RECAP OF THREAD 1

You are Hyenus, a gnoll from a tribe of fierce warriors called Bloodseekers. Despite being the weakest member, you’ve always dreamed of becoming the pack leader and Gnolrek’s champion, the demon god of your people. It took years of procrastinating, but today you’ve decided to stop slacking and start working towards your goals.

In a few of hours of training, you greatly improve your skills, but shenanigans ensue and a goblin ends up impaling you with a spear. You spend two weeks recovering in the shaman’s hut, unconscious the whole time due to being accidentally drugged with special herbs called “kudinds”

Once you wake up, your childhood friend Daitzsa leads you to a hidden cavern where you can both spar without her jealous husband Gunyx pestering you. However, what you thought would be a simple sparring match turns into a serious fight after Daitzsa goes all out and forces you to awaken your Bloodthirst, a demonic power that few Bloodseekers possess. You eventually come out as the victor, but both of you are left injured.

As Daitzsa lies on the ground defeated, she confesses her feelings for you. Her rutting scent tempts you into mating with her on the spot, but you manage to control your urges and decide to carry her back to the tribe instead.

You venture deeper into the cavern, looking for a safe exit. Along the way, you stumble upon a strange wall with eye engravings staring at you. A voice tells you that touching them will grant you great powers, but instead of obeying, you raise your weapon like the rebel you are and destroy one of the wall engravings. As soon as you do this, a demonic voice vociferates in your head – it was one of Gnolrek’s eyes! The cavern is a portal to Hell! The furious demon god sends a pack of demons after you and Daitzsa!

With the help of a speed boost granted by a mysterious entity, you and Daitzsa manage to escape the cavern and return to the pack. Everyone assumes you were attacked by a demon of the Tufted Ears, one of the enemy tribes. The only Bloodseeker who remains suspicious is Gunyx, who is certain that Daitzsa cheated on him. Now he wants to catch you alone and hurt you badly.

Daitzsa and you are taken to the shaman’s hut to receive medical aid. You fall asleep, and Gnolrek’s general sends you a dream in which he orders you to complete three trials in no more than 30 days if you want your sins to be forgiven, or else Daitzsa will be sacrificed and you will be hunted down. He warns you not to tell your pack of what happened in the cavern, or they’ll be destroyed.

Once you wake up, you decide that it’s not worth obeying the demon scumbags. You’ll seek allies to face Gnolrek! One of the trials you were given is to destroy a hidden dwarf fortress located in the depths of the cavern you escaped from. You’ll seek out their help against the demons.

RECAP OF THREAD 2

You return to bed and wake up in the morning, overhearing a conversation between the shaman and the chieftess Willow. The tribe will begin a ritual at midnight to summon a demon against the Tufted Ears. A human has been abducted for sacrifice, and the shaman will need five days to perform the invocation.

Before heading to the dwarf fortress, you’ll rest for a few days until you’re in better shape. You’ll learn about herbalism in the meanwhile, as you’ll be able to make potions to speed up your recovery. Today, you’ll go to the forest and gather plants to study their medicinal properties.

You leave the shaman’s hut and get into a quarrel with Diana, a pack member who stole your kill when you hunted a big boar weeks ago. Though the encounter doesn’t end up in a fight, it does leave a sour taste in your mouths. You don’t give it importance and venture into the woods to collect herbs, but eventually you happen upon Gunyx and Diana talking to each other. The surrounding trees conceal your figure, so they don’t notice your peeking. By the sounds of it, they are looking for you to have their revenge…

Without making noise, you stealthily return to the tribe to talk to the herbalist Rakuta and see if he can teach you a thing or two about the plants you collected. He’s too busy with his tasks, but his daughter Nikita has no trouble being your teacher, and you learn a few recipes with her. After the end of the class, you venture into the woods again to gather the ingredients for a concoction that will speed up your healing process.

Once you collect what's needed, you walk back to the tribe – only to stumble upon two humans that were abducted by a pair of Molkaras, a rival tribe of pervert gnolls. Those molks have no business in your territory, so you attack and kill one of them while his companion escapes.

You’re unsure of whether to release the captives or leave them to their fate, conflicted by the fact that humies enslaved your mom years ago. But you need allies to face Gnolrek, and you doubt their species are fond of demons, so you resolve to free them. However, as you cut their bindings off, a group of human soldiers ambushes you! They think you want to hurt the prisoners!

All of a sudden, seven Molkaras emerge from the bushes. They wanted to catch you by surprise, but were clueless that humans were here. A battle between both sides ensues and you take the opportunity to escape! After the chaos ceases, you return to the battlefield and find the results of the carnage: the molks were slaughtered.

A strange green wolf that shows signs of intelligence is burying their corpses. You try to talk to it and learn that she’s Luna, the benevolent spirit that granted you the power to escape from Gnolrek’s wrath yesterday. As you help Luna bury the dead molks, she senses a Bloodseeker approaching and runs away to not be seen. Diana emerges from the bushes, surprised at the sight of you burying molkaras...

RECAP OF THREAD 3

Diana demands that you let her take credit for the kills she thinks you’re responsible for, or she’ll tell everyone that you buried molkaras. You notice she fears your strength, so you tell her to buzz off and keep her mouth shut. Not seeing past your bluff, she complies and leaves you alone.

You return to the tribe. Diana and Daitzsa’s mom’s nagging temporally distract you from your goal, but eventually you arrive to your hut and craft the healing potion, which you drink to the last drop.

A weird crow has been following you since you arrived to your shack, which makes you paranoid over demons watching your steps. You walk to the shaman’s hut to ask him about the significance of the bird... but on the way there, you happen upon a dozen crows surrounding the altar of sacrifice on which the humie lies unconscious. As soon as they notice you, they return a menacing look and encircle you! The birds are possessed and about to attack you!

Again, a mysterious being grants you the power to face this new threat. By sheer instinct, you put your palms together and channel a ball of energy in your hands that bursts into deadly rays of light, obliterating the crows. You vomit a disgusting black bile right afterwards - Gnolrek’s influence has left your body, replaced by the presence of another god.

Confused by what just happened, you return to your hut and pray to Mom for guidance, but drowsiness takes over and you fall asleep in the middle of the prayer. You wake up in a dreamlike dimension where the real and your past memories are intertwined. After exploring around, you finally meet up with Mom after so many years of not seeing her. She became an angel in the service of Anu, the deity who granted you his blessing. Unfortunately, you can’t talk to her that much – she’s in a hurry to explain what’s going on, fearing your imminent awakening.

You learn that the Armageddon -the final battle between good and evil- is near. Five portals to Hell are scattered across the world, guarded by mortals that keep the demons at bay. One of those portals is in the cavern you escaped from, which is being held off by the dwarves.

Mom takes you to speak with Anu. He explains that you must become his champion and seal the portals so he can earn time to gain more followers. Otherwise, evil will triumph in the Armageddon, for demons surpass the angels in numbers. You have no option but to accept Anu’s boon, which grants you the power to fly, heal wounds and speak in all tongues. He orders you to go to the dwarf fortress at once to receive your training.

The dream abruptly ends as Dad wakes you up. You’ve been asleep for many hours - it's midnight! The summoning ritual will start soon. Dad says that you shouldn’t be late to your “surprise”: Gnolrek made an arrangement so that YOU sacrifice the humie with your own hands. The Devil realized that you’re not on his side, and he wants to get his influence back in you.

RECAP OF THREAD 4

The pack celebrates your initiation in the Bloodseeker rituals. Their respect and recognition is at the reach of your hands. All you need to do is submit the sacrifice to excruciating pain, and your dreams will become reality…

Unfortunately, if you give in to temptation, Gnolrek’s influence will take over you, and your meeting with Anu would have been in vain. After all the demons have done, there's no way you can worship them again. Their plans must be stopped! You’ve made your decision! Soon, the tribe must wake up to the truth as you, Mom and Daitzsa did. Maybe not today, but you trust that it won’t take them too long...

To everyone’s shock, you sprout Anu’s heavenly wings on your back and explain to the pack that you are not going to torture the sacrifice, and that those who wish to follow you are free to do so. Unfortunately, they don’t take your sudden betrayal too well. The fact that Gnolrek immediately possesses the shaman to stir the pot with his improvised lies doesn’t help the situation.

Before the furious chieftess Willow grabs you, you rush to the shaman’s hut in an attempt to rescue Daitzsa and head to the dwarf fortress with her, but you aren’t fast enough. Willow catches you and, in a fit of rage, she gives you the beating of your life while the pack watches in horror. It’s SO bad that you lose your left eye and barely leaves you conscious.

Doubt settles in the pack’s hearts. They ask for the beating to stop and for you to be spared. Most of them have no wish to see one of their own be killed, but Gnolrek threatens to revoke their demonic powers if they disobey his orders...

On the brink of losing all hope, an unexpected savior arrives. Luna and a pack of wolves assault the tribe, creating a distraction that allows you to use Anu’s powers to heal yourself and grab Daitzsa. After one last, failed attempt to reason with your people, you decide to fly away to the fortress with your friend, leaving the dazzled tribe behind.

Upon arriving to the cavern, you encounter a group of warrior angels fending off the demons that are trying to get you. They instruct you to rush to the fortress while they hold the line, which you do so immediately.

Along the way, you stumble upon Gunyx – who Gnolrek declared his Champion -. He tries to stop you, but Luna and her wolves sacrifice their lives to save you and give you enough time to escape.

Your guts tell you that you’re close to arriving to the fortress, but all of a sudden, an enemy you had defeated yesterday in the cavern appears and blocks your path – it’s Suneyh, the doppelganger demon. And he looks none too happy.

YOOOOO you are back!

RECAP OF THREAD 5

After successfully distracting Suneyh and being rescued by the dwarves, you wake up in bed, resting in a room with other injured people. The dwarves are distrustful of you at first, but after healing one of them with your powers granted by Anu, they open up a bit and order you to go to the Dining Hall so that the entire fortress knows you woke up.

