Your name is (Whatever your name is), and some way or another, you've discovered the egg of a digital creature! If you choose to accept it, it'll become your duty to raise the little creature within, attend to its needs, and raise it into a prime adult specimen. And eventually, you'll be able to take it to the GRAND TOURNAMENT, and pit it against the champions that other Anons have raised. But be warned! Taking care of a virtual pet is a bit of a time commitment. Treat it well, and it'll grow up just fine. But neglect it too much, and it may evolve sloppy, or even die of starvation or disease. Heya. Welcome to Virtual Pet Quest. This is a quest based on the process of raising a Tamagotchi, Digimon, or some other kind of virtual pet. Rather than raising one communal creature, I'll open it up to only a small group, and you can get your own personalised creature. I can't take too many players, because I'll be making sprites, events, evolutions, and all that, so maybe the most I could do is 8 players. Basically, once the egg hatches, you guys will be able to interact with your little creature, feed it, keep it healthy, etc. Over time, it'll need food or cleaning, and I'll post in the thread with such updates.>Rules & How it works:-Use a secure Tripcode (Name##Password) to mark yourself as the owner of your pet.-I'm in GMT +8 time zone, so active hours will be relative to a waking day in that time zone. Relevant since you'll need to report in to clean and feed your creature. Leaving it unattended for 9 hours after the post will count as a care mistake for the creature, which will have negative effects. So you might get screwed over just because of time zones and sleep.-Your pet will eventually develop a sort of personality, depending on your treatment of it. It'll evolve further, go on adventures and be able to battle others through a dice system that I'm still working out.-I'm still working out the system as I go, so I'm sorry if things get sloppy or take a while. >How to begin:Get the egg sprite. Use the 32x32 resolution version, and draw on it. Your etchings will determine the appearance of your starting creature. Furthermore, choose a single word (Like 'Fire', 'Dragon', 'Plant', 'Astronaut', 'Boxer') to add on to the description. Please don't draw on the big version, upscale the 32x32 after to make it easier to see. And don't choose a word that's too weird to make something reasonable. I'm gonna be working hard on making passable sprites and pixel art, so I don't want to have to come up with something for a creature whose prompt is 'anus' or something.I'll then provide your creature, and you can change your name to fit it or something. The creatures will get a random type: Vaccine, Virus, or Data, which are strong against each other in left-to-right order.
Here's the Egg sprite, use this one to draw on for your starter.
And a bigger, nicer to look at starting post at double the resolution.
>>4981267This could actually be fun. As for my one word lets go with armor. I'm not great at drawing though so this will do for my scribbles
>>4981396And I forgot the image, great start
>>4981398>>4981263Hell yeah. Armor is a cool sounding one, but please use the 32x32 one instead of the big one. It's meant to provide a limited size palette for the design.
>>4981402Bleh, super unclear. I meant to say, zoom in and do the drawings on the 32x32 version before upscaling it, so that any drawings or additions can fit 1:1 on the egg.
>>4981408It sure is! One moment while your creature incubates...
>>4981418>>4981263I'm kidding, use this egg, prompt: Guitar
>>4981418I actually had a budding creature design in mind for this already, because I expected someone to submit amogus. Guitar sounds fun!
Rolled 3, 2 = 5 (2d3)>>4981408>>4981422
>>4981411Oh, what's this? Blacksmith's Pet is hatching! Look at that egg jiggle...
>>4981465Helmsbuck has hatched! This Data type digital creature forms armour from trace metal data in the environment. They coat their little bodies with it, and have a bad habit of overestimating their own durability. They have justice-filled hearts, and aspire to fight evil. Unfortunately, they're Data types, and not well-suited to slaying Virus-type digiforms. And as with all newborns, Helmsbuck is Hungry and requires immediate feeding! Just check in with an acknowledgement to feed it.Hope you enjoy your little friend. I'll finish the Guitar one before coming up with activities.
>>4981474Could've sworn I uploaded the big version...
>>4981422>>4981461This egg has musical data and waveforms within it. However, a mistake has been made in the formation of its egg. Such a process is the most common way of Viral creatures forming. In this case, the uploading of the image as a .jpg has corrupted the incubating creature.
>>4981475Time to feed
>>4981493Aight, your little fella is considered properly fed. Just as a bonus! Can you name two types of food that you'd like to feed it?One as standard fare that'll comprise its diet, the other as a special treat. Same request from !!r/vc3wCQNlZ >>4981422.
>>4981481The second Virtual pet is about to hatch! Let's see how this plays out...
sorry for the bit of an amateurish drawing but here's one, the word is Bird
>>4981518Well going by the name it seems to be based on a deer so gras(regular) and alfalfa (treat)
>>4981260Word Prompt: Kraken
>>4981522Strumling has hatched! Fortunately, despite being a Viral type and having an incompatible egg format, the theme was coherent and clear enough to bring it back into solidity. These Viral creatures thrash about by riversides, making loud noises that scare away prospective predators. They wear their emotions on their sleeve, and the waveform atop their head is constantly fluctuating with their mood. Strumling is Hungry! Same deal, lemme know what he'll be fed regularly.
Rolled 3, 2 = 5 (2d3)>>4981527>>4981533
>>4981527Ah, this one looks rather lively! It's hopping up and down, clearly eager to break free.
>>4981567Out of the egg hatches Strathawk! This species favours cliffs. They're very poor fliers, and strive to take to the skies once they grow up. Their bladed wings are shaped like an aerofoil. These excitable creatures grab anything they find and use them to bomb prey. Sometimes, they even end up snatching eggs from nests and dropping them by accident. As usual, the baby is Hungry.
>>4981570Nice little baby birdy, i shall feed you lemmings(main) and wheat(treat)
>>4981533The egg of this creature begins to hatch. It's naturally a viral specimen, rather than being corrupted like the earlier one. Seems like it's bursting out of its egg from within.
>>4981601Bursting from within is Ikado! This species prefers beaches, and they cling to rocks with suction cups beneath their flippers. They possess a sharp beak, that they use to inject noxious viral data into enemies. Mm baby Hungry.I won't be available to make more creatures for now, unfortunately. Will still count the next 4 submissions though.
>>4981481>a mistake has been made in the formation of its egg.Interesting. Lets put some happy data on this egg and see what happens.>>4981263W̸i̷n̵d̷
>>4981603Well Ikado, let's get you fed. How about some fish (main) and a nice tasty Crab (treat) to celebrate your hatching?
