you can speed the process up even more if you know other experienced writers who can give you feedback. Just don't be defensive and keep an open mind- be willing to admit something you wrote can be written better when you're given advice instead of buckling down or making excuses. If you look for guides, I don't think you'll find anything that's much more helpful than this simple advice- your time is better spent, reading, writing, editing, and getting feedback than searching for a step by step process. >>4825403>>4825514It's so weird, /qst/ had incredibly lax moderation for years. Only when this board was starting to turn into the corpse it is now someone decided to go make it their glass baby. I'm not joking with >>4822707
>>4825882I mean besides preventing people from posting their yiff stories, there's not really a lot to keep an eye on. /qst/ is pretty tame as far as 4chan boards go. I kinda like it that way.
>>4822086Yeah, I was kinda on the fence whether go with the quest -tag or not. Felt like a tradition at this point, even if it's obviously not neede on context. If my quest hemorrage completely due to the lack of participation (as it seems like right now, guess people are just really busy or simply moved on), I probably need to implement some of the changes suggested in the next OP.
>>4825947I don't think there's anything wrong with the "X Quest" name, for what it's worth-- it's basic but functional and it gives a clear idea of the quest's focus. I think other changes would help, though. Just don't get discouraged! I'd wager most successful QMs go through a failed/dropped quest or three before landing on the final one.
>>4825993Yeah it's all part of a learning experience. I don't plan abandoning this quest, but I may need to relaunch it at a later date if things don't pick up.

How the hell does one differentiate between sex scene/smut and erp/coomerbait?
>>4827679Erp is written by low impulse control mongoloids who can't even seem to figure out whether they want to write in 2nd or 3rd person. Typically involves needless discussion of personal hangups such as dick size and/or needless language to underscore that the author is typing with one hand mashing their chode into their ballsack. See: "her cunt became her world." Sex scenes have purpose. Mentioning with a couple lines of text that the MC is indeed fucking their waifu for the sole purpose of procreation. A-OK. Naughty but necessary. It also seems to extend to cleverly written posts because Trick's Shryke smutfics are still there.
>>4827727what if its two guys
>>4827679I figure a good rule of thumb is if the major purpose of the quest is to plunge into pussy, its erp, where as a quest broken up with the occasional sex scene is smut. writing quality has nothing to do with it.but its pretty arbitrary and dependant on the mod.
>>4827679It's a sex scene if it panders to me and it's erp if it doesn't.

Whatever coomer bullshit presumably happens in there is sequestered to those threads for the most part, and jealous!fags can seethe over it all they want but the fact of the matter is that fanfic quests will imminently get more (You)s than the standard OC quest (Forgotten quests notwithstanding).I still get a laugh thinking about the Sworn to Valour debacle that happened every now and again.

>>4828580I'm also a newfag and would like a spoiler explanation, desu.
>>4828627Fatefag here. I've checked out a few, but none of them were interesting enough to keep me.
>>4828601>>4828627>>4828657Aight. I'll give you newfags the summary of it (as best as I can from memory):Basically Forgotten had a quest called Sworn to Valour that was the most popular quest on the board. Wuxian was caught samefagging in the quest and Forgotten wrote a trollpost/smutpost to get back for it, which ultimately got Forgotten banhammered (Wux was a janny at the time). Then anons started talking about it in the quest thread and the /qtg/, causing Wux to delete posts en-masse before ultimately deleting Sworn to Valour's current thread. And that's basically the reason why Black Company Quest has a really weird/autistic post-system so as to prevent similar samefaggotry.Anything other details I'm missing?
>>4828785Yeah, the part where the trollpost by the QM was the MC and his tsundere waifu anal raping samefags in the waifu's sex dungeon.
>>4828785I checked out Black Company Quest, and I'm too much of a brainlet too figure out how it avoids samefaggotry. The system isn't described anywhere I could find.Still, I wish more quests had some antisamefaggotry measures. One dedicated autistic retard can ruin things for everyone too easily as is.
>>4828785Thanks for summarizing that retardation. Why isn't Wuxian a janny anymore?
>>4828843It was specified in thread #1. You have to post on the quest within 24 hours of the thread being posted and link back to the original post every single time you make a response.
>>4828785Wux was never a janny, he was just a fag with an itchy report finger which got lazy jannies to come in and deal with it. He was also impersonating other QMs and trolling other quests he didn't like (Goblin Quest, StV). The mass deletion was a result of spam reporting and Forgotten getting slightly butthurt. It resulted in a Mod coming over and giving Wux a whipping.
>>4828852Abuse of janny powers. Along with the Sworn to Valour thing, he was also making way more threads for his quests than the post limit specified as well as banning people/deleting posts for smack-talking him.I think he was also the reason the Goblin Quest QM went on indefinite hiatus cause he managed to find out his trip and started making posts as him.
>>4828854Ah, I missed it because it wasn't in the op. Still, that doesn't sound bad at all actually. Still leaves the very first vote of every thread open to samefaggotry, but it's much better than nothing.
>>4828859>>4828861>Wux was never a jannyI actually did not know this. But yeah, the mass-deletion thing was far too coincidental, which is why I thought so.
>>4828861Do you have any screen shots or a link?
>>4828904Unfortunately no. I wasn't one of the primary autists who was keeping tabs on Wux's tomfoolery-- again, like I said in this post >>4828785, I'm going solely off of memory. So anyone who's more autistic than me feel free to correct me if I got any of the dirty deets wrong.
>>4828859This. Wux was trolling the Joker QM and the goblin QM but the mod outed him while also confirming he wasn't a janny. Retards in this thread were pinning everything on him rather than acknowledging there were multiple anons trolling and countertrolling even after several anons admitted to different things.