On the way there, you are stopped by an arrogant mistress who, unwilling to accept the idea of a gnoll wandering the corridors alone, orders a kobold servant named Freya to escort you. It takes all your effort to keep yourself from attacking the tasty-looking bold', but what’s most baffling is she ASKED you to eat her, as if she wanted to stop living. Obviously, you just walk away, ignoring the ridiculous request.

Finally, you stumble upon Daitzsa at the dining hall. She was aimlessly wandering the fortress, hoping to find you. Her health has been restored and Gnolrek’s influence dwells in her no longer.

Aaron, a High Priest obsessed with proper manners, introduces himself to you and orders you to follow him to the Great Chamber, the room where the Council – a governing authority of some kind - is gathered and waiting for you and Datz to arrive.

Once you meet up with the Council of Eight – the dwarves who lead the fortress -, they introduce themselves to you: Baldur, the short-tempered chief of the fortress; Farren, the supervisor of servants and also a pervert who lusts after gnolls; Tygus, the open-minded head Judge; Magnus, the blunt and rough General of the dwarf soldiers; Abdol, the big-nosed chief mechanic and also the head mason; Blair, a rude brat who works as a spokesman for the dwarves and is convinced that a gnoll like you cannot be Anu’s champion; and finally Balor, the guy in charge of growing food in the fortress. This dwarf is giving you a murderous glare and refuses to say a single word.

After explaining who they are, they demand that you and Daitzsa do the same. Their prophet –whose name is Adramus- predicted your arrival as the champion of Anu, but they know nothing else about your identities…

So that's what Hyenus will do. Posting the update in a moment

The dwarves are skeptical that Anu has chosen a gnoll –a lowly savage in their eyes- as his hand of justice instead of one of them. They desperately demand an explanation for what they never thought would happen...

Maybe you should sprout your wings to prove that you’re the champion? No, no, that’s a terrible idea. What if it ends up ripping your clothes apart and exposing yourself to that fatso pervert over there? He's still got that weird look...

Actually, you’re not one-hundred percent sure that your wings can’t phase through clothing. Asking Hawkodesh later may clear things up, but for now you’ll keep them hidden and avoid taking stupid risks.

No matter how much you loathe the idea of working with the arrogant humielets, they’re your only allies against Gnolrek, so you’ll have to bear with their company for now. A good way to gain their good will is to tell them your story from the very beginning, starting from your roots as a Bloodseeker.

It feels weird that you're about to tell these strangers your past, but being their god’s champion, they want to know as much as possible about you. And the less room for doubt you give them, the more willing they'll be to help you. It’s all for the best.

You take a deep breath, trying to recall the many nostalgic memories of your past. And with that, you start retelling your childhood, putting special importance in your potential growth as a warrior and your feelings about demon worship.

Daitzsa remains mostly quiet, but she also occasionally speaks to share her thoughts on Gnolrek and the tribe's customs, which are pretty similar to yours.

Back when you were a child, to say that you were the strongest pup in the tribe would be an understatement. Your strength and combat prowess easily matched that of an adult, so you were capable of hunting animals that the other kids wouldn’t even dream of at their young ages. Wolves, boars, cassowaries… hell, you even remember hunting a black bear once!

The shaman told your parents that you had the potential to become one of the greatest gnoll warriors to ever exist, but there was one issue. You lacked cruelty. Your kills were too clean, too straightforward. You understood the art of hunting, but not the art of domination...

And so, like all children, you were taught to be a brutal predator who rejoices in the suffering of his prey.

Torture of people and animals holds an important place in the pack’s lives, as they believe that breaking another creature in body and mind is how a warrior truly conquers his opponent. To dominate is to destroy both flesh and soul, and the crueler the methods used are, the more favored by Gnolrek one will be.

Most people in the tribe are content with their sadistic ways, but Daitzsa and you abhor demonic rituals since you can remember. You always kept your thoughts to yourselves out of fear of losing the clan’s respect, and despite your close friendship, you almost never spoke about this to each other. Pretending that everything is fine was the easier thing to do…

However, the seed of doubt that Mom’s preachings planted on Daitzsa’s heart and yours kept growing over time. And its fruits couldn’t be ignored.

Mom was the only Bloodseeker besides you and Datz who despised sadism. She was like a sacred lotus growing in dirty waters, yet still producing the most beautiful flower.

Your mother always tried to get the tribe to stop their ruthlessness and reconcile with the neighbor clans, convinced that gnolls can work together towards a brighter future and make peace with the humies of the south. She wished for a future free of slaughter, slavery and torture…

But those were her wishes alone, as nobody ever listened to her crazy ideas. One day, she was captured and enslaved by the humans she wanted to befriend so badly, and all her attempts to convert the pack were rendered fruitless.

Or at least, that's what it seemed like at first sight. Her words did manage to reach you and Datz, making you question your upbringings.

For all these years, you’ve been incapable of deciding on what path to follow. Should you be a kind gnoll like Mom wants you to be, or a cruel, sadistic warrior that makes his clan proud...?

Your unsolved doubts, plus the pain of losing your mother and knowing that you’d never feel her warm touch and love again, had started to wither away your strength and courage. You went from being the most promising youth of the clan to a spineless weakling, not even a shadow of your former self.

One day, you were rotting away in your hut as usual, until you woke up with the sudden realization that self-pity was leading you nowhere. The period of mourning Mom had passed, and it was time to rise up and regain your old glory.

There was no room in your head for more doubts. You had finally made up your mind to become a merciless Bloodseeker, and you had a single goal: to become the tribe’s leader and lead them to victory against its enemies. You would let nothing stand between you and your dream…

Funnily enough, destiny had something entirely different prepared for you, as from that day onwards, everything changed in a way that went completely against your original plans.

====================

After recounting your past for ten minutes or so, you figure it’s time to tell the Council the exact events that led you to rebel against Gnolrek.

You start from your visit with Daitzsa to the cavern and the encounter with the demon god’s eyes, making sure not to skip on any details of relevant nature. The trials that the demons ordered you to fulfill, your encounter with the forest spirit Luna, the humies and molkaras, your fight with the evil crows, the meeting with Mom and Anu, and of course, that Gunyx is now Gnolrek’s champion and responsible for the death of the dwarves who were sent to save you – all of those events are things that Daitzsa and the dwarves must be aware of.

You also remember to mention off-hand that you healed a dwarf with Body Restoration. If they doubt your story, they can just ask him.

“… and that’s when I met him.” You point at the priest with snake eyes. “What was your name again?”

The dwarf frowns, annoyed by your forgetfulness. “Aaron Greyforge. Father Aaron for you!”

“Oh, right. Sorry gramps.” You scratch the back of your head, slightly embarrassed. “Anyway… as I mentioned before, Anu basically sent me here to be trained. I have the potential to become really strong, really fast, but I need your help so I reach my peak as soon as possible. My mission is to seal the portals and prevent the Armageddon from being unleashed, and we only have a month or two before it’s too late.”

The High Priest slowly nods at your words. “Hyenus” he bluntly addresses you. “Helping us means going against everything that your clan represents. Does that mean you will follow Mirabelle’s steps and honor the sacred title you were given by God himself?”

You clench your fists, determination filling your soul. “My only desire is to free my people from Gnolrek’s influence. If doing that requires me to follow Anu’s principles… then so be it.”

“What about you, young lady?” Aaron asks the quiet Daitzsa, giving her a skeptical look. “Will you fight the demons for the glory of Anu, as your friend will?”

The priest puts words in your mouth. You want to defeat Gnolrek not for any god’s glory, but because he’s a scumbag who betrayed you and is planning to invade the world. Granted, you ARE against sadism and cruelty, but that doesn’t mean you HAVE to worship Anu like the dwarves do.

Daitzsa remains silent at the priest’s question. It’s clear that she hates Gnolrek as much as you do, but to fight for the cause of a god she had never heard of until now is obviously unappealing. Her eyes meet with yours - they yell for aid, so you grab her hand and smile to show that you understand her feelings.

Your friend takes a deep breath and gives the Council her honest answer. “I’ll follow Hyenus to the battlefield and help him to rid this world of the demons. All of them must die… every single one. However...” She folds her arms, “I’m not doing it for Anu. We don’t want another god controlling our lives as Gnolrek did. Freedom is all I care for, and I’m sure my soul mate thinks the same way.” She stares at you and smiles, certain that you two are in the same tune.

An awkward silence sets in the Chamber as the council gawks at Datz. Eventually, the high priest lets out a tired sigh and addresses her with a disappointed voice. “It is a shame that you compare a monster like Gnolrek to Anu, a being of pure love... but I have faith that your stay in our fortress will eventually change your mind.”

The chief Baldur taps his foot with impatience. “Yes, yes, I do as well. Let us return to the main topic, gentlemen.” He leans back on his chair, rubbing his long gray beard with intrigue in his eyes. “Hyenus, you said that we only have one or two months left. Why is that?”

“Errr... good question” you respond, realizing that Hawkodesh didn’t give you much of an explanation. “Lemme’ ask my angel guardian real quick. Don't mind me.”

You establish contact with the birdly guide dwelling in your soul. “Hawkodesh, why do we only have one or two months to seal the portals?”

The bird answers your question. “Tell the dwarves that in less than thirty days, the Night of the Infernal Hounds will arrive.”

“The what?”

Hawkodesh elaborates further. “Remember when Gnolrek’s general warned you that if you failed to complete the trials in less than a month, your tribe would be possessed during the Ritual of Bloodthirst and Daitzsa sacrificed by them?" The angel makes a dramatic pause. "It just so happens that ALL gnoll packs in the world will hold a ritual of similar nature in thirty days! Thousands of demon followers will be possessed at the same time, and they will march towards this fortress!

"Holy mother of gnolls! Are you serious?!"

"Indeed!" Hawkodesh responds. "The old prophet Adramus prophesied this event, and the dwarves call it the Night of the Infernal Hounds.”