Rolled 1 (1d3)>>4981607Rolling its type~
Hello everyone, this is my egg, my future monster, his word is "Destiny"
>>4981625And here is a bigger image for better visualization of the egg
Rolled 2 (1d3)>>4981625
>>4981474>>4981535>>4981570>>4981603After feeding, the babies have to get rid of fragmented data somehow. And that means a steaming pile of digishit. The Helmsbuck, Strumling, Strarhawk, and Ikado have Pooped and require a check-in to clean! And that's all for me from tonight, will be a day or so before I can do these two eggs. Apologies. >>4981607>>4981625
>>4981522Oh no.. he's retarded>>4981535You're good-looking , I like you littlely (boy?)>Feed him Pasta as (main)>Let him enjoy flakes of Grana Padano as (treat), if it's not available ham is fine>Virtually pet
>>4981635>Clean the pile of shit
>>4981635well, time to clean his poop and might as well feed him as well just so i could get a sound sleep
>>4981607I decided to pull an all-nighter, so I'm getting to these last two eggs for now. Sorry about not being able to make the hatching animation. TEXT CORRECTION IN PROGRESS:INDEXING TERMW̸i̷n̵d̷DEFINITION NOT FOUNDNOUN?VERB?RECONSTRUCTION TERMW̸i̷nd̷W̸i̷ndWindVERB3.make (a clock or other device, typically one operated by clockwork) operate by turning a key or handle.
>>4981673Due to the disruption of the Digital lifeform's birth-term, the less obvious definition of it has been chosen, rather than the affinity with Wind that might have spawned prior. It results in Clocktick! This creature has a hole in its abdomen, that a brass key fits into. It has to constantly turn this key to remain in motion, and if it loses it, it flies into a panic. As a Vaccine-type entity, it consumes Viral data and keeps Data organisms safe. The feelers on its head slowly rotate along with the turning of its key, and when it makes a complete round, it marks that it's ready to evolve. You know the drill, check in to feed the baby. It's hungry.
>>4981625And here's Destiny about to hatch...
>>4981680While Virus types (such as Strumling) tend to be wild and aggressive, Doracle is calm and composed. One could almost call it noble. It's said that when its fringe falls over its eye, it can see several minutes into the future, and read the destiny of those around it. It can keep calm in a battle, since it's able to predict when it's about to win. On the other hand, however, it flies into a panic if it sees that it's going to lose, and gets sloppy in its blind attempt to fix it. Speaking of which, the hungry creature reads the future and sees that it's going to be fed. Right? Right?
And just a little update on everybody's creatures! Yeah I just stole this background directly from a Digimon game instead of spriting it. Once I'm up tomorrow, I'll do some mini adventures, etc that you guys can go on, to earn money and purchase amenities for your little creatures. Or even move them to specialised, custom farms, instead of a communal ranch. Battle mechanic incoming too.
>>4981675Checking in.Not sure what I should feed this guy. Possibly Clockwork Gears as standard food and Live Viral Organisms as a treat.
>>4981682>Introduce myself to my little monster>Tell him that his reading was correct, that he is in fact getting fed>For standard food, he will get all kinds of general meat (if just one type, then chicken)>For treats, he will get lasagna>Pat him in the head
>>4981724The little fella is appreciative of the headpat. Watch the horn when petting, though! Chicken seems like just the thing for a meat-eater. It seems like the food has gone right through it, though. Soon enough, it makes a mess! >>4981528A diet of grass seems decent enough for a herbivorous creature. As the oldest creature, Helmsbuck is starting to exercise on its own, and is leaping around the ranch. While punching and kicking, it ends up smashing a bush. The creature looks guilty after the accidental feat of strength.>Praise>Scold>Nothing>Other (Write-In)>>4981582The Strathawk snaps up the digital lemmings. It seems like the live food provides it constant enrichment. However, it develops the rather concerning habit of playing with its meals, and disembowelling them before eating. What will you do regarding this?>Encourage>Reprimand>Nothing>Other (Write-In)>>4981611Perfect! The little fella slurps up the digital fish, breaking them apart into unstable fragments. However, its waste from earlier >>4981635 hasn't been cleaned up after a short period. It's still well within an acceptable range to leave it be, and it won't count as neglect for a while longer. However, that time has been enough for the creature to start... playing with it. It's making a huge mess, mucking up the water and smearing it across the ground. Letting this continue might spark a behavioural issue, but being too harsh in scolding it might send a bad message as well. It's up to you to find a middle ground.>Reprimand>Nothing>Encourage (Why would you-)>Other (Write-In)>>4981637At first, the aggressive Strumling is hesitant to eat pasta. It ends up enjoying the taste, though! As a naturally harsh creature, this diet might help temper its aggression. And speaking of aggression, it's currently blaring its chords and vocalizing in the water. This is natural behaviour, but is a bit of a bother to the other creatures and owners.>Attempt to curb it>Nothing>Encourage its singing.>Other (Write-In)>>4981690Clockwork components are integrated directly into it, allowing it to repair wear and tear from within. After eating, however, it leaves piles of scrap rust around, that are jagged, hazardous, and crackling with trace viral data. Clocktick and Doracle have Pooped and require cleaning.
>>4981737>Clean his poopQuick question, can the monsters after evolving, change of attribute?
>>4981737>Clean>Test how far the wind up mechanism will go before becoming overwinded
>>4981745>Give him a towel too, so that he can clean really well his horn, one must be proud of his horn after all
>>4981635Clean up that poop before...>>4981737..whoops, too late. I give it a gentle scolding for playing with it's own mess, then clean up the poop from Ikado's habitat, then clean Ikado itself. If I can, I will give it a more interesting toy to play with (a ball? a leaf? really, anything...) and stay with Ikado until the next time in needs to poop... and then see if I can train it in a litterbox, or even just to avoid a repeat. If it does well, it will get a crab!
>>4981745Yep, that's possible. >>4981762Clocktick's mechanism eventually stalls, and you're quite sure that twisting it further will damage it. When you release it, however, the creature goes into overdrive. It zips around in laps, its speed doubling the whole time.Once it's over, however, it collapses onto the ground and begins twitching. Seems like doing this will tire it out severely. Unique Ability!Clocktick may be wound up before battles, which gives it increased Attack, but has a 33% chance of lingering aftereffects.
>>4981806Meant to attach this. Augh.
>>4981769Doracle picks up the towel, and begins proudly polishing the horn with it. He seems pretty attached to the object immediately, and only time will tell what this will result in.
>>4981800Ikado blubbers sadly as it's reprimanded. The ball cheers it up though! And next time it poops, you're prepared to try conditioning it.
>>4981635Well that is the least fun part of pets but I guess I'd clean it up
>>4981737It's a natural behaviour, let him express himself at the sound of an uploaded tune: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9woa0eU2_4>Encourage its singing>Clean and feed
>>4981737>Other (Write-In):"There there it's alright. You're clearly strong, but be more careful in the future and don't go fighting the other creatures."
>>4981260Am I too late to claim an egg? Anyway, I will take a>noise egg
Rolled 1 (1d3)>>4981853I won't be able to get you your creature for quite a while, unfortunately. But you're not too late!
>>4981845>>4981846The gentle reassurance makes Helmsbuck feel a lot better, now that he realises he won't be scolded. He makes a half-hearted attempt to stick the tree back, but fails, and just wanders off to do something else. >>4981845Strumling, being a stubborn little thing, is resistant to trying out new music at first. But eventually, he starts vocalising a new cover of the song he's been introduced to. It's loud, proud, and audible to all the Monsters and Anons on the ranch.
>>4981862>As he walks away I stop him. "You can't fix it like that but we should at least clean it up, okay? Can you help me throw it out?"