>>4831706Also gotta agree with the new drawquests being based. Gaol, Medieval, and Reportage have all been solid and consistent so far, and Reportage especially blows me away with how much effort QM puts in with the little details to add gifs to make the images sort of jazzy like you put it

Bicorn interaction was funny, reminded me of a fucker I knew back in the day.Bones Quest: Just started reading through the archives, basing it off some of recommendations I seen.Probably gonna look over the new batch too, but currently mid-session right now, so will look them over in-between updates and shit.>>4831706>Weldy puts a lot of work in the settings and updates.>pic related
Collapse is the only quest I currently follow but its a big one. It takes you through a nuclear apocalypse as you race to adapt, survive and work alongside your fellow survivors. It is a little slower paced and leans way gritty on the gritty vs action hero scale of lethality which has left our MC REGINALD MANTLE Junk Hoarder/Animal Control guy extraordinaire bedridden until the upcoming timeskip but still very much in charge.
>>4831860>CollapsingShit, I got to get back into that. Dropped off when we were starting to get busy hyping up the crab farm because of work-related shit. Guess I got another back onto the list of stuff to catch up on.
>>4831094They are like creepy love letters
>>4831377>magic rapeworm pitsthis was one of the first plot points to overcome, finding a way to save the girl exposed to this and destroy the man responsible. The quest has so far been a wish fulfillment story for players to meet the characters that received shit deals and helping them out of it while finding a way around/to defeat superpowered world ending threats.
How about this for a quest:> Star Trek union ship finds a Stargate floating in space> They study it and find that it comes from a different universe> After reporting their discovery they attach it to their own ship and are given the mission of exploring these universes in the search of new technological and scientific discoveries and rare materials> The ship then goes to different universes: 40k, Star Wars, My Little Pony...

random question for /qtg/ anons. What's her name? The quest you really liked but it got abandoned/cancelled before it's time?
>>4832630well someone has to write all this weird shit you find on the internet I suppose. Some of them may even be well crafted despite subject matter most would consider unsettling if not outright revolting.I recall there was this rather notorious artist on /tg/ that was well talented but had unhealthy fascination with diapers.

>>4834292>>4834298I'm really surprised that people still held out hope for my return. Sorry for vanishing like that, but I've had a huge run of bad luck. Involving losing my PC, being forced to move (which is why I lost my PC), and other set backs that kept me from just buying a new one. When mentioned I'd be gone for a week, was when this all happened, as I was looking for a new apartment and that...didn't go too well. And with my PC, went my notes for the quest, including all of the stands I had created and plans for the future of the quest, among other things. All I have left is Anna's pastebin and that's cause I remembered my passwordSo while I can actually run again, since I am no longer needing to pinch pennies to keep myself fed, I am really discouraged because in the process of this struggle I've lost the foundation of the quest more or less.I'll think about starting up again, see if I can't dredge my memory and rebuild the storyline tree I had been building upCause I really don't wanna just leave Anna's story in the dust, even if the fates have been conspiring to end it. She's fun to write and the quest was a joy to run.But fuck me if the curse didn't hit me hard!

>>4836055Do it if you can update at least 3 times per day.
>>4836002It seems unlikely, even with AI dungeon Mormon's butchered it too hard to be useful. That and the idea of an AI not only writing a vorefic but being programed in such a way where it discerns the correct context to write it and reference an already dead quest in the new writing it created is too absurd. The amount of power to make something that precise is insane and I don't really think the feds would be so autistic and wasrefull as to make a multi-billion dollar vorefic AI. They could make 1000 crawler AIs for the same amount of money and effort which would be much more disruptive with thier massive numbers.

>>4834754I'm so glad to see you around again, I started to think you just died between threads.I think you should read through the archive, that way you can recapture the state of mind you were in when you wrote the quest by making connections between the story and thread discussion and your experiences of writing and thinking about it.If you do that, I think you have a good chance of getting your brain fill in the gaps and rewriting most of what you lost.