“The Devils schemed this a year ago when they saw that the dwarves are guarding one of the portals, preventing the demons from invading Aurus. You were just a minor convenience that would have accelerated their plans if you succeeded in destroying the fortress, but even if you failed, they’d have gone with their original plans. No matter how strong the dwarves’ defenses are, they cannot hold off such a massive invasion, and without them guarding the portal… you know what happens next, Hyenus.”

“These demons have some crazy machinations going on behind our backs...”

“Oh, you have no idea. Sealing this portal will give us a little more time to close the others, but the demons are also planning to topple the other mortals keeping them at bay, so we must hurry. All the portals must be sealed In less than two months.”

“That’s all you and the dwarves need to know for now, so tell them what I told you.” Hawkodesh cuts the spiritual link, and you do as he says.

====================

The dwarves are surprised by the information. “So the Night of the Infernal Hounds was a genuine prophecy…” the puzzled mason Abdol murmurs. “Adramus was right.”

“Hmph… I wonder who the mortals guarding the other portals are” the general Magnus grunts. “They must be strong folk. Maybe they’re knife-ears?”

“Perhaps.” Baldur sighs, a small smirk appearing on his face. “Thank you for clearing things up, gnolls. That was… quite the tale, I have to say.”

“There are some elements I find hard to believe” the mason Abdol skeptically remarks. “Anu couldn’t possibly look like this gnoll described Him…” He stares at the high priest. “Or could He, your Eminence?”

Aaron shakes his head with dangerous confidence. “Hyenus was not prepared to behold God in His true form, so his mind conjured up a nonsensical appearance. Simple as.”

“Of course! That makes sense.” The mason heaves a sigh of relief, content that Anu probably doesn't look like a giant flying eye.

The humielet Blair clears his throat and leans over the table. “I don’t understand why you all speak as if these gnolls are saying the truth. I find no reason to believe any of their words.”

“Your skepticism is commendable, but I doubt they are lying” the judge Tygus retorts. “There’s also that dwarf that Hyenus claims to have healed. I don’t think a demon worshipper would use his powers to aid his enemy.”

Blair rolls his eyes, disagreeing with the judge’s words. “That is just a gut feeling, and I need more than that to place my trust in two savages. There’s no definite proof that their story isn't made up and they are not just working for their demon gods. You people are far too credulous.”

“Enough!” Baldur vociferates, tired of the young dwarf’s insolence. “Judging all the evidence at hand, it’s time the Council makes a rational decision.” He glances at you and Daitzsa. “This discussion is a private matter, so leave and return in two hours. In the meanwhile, you may rest in the room we assigned to you. Arthur, please lead them there” He gives the pony-tailed dwarf in the room an expectant look.

Arthur nods, conceding to the chief’s request. He stands up and approaches you with a smile. “Let’s get going buds. I’ll show you the way around the fortress.” You notice this dwarf is unusually tall, probably as much as a female human – which is a lot by dwarven standards.

Datz and you stare at each other, confused by the abrupt decision of the Council to kick you out, but you soon trade nods and decide to follow Arthur’s lead, wherever he’s taking you.

“Bye bye, doggies!” you hear Farren say as you and Datz leave the chamber. “It was a pleasure to meet you! I can’t wait to see you agaaaaain!”

Daitzsa and you find yourselves traversing the corridors again. There are more dwarves than earlier, so you get even more weird looks from people. Needless to say, it sucks. You really wish to be left alone!

“Forgive the Council’s lack of chillness” Arthur suddenly speaks up, a chuckle escaping from him. “That’s just how people are in this fortress. They’re super wary of anyone who is not a dwarf.”

“Yeah, we noticed that” you respond. “But you’re friendlier than most, for some reason.”

Arthur is silent for a moment before sighing. “I… I knew your mother, Hyenus" he admits. "The dwarves don’t give enough weight to how important her existence is, but I do. She’s living proof that not only can gnolls change – they can also enjoy following Anu, and even better than we do. Har har har!”

The dwarf looks back to gaze at your full figure. “Yeah… you’re definitely her son.” He smiles. “Mirabelle taught me a most humbling lesson... dwarves are not as cool as we think we are.” As soon as he finishes the sentence, his eyes open up in surprise and regret over his own words. “Eh… don’t tell anyone I said that, please.”

“Don’t worry, I won’t” you reassure him. "So you were friends with my mom?"

"Hey, look at this place! " Arthur points at an interesting room. "This is where the dwarves..."

(30 minutes later...)

====================

Arthur shows you the entire first floor of the fortress. You make sure to memorize all the locations that seemed most interesting.

- There are some abandoned mines in the west zone, which have been sealed after the dwarves stopped finding valuable shiny stones or whatever the humies call those things. It’s now home to various types of animals.

- A place called ‘blacksmith forge’ where the dwarves turn the shiny rocks into weapons and metal protection that looks very similar to what humans and Tufted Ears wear in battle. Arthur calls it ‘armor’, so you’ll start using that word from now on. He suggests that you pass by here whenever you have the chance to request a suit of armor adapted to your body type.

- The home of an ‘alchemist’. According to the dwarf, it’s someone who mixes up various substances to come up with potions and other useful compounds. Clearly it’s just a fancy word for herbalist.

- A big enclosure called ‘church’ where dwarves often reunite to pray and worship Anu. There were some priests in here, including the one who saved you in the cavern, but he didn’t see you here.

- The place called ‘library’ that Anu mentioned during your astral projection. History and knowledge are recorded in strange symbols drawn in blank sheets kept in this room. Arthur calls them books.

Finally, after a trip that lasts about half an hour, Arthur leads you to your new home, the place where you’ll be sleeping at from now on. “This is your room. Comfy, isn’t it?”

“It's nice” you say. Honestly, it’s not bad at all. There’s just enough space to not induce claustrophobia in you, there's a fiery stick that lightens up the room with a cozy yellow light, and best of all, the dwarves made sure there's a bed for two. Bow chika wow, baby.

Other than the painting hanging on the walls, you have no idea what the other objects in the room are. Might as well take a closer look at them later.

“This humble home belonged to the captain who was sent to rescue you, but he died along with his squad" Arthur explains. "Uristo was his name, I think. A quiet fellow. Didn’t leave a wife or any kids behind, except this place that he won’t be needing anymore. May he and his men rest in peace.”

A short moment of silence sets in. The armored dwarf shrugs and smacks his lips. “Such is life. Well, this is the end of the tour, friends. I xtill haven’t shown you the second floor of the fortresx, but let’s leave it for another time. I gotta’ bolt to the barracks before I’m late to train the boys.”

“That’s fine” you say, grateful for his guidance. “Thanks for showing us the way around.” Daitzsa nods, forcing in a smile and thanking him as well. “Yup.”

The dwarf gives you and your friend a thumbs up. “Aye. Keep in mind that you have to return to the Great Chamber in, uh… one hour and a half, I think? In any case, I’ll return here when it's time, and we’ll head there together.” He points at the fiery stick in the room. "By the way, the torches in the fortress are enchanted to flicker every thirty minutes. You can use that as a reference for having an idea of what time it is."

“Uh-huh. Are we free to roam the fortress?” you ask. Arthur scratches his chin, pondering on your queston. “Hmm… well, the Council didn’t say you couldn’t, so go ahead. Just don’t be surprised if you get weird looks from the other dwarves. They’ll have to get used to your presence anyway, so might as well start now right?” He shrugs and raises his eyebrows. “Besides, it’s a good chance for you to talk to people and get the feel of how things work around here.”

The pony tailed dwarf heads towards the exit of the room. “Just make sure you keep your business on this floor for now. You might get lost if you explore the ones below, not to mention that some guards may mistake you for a servant, since that’s where they keep most of them.”

“Got any more advice?” you ask before he finally leaves, but he shakes his head. “Nope, that’s all. Make yourself comfortable, Mister Eye Picker.” He gazes at Daitzsa. “And you take care too, girl. Farewell!”

And with that, you and Datz are finally left alone in what will probably be your new home for a long time.

Without breaking a sweat, you and your friend immediately head for the bed and toss yourselves onto its soft sheets like heavy, falling boulders. The tension gradually leaves your body, and it's replaced by immense exhaustion. You really, REALLY were in need of a break.

“I’m so tired…” you hear Daitzsa whisper under her breath. “Yeah… that was a crazy way to start the day” you say as you massage your temples, feeling great relief as your stress diminishes and some mental clarity returns to you.

This is where the string of catastrophic events that almost ended your life led you. Finally, you have the downtime to rest and reflect on everything that happened...

There is tons of stuff you can start doing right now, such as explore this fortress and get to know its strange inhabitants better.

You recall that Anu told you to go to the library to learn more about the period of time in which the dwarves were trying to convert gnolls to their faith, so paying it a visit may be a good idea. You can take the opportunity to pass by the blacksmith’s forge and request a suit of ‘armor’ for you.

Or maybe you should forget about leaving the room and start training right away here. Datz can be your sparring partner, and it’d also help you and her to relieve some of the tension you accumulated.

Then again... rather than fighting, you could also just chill with Datz and Hawkodesh while you wait for the next council meeting. Even after resting for two days, you feel completely worn out, and your thoughts are all over the place.

You can’t help but wonder what the tribe is doing right now. If there’s someone who knows, it must be Mom, one of the sky watchers of heaven.

Hmm… what do you do now…

Would it be possible to go to the Alchemist later for some protein shakes to further enhance Hyenus's strength so he gets stronker faster? We gonna speed run this bitch. He should still have the STR buff from his last meal.

Anons, I've been thinking about how long it usually takes me to update, and I realized if I continue with the daily format, this quest ain't ever gonna end. So I came to a decision.

For the sake of speed and maintaining a steady pace, I'll go back to tegaki drawings, kind of similar to the 1st thread. This means that the art of the quest will be more MSpaintish from now on, but as a trade off the update speed should increase dramatically.

t'll make exceptions for scenes that would really benefit from better drawings. All in all, I hope it's not too jarring, but I really found this to be necessary.