>>4981875Helmsbuck halts, and quickly trots over to your side to assist! It’s strong enough to lift one half of the bush easily, and the two of you will be able to get it disposed of.Looks like the little buddy is learning some responsibility! That ought to influence its evolution. And with that, I gotta head to sleep, I think. Be gone for a couple hours.

>>4981853>>4982151Claimed! I’ll work on them when I can. >>4981888The other monsters are the ones owned by the other anons. Ideally, as the quest progresses, you and the others will end up clashing and fighting in tournaments against other digital creatures, to get stronger. Might be beneficial to make alliances early, or something.>>4982147Strathawk coos softly, and seems quite upset. But it immediately stops torturing the poor things. >>4981936Babies require food. And it’s not long before the creatures are [b]hungry[/b] again! Every creature starts making noise around the same time, chirping or squeaking while requesting food. IKADO, STRUMLING and STRATHAWK also poop, leaving a bit of a mess. Now that you guys have child-level Digital creatures, the wild lands outside of the ranch are open to you. So long as your creature isn’t in need of feeding, medicine, or cleaning, you may go out and adventure! Quests like this will provide opportunities for your creature to develop its personality further, and gain strength, but have a risk of injury. Multiple people visiting the same area will be considered as being in a party.>File Forest>Data Cove>PC Peaks
>>4982349First let's give Helmsbuck some breakfast, after we go explore the File Forest
>>4982349Grab some spare gears and move to the Data Cove.
>>4982375>>4982349Actually that's probably a silly idea and the data cove will have a bunch of Data creatures, because what else, and my pet has a weakness to that.Regardless of whether that guess is wrong though I'm going to the File Forest.
>>4982349Give Ikado some breakfast and clean up the poop. If it pooped in a litterbox-equivalent, it will get a crab.Afterward, we will go take a look at the Data Cove
>>4982349Alright StratHawk, let's clean your litter and feed you before we go to Data Cove
>>4982349"I'm back!""Come here little strumgliwly, I knowg you missged me""Today we'll go on an adventure strumlin so I brought for you an energitc meal">Feed him pasta Carbonara>Let him take a nap>Clean his shit>Wake him up and visit the Data Cove
>>4982463>>4982386>>498238Strathawk and Strumling are very eager to go.Strumling is overjoyed to see you too. Ikado has indeed shit in the box, becoming a little more disciplined from the reprimand. He enjoys the crab greatly. The three of you, together with your monsters, head down to Data Cove. It’s a wide area, with digital water splashing against the shores. You can see creatures leaping about in the waves. There’s also rumor of Cryptocurrency buried in this beach, from an old pirate creature. Plenty of activities to do here! Different activities will imbue your creatures with certain traits, and the things you do will influence their evolution and personality. For example, Strathawk might have become stronger, but more callous if allowed to keep disemboweling things. And Ikado has become more disciplined, but a bit more afraid of scoldings. >Go fishing (Will require a longer wait because I need to get home and make the enemies)>Relax >Search for food>Hunt for treasure >Write-InApologies for the long gaps between posts and all, this quest is very computer-reliant and I’m phoneposting. Doing the File Forest lads next.
>>4982378>>4982371Meanwhile, you two go together to File Forest! Its depths are filled with Beasts and Bugs. Viral types and Data types are common here, so Helmsbuck isn’t at the biggest advantage right now. The forest is filled with fruit, and you could get a nutritional treat for your lads if you want. You’ve also heard rumors of a rare file being present here: The location of a Matatutske patch in the real world. What’ll you do in this forest?>Fruit harvesting >Hunting bugs or beasts >Searching for the Mushroom patch >Chopping wood for the Ranch >Write-In
>>4982489>Fruit harvesting>Searching for the Mushroom patch
>>4982490>Fruit HarvestingThe two of you scoop up whatever tasty morsels you can find. Orange berries, fat looking stonefruits from low branches, and what looks like a wild melon. Eventually, however, Helmsbuck stops by the base of a large tree. There’s a white apple atop it, with a semicircular chunk taken out of it. Looks expensive. But it’s too high to grab. What’ll you have Helmsbuck do, to get it down? >Climb!>Knock it down by attacking the trunk >Attempt to use tools>Too high, you’ve collected enough. Go collect mushrooms instead. >Do it personally with your own human hands (Write what you do)>Write-In
>>4982495Well he is strong enough to knock down bushes so Knock it down by attacking the trunk. He'll just have to be careful not to damage the tree
>>4982487It's a pleasant environment, and we're here the first time. I'm okay just to relax, but what would you like to do, Ikado?
>>4982501Helmsbuck nods at the command. He takes his place in front of the tree, remembering the incident from earlier where he broke a bush. You can see him trying to be more conscious, and this time, he controls his strength to release a punch into the trunk! Vibrations shudder up the length of the digital wood, sending voxels and leaf particles flying. The apple drops down. >APPLE firmware obtained!Ooh, this looks like a rather expensive, but frail fruit. You’ve unlocked an EVOLUTION ITEM. You may hold on to it and integrate it into a creature’s evolution once the time comes, to put a sort of theme into it. This one provides a chrome, futuristic aesthetic, but tends to be a glass cannon. You may trade and sell such items between yourselves, and make deals with other anons. It’s also possible to find evolution items that change future attributes. Helmsbuck is getting tired, but has learned quite a bit today! He’s good for one more activity before getting exhausted.
>>4982502As shown before, Ikado is a playful sort, and enjoys the tactile sensation of using its flippers to bat things about. It seems to want to play in the sand, and is enjoying tossing clouds of sand into the air. It’s not very friendly behavior for playing with other pets, but he’s having a good time. What’ll you do?>Write-In>Earlier activities
>>4982487>>Hunt for treasureThere's secrets abound Strathawk, let's see if your sky's eye could help
>>4982509"Good job, Helmsbuck."I pat his head >Go collect mushrooms
>>4982489>Fruit harvestingI'm not gonna be leaving this place without a encounter, but that's for the 2nd action.
>>4982511Nothing wrong with playing with sand, it isn't as if Ikado's getting anyone else in the plume.Once we've both had a spot of downtime, let's do a bit of searching. Food or treasure, hmm... actually, since Ikado eats seafood, we could sort of do both together? Treasure sounds more fun, though!
>>4982540If you pick treasure, you’ll be competing with Strathawk and his owner to get it. Will be based on rolls! >>4982530Helmsbuck raises the apple triumphantly, and then starts the search for mushrooms. It’s the second activity of the day, and Helmsbuck is a bit tired. Roll me a 1d6, please, to see the degree of success in locating the mushroom, and to determine any random events that happen on the way. >>4982535As for fruit hunting, you’re able to gather up the same sort of local fruits. Instead of the apple, however, Clocktick seems to take notice of something else. It leads you towards a sort of clearing in the forest. The air is rather still, and in the middle of a glade sits a large bulb. Traces of crackling static are present in the air around it. It definitely seems virus-affiliated.>Approach and investigate>Leave, this doesn’t look safe >Send Clocktick forward
>>4982544Sounds fun.I want to approach with clocktick but in case only one of us can go, then he'll go.
>>4982519Roll a 1d6+1, and if Ikado chooses to >>4982540 treasure hunt, a 1d6 too.

Rolled 2 (1d6)>>4982544Let's go for food, then. See if Ikado can find a nice data-clam or equivilant.
>>4982487>Go fishing with Strumlin
>>4982552With its sharp vision, Strathawk is adept at searching. It takes off into the sky for a brief moment, gliding over the sands and checking out the terrain. When it returns to you, it screeches and guides you towards a spot, where you can begin digging! From the air, this spot certainly looks like an X, with the marking being made from parts of the natural environment. Your pet has managed to apply its innate skills, and gotten better at searching! It’s a bit worn out and [HUNGRY], requiring feeding, but is satisfied at having gotten some money for the two of you.Gained 8 Cryptocoins! I’ll make a store once I’m back home. For now, you may either:>Return home >Pick 1 more new activity.
>>4982547>Approach with ClocktickBoth is valid, yeah. The two of you inch forward. Your little friend winds up the key on his back, and then prepares to lunge at the bulb if it does anything suspicious. He seems grateful that you’ve come down with him, and is ready to guard you if anything goes wrong. You’re able to get up close to it without anything bad happening. When you’re within three feet of it, however, the bulb unfurls all of a sudden. Clocktick panics and raises his limbs, scuttling backwards and trying to drag you away. Within the bulb is some kind of strange, spasming mass. It looks like corrupted data, half-formed and ready to be spat out into the forest… >Get Clocktick to destroy it>Try and harvest the object>Leave it be, don’t fuck with viruses >Other
>>4982560Your little companion is rather tired, but manages to power through! By the time the search is complete, he’s quite [HUNGRY], but has managed to locate the cache! Hidden in the files, beneath the roots of a tree, you two find a mushroom. The object contains the real-world geolocation of a mushroom patch, and the information is almost as valuable as the actual fungi. Unfortunately, you’re in the digital world and can’t really go out and get it.However, as you handle the mushroom data, you see Helmsbuck staring at it hungrily. It looks rather enticing to him…>Give him the mushroom to eat >Sell the mushroom (+5 Cryptocoins for purchasing other things)
>>4982583>Give him the mushroom to eatHe did manage to find it and the "apple" is valuable enough on its own
>>4982555Ah, PC peaks. These mountains are filled with Vaccine types, and Doracle is a bit hesitant to go where they’ll be targeting him. But adventure calls! It’s rugged and rocky, and the sun shines brightly on the two of you. It’s a good day to be out in nature. You two could embark on training, adventure, or things of the sort. To keep the mountains cool, there are gigantic flat plateaus in places, with huge fans that rotate and blow hot air up. Creatures use these to fly, but you could potentially also hijack them and travel through the mountains. >Go Egg-hunting, there’s bound to be bird-type Digital creatures here>Rock climbing, physical training>Mining for minerals >Play with the giant fans>Other
>>4982580I'm not sure so, here, know that I trust my luck.>Flip a coin (1d2)>On a result of 1, Get Clocktick destroy it>On a result of 2, harvest the object
Rolled 2 (1d2)>>4982590I swear I put dice+1d2 in the options field.
Ah, the roll was to search for treasure and compete. But you chose to go for food instead, so no need to roll.>>4982562Ikado flops through the shallows, searching for clams in the sand or anything like that. You help with searching as well. After a while, you both have gathered a respectable amount of clams. If you bring this back to the ranch, everyone could enjoy a good meal. Ikabo blubbers and gets your attention. He’s discovered an open clam! And inside it is a valuable-looking pearl. Your pet seems ready to snag it up. He’s quite the hasty little guy, after all. But you can sense something a bit off in the area…>Grab the pearl>Back away and do something else>Attack the clam
>>4982588>Explore the peaks for a nice spot to have fun and do stuff>While exploring, try to get search for neat stuff
>>4982565I have to go to sleep again. But when I’m able to get to a Pc, I’ll do the fishing combat and post the battle mechanics. It’s still on-trial for the battle ones, so I apologize if it’s clunky or a flawed system.
Could you potentially use multiple evolution items at a time or just one every time your pet evolves?
>>4982607You can use just one, yeah. Doing so will change the color and aesthetic of your pet, while not using one preserves the natural progression it would have.
>>4982574>Good job! now let's go relax for a while and give you something to eat
>>4981260I don't know if i am late or can i still join?
>>4982597I look around the area and see if there's any obvious reason Ikado shouldn't grab the pearl; but if there's no obvious reason not to that we can detect, we try to grab that pearl!
>>4982846Yeah, sure thing. You can be the 2nd last person. That’ll put us at 9, and absolute cap is 10. Reaching home soon and I’ll be able to properly attach images, do art, etc.
Yo, just checking in to make sure Strathawk's fed
>>4983235Good timing, I was just about to do it. The rest of the pets are getting a bit peckish! Some have been fed recently, or are seconds away from fighting, and are exempt until after. As everyone is out in the wilderness, you don't have to clean their shit up, so that's foregone for now. Clocktick and Doracle are hungry!>>4982565>>4982586>>4982590>>4982599>>4982709>>4982879Replying to these to remind myself to post after this one. These eggs too.>>4982151>>4981853And I've come up with the battle mechanics! Battle mechanics:There are three stats: AttackDefence HpCreatures have: 1 atk 1 def 2 hp by default.Defense is a shield that prevents your HP from being lowered, and each successful attack busts through 1 defence pointOn turns, you attack your opponent and try to beat their defense roll. Defending is different from having a defense stat. Attack- Roll 1d4+atkDefend- Roll 1d6A coin is flipped to see who goes first, and each creature gets to attack a number of times equal to their atk, at the end of which, the battle ends. Winner priority: Whoever doesn’t have 0hpHigher HPIf same HP, Higher Hp percentageVirus gains +1 attack against Data, Data gains +1 hp against Vaccine, Vaccine gains +1 defence against Virus. Each of you guys get 2 stat points to put into your stats, so reply and lemme know what your pet will spec into!
Rolled 2 (1d2)>>4982879No obvious reason, no. And Ikado is very eager to do so- And as he reaches for the pearl, the clamshell snaps down and tries to take his tentacle off. He swiftly pulls it back and smacks the clam, causing it to skitter across the sand. Two little eyes open up, and the digital creature snaps its jaws menacingly.Ikado has been pulled into a battle! Coin flip time: 1= IkadoSLAMSHELL- Data Type, 1 Atk, 2 Def, 3 HP
>>4982586Your little friend takes the mushroom and gratefully chows down on it. He looks up to you gratefully and offers up half of it. Unfortunately, humans can't eat digital food, but it's the thought that counts. Your little pet is having a great day. You may not have gotten the coins, but giving him such a valuable present has strengthened your bond. With your adventure complete, the two of you head home to the ranch! You do notice something a bit odd, however... Helmsbuck is sneezing! Seems he's caught a bit of a bug. Helmsbuck is sick! Check in to administer treatment.