There's a saying in your tribe that is taught to all pups: always listen to mommy and daddy, because they always know what's best for you. It's good advice to heed, even as an adult, especially when mommy happens to be an angel watching over you from above.

Yeah, you're definitely going to pray to mom! You really want to talk to her, besides she can give you tips on how to deal with the dwarves and tell you her stories with them. Clearly she's got a lot of experience in treating these humielets - if they liked her enough to not enslave her, it must be for a reason. She earned their trust.

Your only concern is that you might fall asleep if you pray to her. Maybe you'll do it after talking with Datz...

... But first, you need to see what's up with the creature behind the grate, which has been stalking you since you woke up. Yes, you DID get glimpses of its shiny little eyes glowing in the dark, peeping at you on multiple occassions! This sneaky little bastard bets it's safe and hidden from view, but it can't fool your hunter senses!

As soon as you stand up from bed, Datz becomes slightly startled. "Hmph..." You notice she was falling asleep. She rubs her eyes and yawns. "Hmmh... where are you going, Hyeny?"

"A rat is stalking us" you whisper, slowly approaching the floor bars. "It's behind the grates now. I'm going to try and catch it."

"Oh, you noticed it too...?" Datz murmurs with contagious somnolence, another yawn escaping her lips. "Teach it a lesson, big hunter..." She closes her eyes and lies on her side, intending to take a nap.

You kneel next to the grate. There he is, the little scoundrel! Strangely enough, the fearless creature is not striken with fear by your presence. Instead, it stays put and stares at you, refusing to escape.

Maybe it's a demon minion spying on you, just like the evil crows were!

"Come here, mister Whiskers..." you whisper to the furry ruffian, carefully positioning your arms for a quick grab. The creature stands its ground, seemingly unable to understand that you are a huge threat to its life.

At this point, it's obvious that it's no ordinary animal, as a rat would have ran away by now. This is clearly a demon spy sent by Gnolrek, and a very stupid one!

Once you're in position, you take a second to prepare yourself... and then you stick your left hand through the bars as quickly as you can! The little bugger realizes that you're about to get your hands on it and tries to slip away by escaping through the dark tunnels, but it's too late. You already managed to get a firm grasp on it!

"Gotcha!" you exclaim, content with your successful hunt. In the darkness below, you hear the struggling animal yelp in fear like a dog, a sound you definitely weren't expecting to hear. It's fuzzy to the touch, reminding you of a wolf pup. Whatever this creature is, it's definitely not a rat...

You drag it upwards, trying to get it out of the grates to have a better look at it. The animal struggles and whimpers to be released, but it's all in vain. There's no way you're losing hold of this thing.

As soon as you bring the furry animal into the room's light, you notice it looks exactly like a wolf pup, except for the shorter limbs, longer sideburns, its big oval-shaped snout and green fur, by far its most distinctive attribute. This creature is highly reminiscient of the forest spirit Luna... but something tells you that it's not her.

The animal uselessly wrestles with your hand, trying to latch onto it with its small teeth, unable to break free of your strong grasp.

You're not really sure of what to do with this wolf thing It's not showing any signs of intelligence so far...

The animal eventually stops struggling, realizing that it's only wasting energy in a fruitless task. It meets your gaze with its strangely intelligent eyes and speaks with a trembling and high-pitched voice, pleading you to spare its life. "D-don't eat me! PLEASE! If it's stickman Hyenus, sure. Otherwise it can take me much longer depending on the scene perspective.

The most time consuming part of drawing is making my linework not look jaggy, which is kind of difficult since I'm using a mouse. Now that I'm back to tegaki I don't want to worry about those small details that much. There will be some exceptions though.

The fuzzy critter stares at you with its little eyes, begging for mercy. He's scared to death! It's so cute! You'll show him that you mean no harm by giving him a strong, loving hug. "Relax, buddy" you softly whisper in its ears as you wrap your arms around its squishy body, pushing it towards your chest. Its fur smells of wet earth after a long rain, a very comforting scent that reminds you of the beautiful woods above this dusty and bleak fortress.

The little guy struggles to break free of your embrace, not understanding your good intentions. "Oooh Goddess, HELP ME!!!" he squeals in absolute horror. You use one of your hands to headpat it. "It's okay, you're safe here. I won't chomp on an adorable little face like yours!"

Hunting small creatures like bunnies and birds is never an enjoyable activity. They are too weak to pose a challenge, and their whimpers of fear and pain make you feel bad for killing them, so you always try to give them a quick death. It's silly, because you're a gnoll, a natural hunter and predator, but that's just the way it is: your heart has a soft spot for fuzzy critters, including this wolf-bunny thing.

Daitzsa is woken up by the noise. She stands up from bed and approaches the scene with great curiosity in her eyes. "What are you holdi- oh!" she exclaims, surprised by the strange critter you have in your hands. "Is that our stalker?"

"Yeah" you respond, smirking at the stealthy wolf-bunny. "Our friend can speak, and he claims to have a message from the spirit of the woods." Frightened by the sight of two gnolls, the creature goes quiet, its body trembling with fear and its chest quickly expanding due to its heavy, uncontrolled panting. What a scaredy little guy! Daitzsa stares at it for a few seconds before a smile appears on her face. "Aww, it's kind of cute."

Alright, you've had your deal of fun. It's time to address what the fuzzy courier came here for before it faints or suffers a heart attack. Hopefully, it'll calm down when it realizes there is no reason to be afraid.

For a moment you consider releasing the creature, but decide not to, fearing that it may run away in panic. Besides, as innocent as it may seem, you're still not entirely sure that it's not working for the demons. Appearances can fool the eyes... or eye in your case.

You hold the critter in front of you with a firm, but gentle grasp, and then you throw your first question - the most important one. "Are you a boy or a girl?" The furry messenger gives you a blank stare for a few seconds before responding with a low, barely audible voice. "I... I'm a boy... a-are you... are you going to eat me?"

"I told you you're safe here, little buddy" you remind him. "Right, Daitzsa?" Your friend nods and gives him a thumbs up. "Yeah, don't worry about us. My belly is full anyway."

Finally, the wolf-bunny calms down. There is still wariness in his eyes, but at least he's more willing to hold a conversation. "Do you have a name?" Daitzsa asks him. "I... I do..." the creature stutters. "T-the Goddess blessed me with the name of Bark..."

"Bark?" Datz says after him, a small chuckle escaping her. "Haha! What kind of name is that?" A diminute frown appears on the critter's face. "I-it's what the Goddess called me, a-and I bestow it proudly!"

"Are you related to Luna?" you ask Bark, who nods nervously. "Y-yes! The Goddess created me with the purpose of sneaking in the place of no trees to find the champion of the dwarves, and give him a message on Her behalf..."

"So she's alive?" you ask, hoping that is the case. The furry courier nods again and, for the first time, he smiles. "As long as the forest exists, She will too, for She is the incarnation of the woods. Her avatar of flesh is but a mere fragment of Her power, for She is everywhere within the trees and all the creatures that inhabit it."

Looks like Luna was speaking the truth. Gunyx's deathblow was only temporary. She's back, and she means business! "That's great news!" you exclaim happily. "But if you have a message, why didn't you speak up earlier instead of stalking us?"

The wolf-bunny shily averts his gaze off yours. "I-I'm sorry... this is the first time I talk to two gnolls, and I... I know how your kind treats animals... I-I wasn't sure of how to address you..."

"Don't worry, we're not like other gnolls" you reassure him. "So what is this message you have for us?"

Bark's eyes lighten up. "O-oh, yes, of course! That's what I'm here for!" He clears his throat. "The wise Goddess wishes to speak to you and Daitzsa, but She is not willing to manifest Herself within the boundaries of these cold stone walls. You must go to the long-forgotten paths created by the dwarves in where they extracted the gems of Mother Nature, and once you're there, you must howl from the bottom of your hearts. If your call is heartfelt, the Goddess shall appear before your eyes..."

"I see. Is that all Luna told you?" you ask.

"Yes... She wishes to speak to both of you in person."

You nod. "We should pay the abandoned mines a visit when we have the opportunity."

"I..." you hear the wolf-bunny mutter. "Um... I-I think I fulfilled my mission... f-forgive me, but... can I leave now? I really wish to return with the Goddess... I am growing weary and sad from the anti natural air of this horrible dwarven enclosure..."

"You're free to go..." you tell Bark, readying your hands for some heavy petting, "But first, I need to get something out of my chest." The wolf bunny tilts his head, looking confused. "W-what do you mean...?"

You gently lie the critter on the ground, placing him on his back. He looks scared and startled by your actions, unaware that it only makes him look even more adorable. "H-hey! What are you doing?!"

Before he can do anything, you start rubbing his belly with one hand and scratching his ears with the other. The creature becomes as tense as a statue, not knowing how to react at what's probably the first time a gnoll pets him like this. Eventually, he understands what's going on and his body goes limp, though his puzzled look remains.

It's so fluffy and soft! This is amazing! You absolutely love petting this little creature! "Uuh... this feels so weird..." Bark murmurs with shyness. "I'm not sure I like it... but I... I kinda do..." Datz chuckles at scene. "Whoa! You really like him, Hyeny!"

"Touch him Datz, he's reeeeally fuzzy" you invite her to join the petting session, but sadly, she refuses. "Errr... no, I'm happy with seeing you pet it."

"You're missing out! Give it a try!" you insist, but she leans in to whisper in your ear, making sure the critter doesn't hear what she says. "I kind of want to, but... I don't know... I prefer to avoid getting attached to animals. Makes it easier to hunt them, y'know..."

"Oh, come on..." you whisper back at her. "This is Luna's friend, not a random wolf-bunny thing that we can eat without remorse..."

"Fiiiiine, if you insist. Maybe just a little rub over there..." Daitzsa gives in and places her hand on the creature's belly. As soon as she does, a happy - but also scary - grin appears on her face. She starts rubbing violently, inducing terror on Bark. "Woah! He's REALLY fluffy! This is so cool!"

"I... I really need to be with the Goddess right now..." you hear Bark mumble nervously, clearly scared by the situation. "C-can I please go?"

Datz and you stop petting him and trade nods wih each other. It's time to let him go. "See you soon, little friend!" she waves him goodbye. "Bye-bye, Bark" you bid him farewell. You release the hold of him and he immediately scurs through the grate without wasting a second, not even looking back. He looked a bit traumatized - probably couldn't handle all the love.

"That was adorable..." Datz tells you. She looks meditative. "To think that the tribe would be torturing that poor critter instead of petting it like we did..."

You nod. "We're very different from them, aren't we?"

"Yeah..." Daitzsa responds with sadness in her voice.

Consider: we have a limited amount of time before we go back to the big council chamber. We can always spar later. Why not examine the things on the table first? Can the doors even be locked? How do we know somebody won't come in here and sabotage us and tamper with the things before we can examine them? The dead captain guy might have crucial information about things that can keep Hyenus and Daitza alive here in the fortress

Indeed, you and Datz are very different from the rest of the tribe... but they're still your family. They took care of you for all these years, despite how weak and useless you were the whole time. It hurts to remember the night where they finally turned their backs on you, exasperated by the trouble you caused...

Daitzsa notices that you're lost in your thoughts. She places a hand on your shoulder and holds one of yours with the other, leaning close to you. "Hyenus... are you ready to talk?"

"Huh? About what?" You raise an eyebrow and smile, pretending to not know what she's talking about. There's no point in dwelling in the past. However, she doesn't seem satisfied with your answer. Without averting her piercing eyes off yours, she insists on getting you to vent to her, knowing that you're hiding your feelings. "Don't play silly... I know how much you care for the pack and their respect. How do you feel after what they..." She gulps, trying to find the right words. "... after what they did to you that night, Hyeny?"

Damn it! It's like she can read your thoughts! Why doesn't she realize that you don't want to remember that?! There are far more pressing matters to attend to right now! You shake your head, once again forcing a fake smile. "I-I'm fine! Hey, look at those sheets on the table!" You quickly point at the objects lying there, trying to change the topic of conversation. "They look interesting, let's study them!"

You try to approach the table, but Datz refuses to let you go. "Don't think you can distract me" she says, a frown appearing on her face. "You can trust me, Hyeny... I'm here for you." Growing increasingly desperate, you beg her once more to stop. "Datz, everything is alright, I mean it! I'm just a bit tired, that's all! Come on, let's familiarize ourselves with this room!"

Datz remains silent for a moment, giving you an inquisitive look, knowing that you're not being truthful. This time, though, she understands the message and decides to drop it, raising her eyebrows and heaving a sigh of defeat. "If you say so... but we have to speak of that eventually, Hyeny."

You approach the loose sheets and the 'book', or whatever Arthur calls these items. There are strange symbols drawn on them, which the dwarves supposedly use to record history and knowledge. "Look at all this gibberish..." Datz murmurs, her eyes darting at the notes without a clue of their meaning. "How do the dwarves interpret this?"

"No idea" you shrug. But soon after, an idea comes to mind. Just like the mark on the shaman's head refers to Gnolrek, these small marks may refer to many kinds of things, even if the symbols themselves aren't those things. It sounds so tedious to learn what each one means... but you might as well put in the effort to interpret them. Anu gave you the power to speak in all tongues, and it might also apply to non-verbal communication.

You start with the book, focusing your eyes on the big symbols on the top of the left sheet, trying to descipher their meaning. "Making... ramen... no, amends..." Holy crap! You are doing it! "Through... sir flatulence... no, no... self-flagellation. It says 'Making amends through self-flagellation."

>+10 Focus EXP for your first time reading. This bonus is non-repeatable
>'Focus' has leveled up to 5

Daitzsa looks surprised. "Whoa! You can understand what it says?!"

You smirk, feeling satisfied with your new experience. "I guess Savior's Tongue does apply to books. Pretty cool, huh?"

"It's awesome!" your friend exclaims, amazed by your powers. "Do it again, Hyeny!"

You lean on the table to read more of the book, as well as the loose sheets...

==========

The book has about fifty sheets bound together. A quick look through them reveals that it talks about the nature of Sin, the many types of Sin, and how to make amends when one commits Sin. The methods are procedural, describing steps like repeating mantras, working for the Church, fasting for days or weeks, and so on.

As you close the book, you notice that the leathery front cover also has big symbols drawn on it, which read 'Misdeeds Against Anu and His Creation: An extract from the Holy Testament'.

The scribbled notes describe the deceased captain's observations on his patrols. Most of them are mundane, but one particular fragment calls your attention.

"Twelve o'clock in the midnight, 3rd of Genesis Dawn. I had a frightening experience on the corridor that leads to the alchemist's home. I saw a mysterious road that was never there before. It seemed to extend towards the infinite... and the longer I gazed into it, the more I felt like I was being pulled towards it. When I realized what was going on, I said to meself 'fuck no!' and I bited myself in the arm, breaking the hypnosis, and I bolted outta' there! When the others arrived to investigate, the corridor was gone. Them' demons are everywhere... only Anu knows what would've happened if I fell in the trap. I can't wait til' the demon threat is over. I just wanna' confess my love to Mary and raise a family with her. I ain't leaving this world without descendance!"

Testing out your Savior's Tongue also reminds you that you have to check how your wings work. You're not sure if they can phase through clothing, and you have a plan to figure that out - after you finish examining the room's objects, you'll get your clothes off, sprout the wings, and then try to put the tunic back on.

After you finish examining the notes, you divert your attention to the talisman resting on the table. Daitzsa doesn't seem interested in it - something else catches her attention. "I think those jugs contain water" she says, pointing at some jugs on a table in front of the bed. "I'm kind of thirsty... I'll drink some."

"M'kay." You nod at Datz and grab the yellow talisman, examining it closely. It looks like a cross with a circle in the middle and a big eye resting on top of it, reminding you of Anu. Maybe this is the symbol the dwarves use to refer to him? It's tied to two strings that are clearly meant to be attached around one's neck.

There's not much else to this artifact, so you place it back on the table and walk to the corner where the grate is, another object picking your interest.

Looking at it from far away, you weren't sure of what to make out of the item resting on the wall table. Now that you have it on your hands for closer inspection, you realize it's a whip, a common tool of torture. The thong has stains of dried up blood - it's clearly been used quite frequently. It seems that the captain who owned this room was a practicer of self-fragelation.

How strange it is to want to inflict pain on oneself. Even your tribe of ardent torturers avoids experiencing the agony of the flesh firsthand – it’s meant to be something you inflict upon your enemies, not yourself.

What can possibly be earned from whipping oneself other than a bloody and scarred back is beyond your understanding, but it does make you wonder... does Anu really approve of this?

"BLAAAAAAARGH!!!" you hear Daitzsa retching with immense disgust. "This drink tastes like piss! How can dwarves enjoy this stuff?!"

"Hey, save some for me." You chuckle at your friend's exaggerated gagging, though it's probably justified. You're not sure if you want to taste that orange thing now..."

You and Datz approach the painting hanging on the wall, which depicts a simple scenario of the sun god Anu watching some mountains from the sky.

"To think that the big ball of fire sitting above us turned out to be a god..." Daitzsa murmurs, interested in studying the depiction. Something on the painting catches her eye - she points at the small dots surrounding the figure of Anu. "Do you know what those dots represent?"

"No idea" you respond, trying to recall if you saw anything like that during your vision, but to no avail.

"Maybe they're important angels working for him" Datz theorizes. It sounds like the most plausible answer, but asking a priest later might clear things up.

The next piece of furniture in the room that you and Datz study is the huge wooden container, which placed to the right of a seemingly useless metal stand. This huge craft is the only object made of - mostly -wood you have seen so far in this fortress, and there are two prominent circular handles glued to it, similar to the door that leads to this room. You maneuver the handles in a similar fashion to how you saw the dwarf Arthur do it, and you manage to open the thing, revealing tons of clothes and outfits, including ones that you haven't seen any other dwarf wear so far.

"Hey, there's a note here" Daitzsa points at a white sheet glued to the container's right door. With the help of your Saviour's Tongue, you can make up what it says.

"If you can read this, then know that all these clothes are a courtesy from the Council. Please select an attire that's similar to what most dwarves wear. Mister Farren insisted in adding two maid outfits - the clothes with black and white patterns, but I must ask that you do not wear those. You are not servants, and Mister Farren will eventually have to understand that. Forgive him. -- Father Aaron"

“Hey, check this out.” Datz signals you with one of her hands to come over. She’s staring at the shiny circular frame hanging on the wall to the right side of the bed.

You approach and - HOLY CRAP! What’s that skinny gnoll doing in here?!

Wait, no… that’s just your reflection. It’s so clear; it’s almost like looking at an exact copy of yours and Datz standing in front of you! You touch the strange reflective object – its smooth, cold texture is unlike anything you’ve ever touched before! “What kind of magic is this?!" you exclaim, impressed by this dwarf invention!

"No idea, but it's amazing!” Datz claps, her eyes shining with excitement. “It's the first time I see my reflection so clearly! Hmm, I didn't know I'm so pretty... hehe, just kidding."

So this is how you look… holy shit. You’re way wimpier than you thought. Just look at those flaccid arms and legs, and those narrow shoulders. You're so weak and frail... even as a kid you looked manlier and more robust than you are now. Why did Anu and Gnolrek place their eyes on a weakling like you instead of one of their so many devout followers? You don't look like you have much going on for you...

You remove your eyepatch and rub your swollen eyelids. This is where your left eye is supposed to be... but there's nothing in there. The eye socket is empty.

Granted, you’ll be able to regrow it eventually, but it’s still a heavy loss. It feels like an important part of you is missing. Making up the distance between objects is so difficult with just one eye. You don’t understand how Natasha can live without her sight...