>>4982709>Relax As your second activity, the two of you spend some time relaxing and contemplating on the beach. Strathawk is practicing flying, and spends some time flapping around in the sand while watching the confrontation between Ikado and the wild Digiform. Eventually, your pet calms down and approaches you. He takes some time to just sit there, admiring the setting sun after a long day of adventuring. The contemplation mellows him out just a little bit, and he curbs his hyperactivity for a while to just enjoy the moment.Time to go home.
Rolled 1 (1d2)>>4982565Fishing! You grab one of the rods and take your place by a pier. Strumling watches, looking rather impatient. It takes a while, because the little fella keeps blaring noise and scaring away the fish. But eventually, you get a bite! Strumling helps you with the rod, and you pull a fine specimen onto the sand. Perfect for eating- if you can take it down, that is!Strumling has been pulled into a battle!Coin flip time:1= StrumlingCLAWNFISH- Data Type, 2 Atk, 1 Def, 3 HP
>>4983273What happens in the event both creatures are completely tied (>0 HP, same HP, same HP%)? Coinflip/roll-off?
>>4983290In that case, it would be a draw.
>>4982599>ExploreThe two of you explore PC Peaks! Doracle's ability seems rather useful in preventing any accidents. He's able to predict whenever you're about to step on a loose rock, or somewhere unsafe. Unfortunately, he can't actually prevent you from doing it, but in the immediate aftermath, you're always able to right yourself. It makes your bond quite a bit stronger! At one point, a landslide causes the two of you to get covered in dust and rubble, though neither of you are harmed. Doracle stops immediately. He refuses to move on until his horn is properly shined again! It'll make your trek quite a bit longer if he just stands here to do it, and he's being a little stubborn about moving on.>Allow him to pause, and wait for him>Insist that he carries on moving. Some dirt is inevitable.>Go on without him>Other (Write-In)
>>4982590>>4982592>HarvestDespite Clocktick's protests, you harvest the item! It looks like a swirling mass of missing textures, that form odd chunks. You've obtained a [BUGBUD], an evolutionary item! This will likely infect a creature with a virus and change its type, but as it's missing textures, won't result in a change of palette. Your creature may not be very happy to have it used, but if you ever need a type-change upon evolving, this is how you do it.
>>4983323Still got one more activity, or you could bring the lad back home. >>4983273Reminder again for the hungry creatures since it might have gotten buried. That should be everyone's mini adventures replied to! Time to hatch the new eggs.
Rolled 2 (1d3)>>4982151Rolling type.
>>4981853Here's your egg! The egg is covered in crackling noise, and- Hey, what's that over there...?
>>4983364Uh... Huh. Looks like its clipped out of its egg and is filling in the stats by itself. Well, I'll comment while your pet fucks around, I guess.Blipbloop is a digital sentinel that usually sits within the mainframe, killing viruses in transit. It has a transient physical form, and rides around on a cloud of antiviral programming. Visually, it's a bit garish to look at, and it prefers to not have a solid body at all. But in order to get stronger, its made a bond with you and is prepared to experience the simulated digital world, instead of the realm of code.
>>4983366And speaking of physical needs, it needs to eat! Check in to feed the little friend.
>>4983369Feed the creature an old hard drive, possibly let it hunt viruses in the mainframe as a treat.
>>4983164>2nd lastNice, that means I can be the last! Maybe. Hopefully wageslaving doesn't make me an irresponsible pet owner.>>4981260>Swarm (or Drone, if easier)
>>4983439has to be the 32x32 image, not an upscaled one.Don't forget a trip, too.
>>4983440whoops, my bad
>>4982151>ReflectionHatching from the Reflection egg is Shiftshard! This Virus-type creature has the ability to mimic creatures! If she can catch them in its reflection, she's able to transform into them as a disguise. However, this shapeshifting doesn't copy any of their attributes or strength. It's good enough to get up close to something, however! She uses this to close in on prey, and then cuts them apart with her glass edges.
Rolled 3 (1d3)>>4983441Sure thing! Rolling your type. I'll also wait 24 more hours for Flak, and if they don't submit an egg, I'll open the last slot. For now, it's reserved for them.
Awesome quest you have here Eggmaster, it’s a really fun read. Hope it is enjoyable to you as well.
>>4983273>Fed Doracle>>4983302>Wait just a bit and then insist that he carries on moving. Some dirt is inevitable>Tell him that sometimes, pride is not the most important thing, it's really nice to be pride of something, like his horn, but he must not let it get in his head, that he may even sacrifice what is important, for someone else, but what truly matters, it's not losing what are you pride off, that what truly matters, is to search again for something to be proud off, even if it happens many times>Then tell him that after we finish exploring, he will have all the time of the world to polish his horn
>>4983455Thanks! It's fun to run, though very very dependant on being at a PC. >>4983449Whoops, forgot the explicit mention, but Shiftshard is [Hungry!]
>>4983458Whoops, forgot to use my nameBy the by Eggmaster, what time is it now where you live?
Strathawk has made a mess! Check in to clean up the poop. >>4983463About 12pm at the moment.
>>4983464Oh, ok, at what times are you gonna exactly gonna start updating?, just to be sureAnd I am enjoying this quest, I already love my little fucko
>>4983467I just sorta update while I'm awake (usually like 10am to 2am my time), and every few hours during this period, the creatures will have a need that has to be dealt with, like a tamagotchi. And due to me being the one making updates, that period where they 'sleep' and don't have any new demands is while I'm asleep irl.
>>4983468Thanks, it will be a bit annoying to be able to time myself and the threads, but not to bad
>>4983324>Feed clocktick.>Go hunt bugs or beasts. Gonna wind him up before battle.
>>4983458Doracle slowly nods and follows along. You've taught him an important lesson about pride, and that he can't let it get in the way all the time. He obeys you and decides to put up with the indignity of his sullied horn.Eventually, the two of you climb to a peak! From there, you can see a huge valley below, with a river running through it. It's a wonderful sight, and you've caught it JUST as the sun begins to set. If you had dallied down there, you'd have missed this beautiful view.Doracle's eyes go wide as he beholds the sight. And after fully taking it in, he starts cleaning his horn once you two take a break up top.>Next activity! (Previous options)>Return home
>>4983470Aye yeah. The annoying part is unfortunately intentional, to simulate that part of the digital-pet experience. Hard for me to make it as authentic as an app, but I hope it makes it more familiar to the actual process!
>>4983474>Tell him that if he agrees, that this would be our secret spot>Then return home
>>4983273Well since I choose armor it only makes sense for Helmsbuck to have good defense so I'm gonna put one point there and one in HP.>>4983278I take the half of the mushroom. When I see Helmsbuck sneeze I decide to either try and get medicine somehow or take him to a doctor/vet if one exists
>>4983439Hatching from the egg with a powerful buzz is Vespray! This little lass can control swarms of buzzing bugs, that weave through the surroundings and come to her aid. Despite this, she's not a virus type, so has to be careful not to summon more than she can handle. She's also able to spray an acid from her mouth!Hungry!
>>4983273>Each of you guys get 2 stat points to put into your stats, so reply and lemme know what your pet will spec into!Oh yeah missed that.Uhh, 2 points into ATK. With that skill, what else?