Seeing your pathetic, shattered reflection fills you with regret and frustration. You lost so much over the years – first it was your mother, and with her, your strength and self-determination were gone as well. Now, not only you lost an eye… you also lost the backup and respect of the pack. The things that mattered to you the most.

Gnolrek’s words while he took over Krubbai still echo in your mind…

¨¨¨¨¨¨ ‘AN EYE FOR AN EYE, LITTLE GNOLL.’ ¨¨¨¨¨¨

He really got away with his revenge. The shock of losing your eye is something you can get over with – what breaks your heart is that you were beaten into a pulp by the tribe’s leader while the others just watched your destruction. You feel so betrayed… but to be fair, they also feel they were betrayed by you, which only adds salt to the wound.

The worst part is that Gnolrek’s revenge doesn’t stop here. The demon that’s being summoned right now will do unspeakable things to the people you cherish the most, all just because Gnolrek wants to get his point across - he’s not to be trifled with. A spiteful asshole, that’s what he is…

Daitzsa’s comforting voice reaches your ears. “Hyeny… we’ll save our pack, and they’ll accept us back in. I promise.”

"It'll never happen" you tell her the truth that must be accepted. “I shouldn’t have rebelled against Gnolrek. This was the biggest mistake of my life. A wimp like me can’t fight a demon god, not even in his dreams...”

"You're not a wimp!" Daitzsa tries in vain to reassure you. "Don't treat yourself like this! If you train just a little, you'll grow very strong! You'll be-"

“Datz..." you interrupt her, not resisting the urge to vent to your best and only friend. "For all these years, I wanted to become the leader of the pack. My entire life revolved around that wish. I wanted them to believe that I'm strong and merciless - a real Bloodseeker… but I never did anything to accomplish that. All this time I’ve been leeching off the tribe and their protection, yet they still took care of me, despite of my worthlessness and zero contribution...”

“Worthlessness? Zero contribution?" Daitzsa repeats after you. There's anger in her voice. "Hyenus. Stop."

"But it's the truth, Datz." You're stating what's just a simple fact. "I'm a worthless poser pretending to be a warrior. The tribe is right to hate me, especially after what I did. They’re all going to be raped and murdered by Gnolrek's demons, and it’s my fault. My stupidity doomed them all...”

Daitzsa goes silent. That means she agrees with you. There’s no way to defend your actions…

The sight of a grinning Daitzsa takes you by surprise. "You and I are going to spar.”

"What?" you mumble, confused by her sudden request. "You mean, now?“

Datz's grin grows larger. “Yes. NOW."

"But... but why?” you ask, puzzled by her strange behavior...

Daitzsa rolls her eyes, her big smile still intact. "To get stronger, silly! We have to be on perfect shape for when we fight Gnolrek. Now get in position!"

Hawkodesh's voice echoes in your mind. "Hyenus, I have a bad feeling about this. Daitzsa probably wants to go all out, but it would be disastrous to your reputation if the dwarves had to heal you back because of a sparring match getting out of control. Tell your friend to spar lightly - if she refuses, don't stand for her demands. Leave the room if she insists."

(Sparring with Daitzsa normally grants 150 XP. This is a special event, so the amount is increased to 300 XP.)

A weary sigh escapes your lips after hearing Hawkodesh's warning. Sparring lightly or not makes no difference in your case. You're an omega, the weakest gnoll of the pack, and you'll never improve...

“Why are you so quiet?! I told you to get in position!” Daitzsa pressures you, unaware that your mind is being flooded by two opposing voices at once.

“Don’t bother with me, Datz.” You try to help her realize that sparring with you is a waste of time. “A loser like me will never become strong. You’re better off training alone…”

Your friend looks exasperated by your dispirited words – even if they’re true. “Stop this nonsense, will you?!” she snarls at you. “Come on, let’s fight! No holding back!”

“But… but I’m no match for you” you insist. “Are you sure about this?”

Datz gives you a dangerous blank stare, one that indicates she's reaching the limits of her patience. “Don't. Make. Me. Repeat myself, Hyenus.”

Your friend wants to give it all she’s got in this duel, convinced that there’s more to you than meets the eye. You fear that she ends up disappointed after kicking your sorry ass and realizing she was mistaken… but you can’t bring yourself to turn her down. She just wants to cheer you up in her own special way. If this is the only way to appease her, then you’re ready to deal with the shame of the inevitable outcome.

“Fine. Let’s do things your way.” You finally cede to her request. Her vile smirk and crazy eyes reveal that she can’t wait to begin the combat. The same can’t be said for the birdy guide residing in your soul, though, as his exalted voice immediately rings out in your head. “Hyenus! Why are you agreeing to this?! Think about the consequences!”

Hawkodesh will have to accept the dynamics between you and Datz, whether he likes them or not. Upholding your bond is far more important than what he and the dwarves think of your actions. “Sorry, Hawkodesh” you tell the concerned angel. “We’ll try not to make a huge mess.”

“W-what?” he responds, shocked by your disobedience. “NO! This is a terrible idea! The dwarves won’t be hap-“ You cut the communication link before hearing any of his advice. It’s unneeded.

“Yeah! Don’t stick your beak where it doesn’t belong!” Datz leans on your chest and scowls the angel, noticing by your words that he was against her idea of a sparring match.

You and Datz position yourselves for battle, each one in opposite sides of the room.

Seeing all the furniture hampering your free movement concerns you a bit. Nothing will remain unscathed after this fight, and you doubt the dwarves will appreciate that. Maybe you shouldn’t dismiss the entirety of Hawkodesh’s advice. Arthur mentioned that the barracks are the dwarves’ training hall, so that ought to be a better place for heavy sparring…

Daitzsa begins running in circles around the room, ruining all the furniture in a matter of seconds! Just like in your first sparring match in the cavern, her speed creates multiple afterimages of herself behind her step. Her mastery of this technique allows her to execute it even within this small enclosure!

You try to find the real Datz among the afterimages, but it’s incredibly difficult with just one eye. Launching yourself at one of the images and hitting the real one is a matter of luck!

Alright, you’ve got to use your brain here. She’s circling you in an attempt to disorient you, but this also gives you crucial seconds to plan your next move!

Datz is only as strong as the average Bloodseeker, but she’s fast and great at dodging incoming strikes. Aside from her Afterimage technique, her attacks are fairly simple and generally aiming for the face, without caring much to do feints or what opponent might have under his sleeve. Despite the simplicity of her tactics, they usually works pretty well due to her blitzing speed not allowing her enemies to react in time…

Landing your attacks on her will be difficult, unless you make a clever feint. Her combat prowess shines only when she wields a spear – hand to hand combat has never been one of her strong points. That means you’re at an advantage here!

You still have your wings and Feral Speed at your disposal. Activating them in the middle of combat will require a great deal of focus, though, and she might attack you while you’re at it. You’ll have to either push your concentration to the limits or get her in a position where you have several seconds to activate your powers without being interrupted!

“What’s the matter, Hyeny? Is my speed too much for you to handle?! HAHAHAHAAAA!!!”

Alright, that’s enough planning! You need to act before she attacks you!

I ask for 2d100 since it makes things easier to track for me (and it's less posts) but it's true that it's basically just two separate 1d100s.

I'll make an exception for now and count these rolls >>4862249 >>4862251 because crits are too narratively cool to ignore, but in the future please use 2d100

===== COMBAT LOG =====

Hyenus' Accuracy: 33 AGI * 113 Roll * 3 CRIT = 11187 Accuracy
Daitzsa's Evasion: 40 AGI * 52 Roll = 2080 Evasion
(Hyenus' Accuracy is greater than Daitzsa's Evasion. Hyenus' attack connects)
Damage dealt to Daitzsa: 16 STR * 3 CRIT = 48 Damage

(Daitzsa is Wounded. -5 to all combat rolls and -10% STR and AGI)

Daitzsa's Accuracy: 36 AGI * 65 Roll = 2340 Accuracy
Hyenus' Evasion: 33 AGI * 72 Roll = 2376 Evasion
(Daitzsa's Accuracy is lower than Hyenus' Evasion. Daitzsa's attack fails)

so what's the story result? Hyenus' attack on Daitza is a total no-contest, but Hyenus' face-protecting is a ridiculous close-call?

This is it! You'll make sure to keep your head well protected and wait until Datz charges at you! Her speed may be amazing, but if you push your concentration to the limits and use all your senses to predict her movements, you CAN dodge her attacks! It's only a matter of paying attention!

"SURPRISE!!!" Daitzsa suddenly interrupts her afterimage technique and lunges at you with her claws out, convinced that you're too disoriented to dodge her strike in time! Just like you predicted, she goes right for your face!

Her defenses are exposed! This is the perfect chance to retaliate before she gets a hit on you!

You nimbly crouch and sweep her legs with great accuracy and strength! This is a technique that you used frequently as a kid - it seems that you still remember how to execute it properly!

Both of Daitzsa's legs are knocked off balance! "Huh?!" she yells, confused by your unexpected counter-attack as she awkwardly falls to the floor!

Nope, you won't let her touch the floor. She'll immediately roll away, stand up and attack you again. You won't give a single second to recover from this!

You quickly grab her tail mid-air, handling her entire weight in your right arm. "W-what?! What are you doing?!" Daitzsa shouts, surprised by your actions!

- 1st die is your Accuracy roll, 1d100 - 1 (-10 Missing eye, -10 Activating a power, +19 Hand to Hand)
- 2nd die is your Evasion roll, 1d100 - 14 (-10 Missing eye, -10 Activating a power, +6 Evasion)
- 3rd die is your Wrestling roll, 1d100

(After you guys roll for Hyenus, I'll roll for Daitzsa's accuracy, evasion and wrestling score)

====================

NOTE: An explanation on how wrestling works. When you attempt to grapple or wrestle an opponent, both battlers will do a Wrestling roll, which is then multiplied by each one's respective STR. You need a Wrestling score higher than your target's in order to successfully wrestle it.

First of all though, your Accuracy needs to be higher than your opponent's Evasion in order to put it in the wrestling hold. This means that if you score lower in either Accuracy, Wrestling or both, your grappling move fails

>>
Rolled 64, 72, 43, 49, 66, 16, 35, 2, 46 = 393 (9d100)

Rolling for Daitzsa:

- 1st, 2nd and 3rd die are the Accuracy roll. 1d100 - 2, best of 3 (-5 Wounded, +3 Hand to Hand)

- 4th, 5th and 6th die are the Evasion roll. 1d100 + 15, best of 3 (-5 Wounded, +20 Evasion)

- 7th, 8th and 9th die are the Wrestling roll. 1d100 - 5 (-5 Wounded)

====================

>>4862835
The thing about the penalty is that even if activating the power succeeds, it still takes attention from you during that turn that could be put in dodging and aiming your attacks better.

Once you level up your Focus high enough (40), activating your powers will always be auto-success and without incurring any penalty to your combat rolls.

Oh yeah! You feel SO much better with yourself now! Datz is right - maybe you aren’t as weak as you thought! If she was impressed by your display of strength and speed, then you can’t wait to see her reaction to your powers!

That's right - It’s time to give your babe a taste of NATURE! You put all your focus into activating the special gift that Luna granted you: the power of Feral Speed! “AwoooOOOOOooooOOO!!!”

>Hyenus’ AGI: 41

As expected, Daitzsa looks amazed by your usage of this godly energy! “That- that’s the same power you used when we escaped the cavern!” she exclaims, recalling that horrible incident. “I... I sense Luna’s blessing upon you! Now I recognize it!”

“Yeah! So what’d you think of this, huh?!”

Daitzsa lowers her guard for a second, contemplating your figure. Her eyes are watery for some reason… is she sad? "You look beautiful” she murmurs, her gaze revealing great admiration. “I don’t know why, but your aura, your howl... they fill me with nostalgia, Hyeny.”

Realizing that she’s getting distracted, she slaps herself to focus back on the battle!

“So Luna is granting you her powers, huh? Let’s see how much good that does for you!” Datz does a taunting gesture! “Try me if you dare, Hyenus!”

Not hesitating to do as she says, you immediately lunge at your friend with your new, incredible speed! This time you’ll go for a more aggressive approach – you’ll grab her wrists and wrestle her to the floor, the ultimate way to assert dominance over one's opponent!"

“OOOOOOWWWW!!!” Damn it! She managed to hit you right in the guts!

>Hyenus’ HP: 124 / 145 (85%, Wounded)

“You’re faster now, Hyeny... but that's STILL not enough to beat my speed!” Datz provokes you after landing her strike! That punch hurt so bad that it makes you cough blood, but at least you managed to avoid running straight into her fists. That would’ve ended up inflicting even more damage to you!

Datz let her guard down! This is the perfect chance to grab her wrists and subdue her! You immediately step back away from her fist – which is still on your guts -, then with a quick movement, you manage to grab both of her hands before she can do anything to retaliate!

“Gotcha! You’re MINE now!” Face to face, you assert your dominance over Datz! Your bewildered friend struggles to break free of your strong grip, but to no avail! The scout may be agile, nimble and graceful, but in a contest of pure strength, she’s like a poor defenseless kitty!

“I'm happy that we're doing this again, Datz." This is more than a simple battle to you. more than just a way to assert dominance. No… this means much more to you and Datz. Even if you have trouble explaining it with words.

“Hyeny…” she mumbles under her breath. “I can feel the blessing of the woods upon us. Luna knows we haven’t abandoned our roots as natural predators to become demon minions like the rest of our kind…”

A suspicious grin appears on Datz’s face. “Luna’s energy dwells within me. And if you can control it...”

Daitzsa's Accuracy: 45 AGI * 72 Roll = 3240 Accuracy
Hyenus' Evasion: 41 AGI * 66 Roll = 2706 Evasion
(Daitzsa's Accuracy is greater than Hyenus' Evasion. Daitzsa's attack connects)
Damage dealt to Hyenus: 12 STR * 1,2 Bite to the face * 0.7 Graze = 10 Damage

Hyenus' Wrestling: 16 STR * 75 Roll = 1200 Wrestling
Daitzsa's Wrestling: 12 STR * 84 Roll = 1008 Wrestling

So she's at 81/145 hp. We just need one more good hit on her.
>>
>>4863663
Nah she took advantage Hyenus spent his time doing nothing after tackling her down to activate her own feral speed. She even had time to do her own monologue.
>>
>>4863688
Oh didn't though it would count, though she had pulled a fast one on us.
>>
>>4863688
Where does the graze from Daitza attack come from?
>>
>>4863689
>>4863690
Honestly, I think it's clear that we won. Just get our teeth into her neck (lightly) and be done with it. We're going to need her to clean up the room and change clothes while we wash our face and go to the alchemist to get two health potions for the both of us.
>>
>>4863691
Honestly that's what I was going for, but looking back at the recent update, Hyenus activated Feral Speed without Daitzsa attacking him and yet I still gave him the accuracy / evasion penalties for his charge afterwards, so I wanted to make things consistent.

In future battles I'll make it so that if your opponent gives you time to activate your powers (ala DBZ), you won't receive a roll penalty or need to do a Focus roll.

>>4863697
It's based on this >>4851376

Basically, if the attacker's Accuracy is equal to the target's Evasion, it's a hit for 50% damage (0,5 Graze) This goes up by 1% for every 1% that Accuracy surpasses Evasion, up to 100% (a solid hit).

In this case, 3240 Accuracy is about 20% greater than 2706 Evasion, so the amount of damage of the Daitzsa's graze is increased to 70% (0,7 Graze).

If you guys have any questions about these mechanics always feel free to ask.
>>
>>4863707
God I hope theres a bucket of water in this room.

>>4863709
Anything in this room we could use to clean up? We didnt cause any damage to the room did we?
>>
>>4863707
Ah yes, let's just lightly bite her throat out. What a great idea. There's no way this could possibly do anything other than playfully subdue her.
>>
>>4863736
>let's just lightly bite her throat out

Not what I said, but it would get her to stop before we do more harm to one another. Making it obvious that we're superior to her and have her at our mercy should be more than enough to finish this fight.

There are no buckets in the room, but In case you need cold, refreshing, bacteria free Dwarven Lake Freshwater™ you can go to the bathroom to the north of where you're standing.

The room itself isn't too damaged but it's messy (I'll show the aftermatch later). You can use some rags to try to clean up the mess after the fight
>>
>>4863744
Sex first, then clean up.
>>
>>4863763
I'm sure this will be much more excused if we explained to the dwarfs this is how Gnoll sex works.

As opposed to we just decided to have a fight so we'd be happier with the fact we're capable of fighting.
>>
>>4863771
This. Knoll sex is kinky as fuck. Who ever wins gets to dom, unless you want to be the bottom then your automatically the bottom.
The problem arises when both party's want to be bottoms.
>>
>>4863744
We should clean up both ourselves and the room as much as possible before we have to return to the meeting. We really need to return to a presentable state.
>>
>>4863837
We can get the buckets ourselves, but I'd much rather get ourselves some heath potions from the alchemist to fix up some of the damage we've done to ourselves.
>>
>>4863763
If Daitzsa doesn’t put out then we go to Farren and ask if he has any bucks for us to break
>>
>>4863744
Oh no qm the fight has awoken the coomers
>>
Unironically knowing what happened with the cave sparring sesh, I don't think doin it is crazy- though I'd rather it be a tasteful fade to black than actual smut if we go that direction
>>
>>4863874
>implying we have time for actual smut

We have less than two hours to ourselves, and I want to clean up the room and make ourselves presentable before we deal with the dwarves again.
>>
>>4863874
Unless the species of Hyenus is as quick as a whale, then I doubt that we would make it
>>
Sorry; I don't play, I just browse.
>>
>>4863779
I don't think we SHOULD have sex in this case.

I'm just saying it'd probably be significantly more acceptable to whomever comes to get us than "we decided to fight in this room"

Sex is the obvious choice. We need those sweet gains for an exp boost.

Even in her helpless position, Daitzsa is set on to keep fighting, refusing to acknowledge you as the clear victor of this duel!

“Submit! You already lost!” you command the fierce scout to surrender and stop her futile resistance, but your demands are met with a scowl. “This isn’t over until I say so!” Datz huffs and kicks her legs in an outburst of feral rage, determined to fight until the very end!

Despite not having the strength to break free of your grip, she’ll never admit that you have won until you weaken her completely. It’s the only way to make her realize that you are the greater warrior!

“Don’t underestimate me! MWAHAHAHA… haha… ha… oooowwwooo… ouch…”

Your friend’s evil laughter comes to a sudden halt, being replaced by a feeble whimper of pain that makes your heart stop beating for a second. The sight of Daitzsa’s bloody face withdraws your desire to fight - it's time to end this. You had your deal of fun, and your dominance over her is asserted. Beating her up any further is unneeded...

And yet, Datz's stubbornness prevents her from giving up. You can see in her eyes that she's putting a great deal of effort to keep up with you, as if she wanted to make you happy for hurting her like this.

“Enough. This fight is over” you confidently assert to your crazy friend, but your words fall into deaf ears, as she continues to struggle fruitlessly. “No… not yet!” she exclaims, a faint smile appearing on her blood-covered face. “I-I still haven’t shown you how fast I can be with Luna’s boon! I… I just need to get you off me and… oww… and I’ll show you what I’m really capable of!”

As she finishes saying those words, Daitzsa begins to struggle much, much harder than before, as if a sudden rush of energy revitalized her. It's considerably more difficult to keep your grip on her wrists now! If you want to end this duel, you better do it in the next move, or else you might actually find yourself in trouble if she manages to break free!

Health potions lad. May not fix everything but we can fix some of the scrapes and superficial damage lads.