>>4983491Using your skill gives you 1 bonus attack in a battle, which stacks with your stats. There's also 1 bonus attack if you fight a Data type, which makes Clocktick an absolute unholy terror with up to 5 attack as a first-stage creature. But winding his key has a 1/3 chance of permanently damaging him.>>4983473By this, did you mean using the skill, or just moving the key? Clocktick may be wound up before battles, which gives it increased Attack, but has a 33% chance of lingering aftereffects.
>>4983449>>4983459>Feed herNormal food: Glass shardsTreats: SilverIf possible, I'd also want to encourage her to hunt any small critters around the area to train her reflection ability, though she might do that on her own anyways. And assuming I can do it at this point,>Put both stat points into ATKPutting the "Glass" in "Glass Cannon".
>>4983483Doracle agrees! And you feel your bond strengthening. On the way down, you almost stumble on a rock again, but Doracle reaches a hand out to steady you. He immediately starts peeping and squeaking in surprise. Its the first time he's been able to interfere with the prediction!Special Ability unlocked! Doracle can choose, instead of defending, to roll a 1d2. On a 2, it avoids the incoming attack. This can be attempted repeatedly, until it succeeds once.
>>4983494>a 1/3 chance of permanently damaging him.>permanentlyWhoa there, that's not exactly what I thought was being implied when I first read the post.Guess we won't be needing that for a while.Just move the key a bit so he doesn't run out of juice mid-fight.
>>4983490Neato! Let's feed her some leafy greens. In the future, I'll treat her with fresh fruit.Changing my name to not be mistaken with the other Red.
>>4983497NICE, btw, from the two stat points, use one to attack and one to health
>>4983505Forgot to mention>Tell Doracle that he did a good job back there when I almost stumbledAnd with that, I will go to sleep, see you tomorrow
Rolled 2 (1d2)>>4983473While out hunting for creatures to fight, Clocktick homes in on another Viral signal! He scurries towards it. The two of you burst through the foliage and spot a red beast, bobbing and bouncing like some kind of living plant. Clocktick has been pulled into a battle!Coin flip time:1= ClocktickAMOONGUS- Data Type, 1 Atk, 1 Def, 4 HP
>>4983464Time to check in to clean up the mess
Rolled 4, 2 + 1 = 7 (2d4 + 1)>>4983517Amoongus makes the first move! It lunges forward to try and clock the Vaccine-type in the face. >>4983276Ah, forgot to roll, since Slamshell goes first. It lunges to try and snap down on Ikado! (Second roll of the dice is for Ika)Roll 1d6 to attack.
Rolled 5 (1d6)>>4983521Welp. Clocktick defends.
>>4983521*Defend, I mean, sorry. Attack is 1d4+mod, defend is 1d6
>>4983522Ah, I never mentioned it explicitly, but I had the intention of defenders winning ties. Phew. And now it's Clocktick's turn! He can attack once a turn, and in total can attack as many times as his attack stat- which is 3. But since the enemy is out of turns, you can roll those 3 attacks at once, and it'll roll 3 defence. Also, sorry for this part >>4983494. I misread your type. Clocktick is Vaccine, so he gets a +1 defence against Viral.
>>4983487Getting him some medicine is enough. He's administered a quick patch, that gets his internals up and running again. It patches out the bug, and he's as good as new again! As the oldest pet, Helmsbuck will likely be the first to evolve. Will you use your evolution item, if it's going to grow up?
Rolled 4, 3, 3 = 10 (3d4)>>4983525Oh, I see.Well, rolling.
>>4983528Yes I will, as long as it doesn't somehow lower any of the stats I have chosen for Helmsbuck
Rolled 4, 3, 3 = 10 (3d6)>>49835327, 6, 6. Amoongus rolls to defend...
>>49835363 successful hits! The first hit breaks through 1 Defence point, and the next two pound the hell out of Amoongus. Clocktick scuttles around like a madman, biting and scratching with ease. By the end of it, both of them are at 2hp, but Amoongus is at 50% health, making Clocktick the winner! You've defeated the enemy. It's a virus, so there's no moral conundrum regarding going for the kill. Clocktick lunges! >Kill!>Other
>>4983541No way I'm gonna miss a chance to kill Amongus.Finish him, Clocktick!
>>4983543And there we go. Clocktick returns home with a kill. That's all the activities that can be done for this day. Your little lad has grown stronger, that's for sure. Now, you'll probably be able to wait for him to evolve. Will you attempt to use the evolution item on him to change his type to Viral during an evolution? And if anyone WOULD like that, they could offer you some sort of trade or coins.
>>4983549Nah. I think Clocktick doesn't like the item anyways, so I'm probably gonna sell it.
>>4983464Cleaned up! And as the only person with Cryptocoins at the moment, here's the shopping list:Training tools: 5 Coins Buying one will allow your pets to train. You can choose between three types, and purchasing a unique type will allow you a stat increase of the corresponding type. Can only occur one time per stat.Deluxe food x2 : 3 CoinsIncreases your pet's happiness significantly, and they'll need double the amount of time between feedings, for the period after eating.Deluxe Ranch: 10 CoinsSay goodbye to the rest of these suckers on the communal ranch. You're hitting the big time, baby! Receive a specialised place that suits your creature's individual needs. Permanent happiness boost and they'll naturally evolve into stronger forms that exemplify their existing traits.
>>4983557i think I'll buy the Training tools, what types are there?
>>4983566HP, Atk, and Defence!
>>4983570I see, i'll buy a Training tool for Atk then
>>4983576Strathawk will be able to passively train attack! In 24 hours, you'll get your stats up.Btw, did you pick your stats already? I didn't see it yet, if so.
>>4983580Nope, but i think i'll pick atk as well
>>4983614Lots of glass cannons, it seems. Nice.
>>4982846anyway i dont read no sooo heres the egg and i think im the last>>4983452 keyword: Thorny devil ( you know that spiky lizard )
Rolled 1 (1d3)>>4983622
>>4983622Pokeog is a spiky little fella, whose hard shell wards off predators who come from above. It's a vaccine type who uses itself as a staunch firewall against viruses who might threaten the peace. And boy is she [Hungry].
>>4983642okay so i give her honey Jerky( mainly) and honey ants (treat)
Rolled 5 (1d6)>>4983276Attack that Slamshell, Ikado! Show off what you can do!
>>4983523>>4983660Or, defend. Whichever of the two needed doing!
>>4983521>>4983660It was defend, yeah. So you defended against it.Attacks are 1d4, + your atk. You have 2 stat points to allocate between Ikado's stats. WHat are they?
Rolled 2 + 2 (1d6 + 2)>>4983671Let's putt hem both into attack. And then attack that Slamshell!
Rolled 1 (1d4)>>4983671>>4983684Apologies, should have been a D4 there
Rolled 2 (1d6)>>4983685Wow, everyone is going all-in on attack. Alright then. Ikado has a total of 4, as it has 3 atk, and 1 bonus when fighting a Data type. Here's the clam's defence-After this, its run out of attacks anyway. So you have 3 more that you can use, and it'll attempt defending after that. So that's 3d4+2, and clam will roll 3d6
>>4983687Not everyone is >>4983487
Rolled 4 (1d4)>>4983287Alright Strumlin, it's time you learn how to catch your meal:>Attack!

>>4983713okay then let's clean then
Rolled 4, 2, 1 + 2 = 9 (3d4 + 2)>>4983687Investing in attack made more sense, being a squiddy type without a hard carapace for defense.Anyway, keep up the attack, Ikado! Let's break that clam!
>>4983713Well then, time to feed him nice freshly cut gras
Rolled 4 (1d6)>>4983773Come on
Rolled 2 (1d4)>>4983785Nice, now counterattack!
Rolled 2, 1, 4, 1 = 8 (4d6)>>4983790Don't forget the +4, so that's 6. Very first roll is for Clawnfish defending against Strumling. Next rolls are defence against Ikado. Sorry Surf, I mistyped. Was meant to be 3d4+4, not 2, so I'll mentally add the numbers.
Rolled 3 + 2 (1d4 + 2)>>4983781And every hit connects! Slamshell is battered and smashed, and it withdraws into its cracked shell. The second hit breaks through its last Defence point, and the next two eat through its Hp. It attempts to bury itself, but Ikado lunges forward! Time to feast. Unless you have some qualms, for some reason. >Execute>OtherAnd this roll is for >>4983790 Clawnfish attacking Strumling. After you roll defence, roll 2d4+4, as Clawnfish is out of attack turns anyway.
>>4983799No qualms, it's just a clam, like the ones we've just been gathering up. Ikado eats seafood, I feed it fish and crabs myself. Well done on the win there, buddy!Oh, and we can take that Pearl now!Once the Pearl is retrieved and Ikado's finished his current meal, we can head back to camp, to share the rest of the clams we found with everyone.
>>4983713>CleanOnce that's done, let's try and make Vespray's space on the communal ranch a little more comfortable for her. While it might not be as good as the Deluxe Ranch, maybe we can start a makeshift nest?
>>4983844DELETED! And with it, you gain a pearl, which is worth 3 Cryptocoins! Great work, the both of you.

>>4983942WOO! Deleted. And with that, Strumling has managed to take down its first foe. The little fella has certainly grown stronger from that... He's too tired to keep exploring, so it's time to go back home, where a special surprise awaits...One moment.
>>4981474>>4981535It has been roughly 48 hours since their hatching, and the two oldest pets have both gone through quite a bit. For Helmsbuck, he's been taught to control his strength, and to take accountability for his actions. He has developed into a disciplined youth, who prides himself in martial ability and the power of his armour and body.Strumling is wild and aggressive. One might find him a bit uncontrollable, but he certainly knows how to get his way and express himself. He's loud and proud, and an excellent fighter.
>>4983941>>4982588To PC Peaks you go! Which activity will you do?>>4983848Sorry, I missed this post. Sure thing, time to make some nest-like alterations to the area. Will update shortly.
>>4983967The wild Strumling has evolved! Its waveform splits into three, and it can maintain three separate chords of sound at once. The organ on its nose allows it to blast out piercing sonic bursts. Its body is well-suited for swimming, and it excels in amphibious terrain. This evolution is very much a completely natural progression, and hasn't been stunted in any way.
>>4983859Good work, Ikado! Let's head back to the ranch. Who else do you think is going to want some of these clams?
>>4983967Helmsbuck, meanwhile, has grown his horns in. The introduction of the Apple Firmware has altered his evolution! Cybernetic parts adorn his body, integrated deeply into his systems. Portions of his armour plating have been replaced by white chrome, and most notably, a helmet obscures his little face. Combat-wise, he's able to carry out a speedy analysis of enemies, and strikes with brass knuckles and chrome-tipped boots.
>>4983973>>4983983>>4983977The two of them are [Hungry] after evolving, so perhaps they could benefit from some tasty foraged clams. As the next two oldest, Ikado and Strathawk are next in line. Both have been fed and maintained for 48 hours, have been taught certain things, and have gone on adventures, so they're ready to evolve! Just as soon as I get the sprites.
Let's go to the Data Cove, to search for material, cryptocurrency and fight
>>4983848Vespray, during your attempt to make a sort of nest for her, shows off some of her natural skills! She pulps a tree and starts using the bark to form a nest. It's slow, and will take a while, but she's adept at making natural shelter. You also notice a bit of a swarm forming around her, of strange glitches in the digital world. Special skill! When reduced to 0 HP, Vespray isn't instantly defeated. Instead, she summons a typeless, 1hp, 1atk 'swarm' creature, which replaces her and resumes combat. This creature is used for calculations at the end of combat, to determine a winner.>>4983993Doracle has been on an adventure a bit too recently, and is still tired out. You may bring him on a quest, but there's a chance of 1/3 chance of exhaustion setting in per activity, which counts as a Care Mistake (permanent penalty for evolutions, etc). >>4983983>>4983973Ah, right. I forgot to mention. You can each allocate 2 more points to stats upon reaching the YOUTH stage! Which makes your pet quite a bit stronger against Baby-stage ones.
>>4984006Then don't do that, I don't want permanent damage to my little fucko
>>4983984>Cook the fish>Add local forage as side and eat>Give him a treat for his recent successes
>>4984008It'll be considered a new adventuring day on the day after a quest is finished, from my time zone. It's still the same day where everyone finished their expeditions where am I, so new ones can't take place yet. Though, Vespray, Blipbloop, and Shiftshard can head to one of the three locales any time at the moment.
>>4984011Also let him rest for the day, he earned a good sleep
>>4983734Oh jeez. Checking in.
>>4983984"Congrats, Helmsbuck."If he can digest the clams he should definitely have some
>>4984006As for the points which I forgot to include in my last point one in hp and one in attack
>>4984013Ok, give him a treat for the adventure
>>4983970investigate the giant fans
>>4984025Two more contenders come in, to join the clam buffet. >>4983580First, STRATHAWK has evolved! It now has larger wings, and is capable of constant flight unlike its previous stage. From the search it did, it develops golden eyes that can pinpoint weak points from vast distances away. From looking at past records of the species, however, your pet is slightly different. A normal Strathawk gets a bit sharper than this when it evolves. Longer claws, a savage beak, and unbridled cruelty. But you've tempered that vicious streak through raising it a certain way. It's less physically imposing, but more intelligent, and less prone to making mistakes due to any innate sadism. If you continue down this route, you'll continue getting a creature that's different from the baseline. Or if you prefer the sound of the other path, you could change your raising style.
>>4983977Ikado is chaotic, rather than violent. You've allowed it to exercise a bit of a creative streak, so its developed as a creature that uses multiple tentacles to slap and grapple foes. It's quite physically affectionate too! Despite being a Virus type, he's quite kind, and has learned the importance of sharing and altruism. It seems like this area was once aboveground, and prayed to a Digital God of the sea- one of the System Admins of old. It seems like the flames of a dying Dragon was imbued into this disc sometime during that ancient battle. Apart from that, Clocktick is sorta messing around in the ruins. You gotta roll that attack on your turn, instead of the dice roll you made (Which would have been 1d4+2), but you may choose to activate this ability at the start of the battle. Will you do it?Also rolling Winvern's defence.