Ayo anons we still have our wings
>>
>>4864466
That is true, its time to learn ONE WINGED COMBAT
>>
>>4864466
It is not right for us to wield Anu's blessings for such a uncouth fight that we were warned against accepting by his own angel. Besides, OP told us that using them doesn't train any of our combat skills.
>>
>>4864483
Agreed. Let’s dish it out for hand to hand xp
>>
Question QM, how strong are the wings compared to our fists and kicks?
>>
>>4864493
They hit with a force equal to 150% of your Strength.

In the previous thread I stated that using them carries a -10 accuracy penalty to your rolls, but I figured that it nerfs them too much so I want to change that bit: using them carries no inherent penalty for your accuracy.

Only real issue with using the wings as a weapon is that as anon said, they don't train any skills nor benefit from any offensive skill in particular.
>>
>>4864509
Forgot to say. Even if wings don't benefit from the inherent roll bonus granted by a skill, you can still use them strategically depending on the context to gain a bonus to your rolls, just like certain combat moves are more effective than others
>>
It got a bit late for me I'm afraid, so I'll post the next round in 16-18 hours. Sorry for only updating once today, still getting the hang of making the math calcs fast.

The battle should definitely conclude tomorrow though. There's only one combat prompt remaining, and that will decide who wins, as the 5 turns will have passed by then.
>>
>>4864617
Math calcs from University?, good luck
>>
Make a feint jab to one side, then spin to catch her with aa combo when she dodges. Hyenus has typically been a straight forward fighter. making a fake attack will be unexpected. Then we can jump her!
>>
>>4864620
No no, I was speaking about the math calcs of this battle hahahah. It's not that they're difficult to do but keeping track of the rolls, modifiers and scores without getting them wrong, I still need to get used to that and doing it faster
>>
So is this fighting all for nothing? What are you guys doing? Just fight.
>>
>>4864762
Its bonding
>>
god the dwarves are going to be disgusted looking at us after this
>>
>>4864813

>>
>>4864762
It is totally pointless. We're not even training our actual weapon skill, only our unarmed skill.
>>
>>4865045
Well, we are leveling focus, evasion, our special skills, and QM said we're getting a bunch of extra xp for this spar. While I agree that sparring all out like this is ill-advised, it's not without benefits.

It satisfies and makes Daitza happy.

>>
>>4865757
She currently has 13 STR. You have 14 STR.

By the way anons, Daitzsa's aereal kick will deal 130% of her STR in damage. This is 17 HP damage if it fully connects. Just in case you guys consider this bit of info important for your decision or changing your votes.

The accuracy roll for Daitzsa will only determine if he gets hit by the kick in the process.

Daitzsa's Accuracy: 45 AGI * 96 Roll = 4320 Accuracy
Hyenus' Evasion: 37 AGI * 86 Roll = 3182 Evasion
(Daitzsa's Accuracy is greater than Hyenus' Evasion. Daitzsa's aereal kick connects)
Damage dealt to Hyenus: 13 STR * 1,3 Aereal Kick * 0,85 Graze = 14 Damage

Hyenus' Accuracy: 37 AGI * 76 Roll = 2812 Accuracy
Daitzsa's Evasion: 45 AGI * 60 = 2700 Evasion
(Hyenus' Accuracy is greater than Daitzsa's Evasion. Hyenus' leg grab succeeds)
Damage dealt to Daitzsa: 14 STR * 1,2 Slam against the floor = 16 Damage
(Graze is not counted as a factor in this attack)

Daitzsa's HP: 65 / 145 (45%, Severely wounded)
Hyenus' HP: 82 / 145 (57%, Wounded)

Daitzsa has less than 50% HP. Hyenus wins the match

Writing the update

What would the choice be if Daitzsa won?
>>
>>4865837
Do you require funny censor images that are euphemisms for things.
>>
Gonna prevote if I can since I'll tap out for bed soon, consider me pro boning assuming it'll be tasteful and we won't have to read smut

I propose this one

Pounce and nibble the neck and nape! Grip and gently shake if needed.

That's not a picture of a knotted rope or a hotdog, anon.
>>

For some reason i thought that you asked for actual censors, god, my english sucks

You'd get the same choice but with different dialogue leading to it. Physical strength is not the only thing she loves about you.

>>4865869
Ahh yes I remember this happened in Lioncat quest. Anyway, it's not needed right now. If you pick the choice I won't draw or write anything of explicit nature but I'll still do something more than a simple fade to black.

Will we still get the S-EXP? I think Hyenus could train his unarmed and weapons skill.

Goddamn, is Hyenus going to level up twice?
>>
>>4866163
Turns out we heal when we level now
Between of light an hyenus is completely unharmed
Dwarf walks in on domestic abuse
>>
>>4866163
Yeah, and easily. We'll only need 25xp to level up after that to level 7.
>>
>>4866180
I forget- what else happens when we level up? Do our stats go up?
>>
>>4866180
Well shit. If that's the case. We should probably go to the bathhouse to grab a bucket to clean off some of the blood on our friend before going to the Alchemist for potions. We should be mindful of the anomaly in the halls.
>>
>>4866180
Dont worry, it was wholesome consensual abuse.
>>
>>4866180
Oh fuck, after we level up, we should self damage us so that they don't get suspicious, and we say "sorry doc, this is how Gnoll sex works"
>>
Would Daitza heal too if she levels up or is that just us because Anu powers?
>>
>>4866081
The only logical conclusion is that gnolls have dog pp.

Shame on everyone drawing Hyenus with a human pp.

pp
>>
>>4866180
Wait a moment. How much xp does Daitza gain???
>>
>>4866499
Probably a quarter the rate we do?

Our skill gain modifier is bonkers, which lets us do in a month what would take others many more.

Brooooooos. Remember when QM said that the strength boosting potion would make us get gains faster (correct me if I'm misinterpreting or misremembering what he said) by consuming strength boosting consumables? The Boar Salad gives up a +10% to strength for I think an hour or greater, and the Strength Potion gives us +30% to strength. It was +50% earlier in the thread, I dont remember why he downgraded it by -20%. Regardless if we keep eating Boar and drinking a pre-workout Strength Potions, Hyenus will get so much fucking mass. A +40-60% strength bonus?
https://youtu.be/f_iqM6iy7sY
>>
>>4866584
OH SHIT, I REMEMBER HEARING THAT, WE CAN GET SWOLE SOON, maybe it helps to daitza too, but obviously in a lesser rate
>>
I'm still writing / drawing the update, should be ready by tomorrow.

By the way, you don't actually heal from leveling up. You gain HP but it's relative to the percentage of health you're currently at, so you stay just as wounded.

Daitzsa does get stronger over time, but at a much, much lower rate than you do. She'll level up eventually but you won't see it very often.

>>4866584
Yeah that's exactly it. Greater strength lets you do heavier exercising, which nets you more XP. The potion downgrade from 50% to 30% is a nerf cause it was a tad too strong numbers wise for a novice recipe.
>>
>>4867354
How many times it takes Daitzsa to level up in her skills compared to us?
>>
>>4867358
It takes her about 5x the time.

>>4866213
Your HP, STR and AGI go up
>>
>>4867382
5 times*
>>
>>4867383
I dont care if you fade to black. Make the sex happen. If they wanna save themselves for gnoll marriage, then R69 it or something.
>>
>>4867382
So our combat training factor is about 5-6x~ a normally talented fighter?

Wonder how well we can grow in academic pursuits vs a decent academic.
>>
>>4867382
So in theory, the Boar Salad and Strength Potion (Novice) will let Hyenus train 7x times faster than the average potion? Naraly.
Potion Seller I am going into battle and I need your strongest strength potion.
>>
>>4867649
using the library the dwarves have better be on our to-do list for later to test that out
>>
>>4866584
Eat protein, drink supplement, and LIFT
>>
At this point we need to think not just about Hyenus training, we need to think in Daitzsa training, and possibly, future allies, so probably we need to start creating a more solid plan on what to do
>>
>>4868089
I think an obvious addition to the party is the dwarf guy that was supposed to be the champion. He's been friendly to us and seems pretty stronk

After that, wouldn't help to get someone who's good at ranged combat- or to better our throwing skill and become a ranger fighter ourselves
>>
>>4868123
I think that we should soon get the Wolf Slayer as an ally, because if Gunyx has the same objectives given by Gnolrek, and he completes the task of killing a baby humie and the Wolf Slayer, then he may become way to overpowered and kill all the Dwarfs, if we can at least stop one of those two objectives, then maybe we can get a big advantage over him
>>
>>4868143
Who is the Wolf Slayer?
>>
>>4868165
When Gnorlek gave us three objectives to save Daitzsa from his demonic assholness one of the objectives was to kill the Wolf Slayer, someone that betrayed his pack, I remind you all too, for each objective from Gnorlek that is completed, the champion gets great powers
>>
>>4868171
Killing a baby, and killing the slayer. I agree with you on recruiting them. What's the last objective?
>>
>>4868176
Killing ALL of the dwarfs, making a genocide out of them, if we think about it that way, then we can assume that the rewards of the objectives are fucking massive to give the champion the power to destroy an entire race of at least a thousand of them with powers that can make him weaker
>>
>>4868171
>>4868181
You guys made a good point, once we done with Daitza we should inquire this with Hawkodash, we get the dwarfs but what about the other objectives? Maybe he can give us some divine guidance also say sorry for ignoring him, we know he was trying to help us and we appreciate that.
>>
Just realized we never even tested the wings lol

Just a few more pics!!! Sorry for the unusually long delay.
In the extreme case I STILL don't manage to finish this in under an hour, I'll post the update tomorrow at 15:00 EST max, most likely earlier

Hype!

Why the long delay?, but otherwise, TIME FOR THE DECISION THAT EVERYONE EXPECTS
>>
>>4868998
It was a bit harder to plan and write than other updates, mostly due to the nature of the interaction that takes place.