>>4985160Clocktick watches as you open the area to everyone. He's definitely noted the altruism. The two of you busy yourselves setting the safehouse out, marking it with the symbol of the communal ranch, so that every explorer can use it. After a while, the area is complete, and secured! Finally, before you exit, you two do one more sweep of the worn-down house. You do find some old Cryptocurrency! One million units in a drive! Unfortunately, that particular one has depreciated majorly in recent years, so it's only worth 2 at the moment. Oh well, it's something for your good deed.
>>4985158This disc - would be very useful for you, Ikado. We should investigate if we could salvage it.First, we look around the temple to see if there are any inscriptions that suggest how this disc might be released, and how contact in the past was maintained with the being(s) this temple was made to honour. We wouldn't want to offend this being if it might be observing.if we find something we'll have to consider how to proceed, but if we find nothing we will simply ask. 'Being of the depths, would you object if we took this disc?'If there is no response to THAT, Ikado will sit himself upon the alter, his tentacles upon the columns. He will carefully take hold of the disk, and then use his tentacles and a jet of water to boost himself and the disc from the alter and out of the temple in one fluid movement.

The name of the deity itself is in some archaic coding language, and you can't quite decipher it, but you can at least recognise it whenever it crops up. The disc is an offering, rather than anything attached to the temple. When you speak, there's no response from the statues or markings in the temple. It doesn't seem to have a security system either, from observation. And afterwards, Ikado is able to jet away with the disc in his hands! There's no immediate response to the heist, and after a few minutes, you're sure that nothing is coming for you, and the temple isn't about to explode or anything. Got an AQUA DISC! This evolution item adds on an aquatic theme to a creature upon evolving. If used on a creature that already embodies this attribute, however, it grants them 1 additional HP. It can also be used to reshuffle one's colour scheme to something with ocean hues.

Whenever you find anything on a high branch, Blipbloop simply hacks into the mainframe and deletes the connecting portions, forcing them to spill onto the ground, where you can pick them up. Cloudberries, fruits filled with iron fillings, juicy citrus-like fruits that taste like battery acid, all sorts. You abruptly come across a strange region in the forest, however. Blipbloop creates a popup, showing that the local clock has been set to Friday the 13th, Halloween. That doesn't really make sense, considering Halloween is on a 31st, but the more you look at the popup, the more your head hurts. Sitting there is what looks like a pumpkin, moving up and down idly. It's clearly not a digital creature, but plants don't move like that. Blip also grabs your attention with a series of bloops, motioning to the grass around the region. >>4988188Well, shit.>Other: Assuming the fan is shaped like a normal one and the airflow direction is still outwards, even if it is weak, there should be a non-moving grille/casing that protects the center and extends outwards to the edges. Grab Vespray and aim for that.>...If the airflow is inwards towards the ground and there is no casing, this is a lot trickier. In that case try and get Vespray out of range of the fans entirely, even if it means sacrificing myself.I had to look up how fans were structured because I'm retarded.>>4988180...Well, it's not your fault, at least. I don't think anything good has actually come out of interacting with the fans.
>>4988209Responded to the wrong post for the second one, but the one I meant to respond to seemed to have been deleted anyway. Viral data will also probably have horrible consequences.
>>4988212In the case of Vespray, she wouldn't be too averse to it, unlike Clocktick, who is a Vaccine type and hostile towards Virus types. Since the standard Data type is preyed on by viruses, introducing such data isn't conflicting with its role.>>4988209Vespray panics and flails, squealing in terror as the two of you drop. It's like that old charlie and the chocolate factory movie with Gene Wilder, but in reverse. You manage to grab on to her and hold her tight. She responds to your grip, but is still clearly terrified. The fans, unfortunately, are PC fans, and so have no non-moving portion. It's danger all the way down. And thus, the second option is activated! You spike Vespray out of range, pushing her out of the wind column. She flies backwards, reaching out for you and squealing as you plummet to your seeming doom. The last thing you see is her red eyes, wide with shock, before you fall into darkness. No matter what, she'll be safe, at the cost of your own life.Bwoomph....You're... Alive. You immediately sneeze as you try to reclaim the breath that was knocked out of you. Up above, you can see Vespray at the very edge of the spinning blades, just out of the actual wind column. Light streaks in from the skybox, blocked ever half-second by the spinning blades, and as you look around, you notice that you're on a mattress of dust and powdery fragments. Ew, gross. It gets all over your clothes. Looks like you've managed to drop precisely through the hole in the fan blades, and escaped being chopped to bits. Your pet will never forget that you were willing to sacrifice yourself for her in a heartbeat. Ahead of you is a tunnel, leading deeper into the fan network, presumably. Vespray can't come down here with you, but she quickly sends a swarm through the fan blades to guide you in the darkness. After scrambling about in the caverns for what feels like an hour, you finally reach a metallic trapdoor, and bust it open.On the other side is your grateful pet, nearly in tears, who immediately latches on to you for a hug.>Time to go home?
>>4988031>Hunt for ancient templesTime to get moneys, and neat stuff
>>4988217>Absolutely time to go home.
>>4988076Anyway it's time to go home
Rolled 3 (1d4)>>4988147attack
Rolled 5 (1d6)>>4988278That's a +2, so it'll be 5. Rolling defence.>>4988149>>4988179Evo time...
>>4988034(Sorry I'm late, didn't expect it to continue until tomorrow, I didn't check)>Explore the deepwoods, rumoured to hold fairies.
>>4988305No worries!>>4988179Raw evo it is!Shiftshard, after her many experiences, evolves! She's been in more scraps than other Baby-stage creatures, just that she's lost them both. The battles left her glass body slightly broken and battered, but upon evolving in an ideal environment, she managed to mitigate the damage! Surprisingly, her next stage turned out to be close to humanoid, rather than the mechanical shape her body plan implied. She used the damage fragment of her code to form a mirror, instead of letting her body be destroyed. And lastly, further-examining the previous skill has unlocked her innate ability.[Skill unlocked!]When this creature is defence-broken, it can attack one more time, though its modifier doesn't change.Ah, and of course, she's very hungry after this.-As an aside, some info on skills, since not everybody got them yet. Skills are unlocked by investigating your pets, and discovering a particular aspect of their biology! For example, Vespray was used to build a hive immediately, so her skill was unlocked. Clocktick was wound up to max speed, etc.
Rolled 4 + 2 (1d4 + 2)>>4988295Glockroach aims a second shot at Pokeog.
>>4988314>Fed her, then head to Coolant ClimesDoes she get bonus stat points for evolving in the deluxe ranch, or are the "stronger evolutions" more in the sense of them having easier-to-access and/or stronger abilities or something and not a stat thing?
>>4988316well that sounds bad
>>4988318She would have, but the 'stronger' evo was more of her being rescued from a not-so-good evolution, due to the ranch and happiness. So it evened out to zero in the end.Still get the regular +2 stat points per stage. Future evos might be even stronger if she does particularly well, though, since you have the added buff of the ranch.
>>4988324Roll a d6, then roll one more attack. And afterwards, the battle will conclude.
