Last time: Percival managed to beat the Water Gym and won his third badge, landing himself a sponsorship from “Aztlan Wildlife Rescue” our groups moves on to Ceniceros, a small but lively rural town renowned for their cuisine which happens to be located near a volcano. At the request of Archeologist and Gym Leader Henry Ford, Percival enters the “Tomb of the Beast Master” in search for an underground bunker that could be connected to other sets of ruins across the region. Here he teamed up with the full time bounty hunter and part time conspiracy theorist Diane, after meeting the reclusive Pokémon inhabiting these ruins and their leader the “Golett Sage” the duo manage to take down the “Guardian of the Tomb” a powerful machine that protected the ruins from intruder, after botching its self-destruct attempt Percy met and caught the pilot of the murder machine, a sad, mopey Espurr and promised the mon to find him a home.

>” You are kind of a dork, aren’t you? “
>Yeah sure, let’s go get something to eat.
>"But I got to make a delivery real quick, lets exchange contact info and I'll meet up with you."

As Diane explains in detail her far-fetched, high stakes plans to steal the ancient Pokéball you failed to snag, as she shows you her night vision googles she ordered off the internet you can’t help but chuckle.

[Percy]: You are kind of a dork aren’t you?”

[Diane]: Wow, rude much?

[Diane]: In case you didn’t notice, I’m like the serious cool beauty type
.
You look at her to see if she’s joking but her expression is completely serious. The painfully untrue statement makes your chuckle turn into full-on laughter.

[Diane]: Hey! I am really cool! Right guys?

The bounty hunter asks her Pokémon team who only gives a series of lukewarm, mild-mannered responses, trying to avoid the question. Except for her Rampardos who is just seemingly perpetually in a state of unless he is being directly addressed.

[Diane]: I swear I used to be cooler, but you know, being just you and your mons and no one else around.

[Diane]: They seem to bring out the real you, or at least things you wouldn’t normally show to other people.

[Percy]: Hey, I get it. Really. Don’t worry, I’m pretty lame too.

You tell Diane that you are currently a little busy, you have run some errands really quick, but you’ll get to her after you are done, she doesn’t seem to have a problem with that. The two of you exchange contact info and prepare to leave the ruins.

>Obtained Diane’s Contact info!

You’ll go search for Professor Aspen’s lab and then…
>Let’s go to the market and find some good food stalls, just Diane and you.

This is completely unrelated, but when I read that Abra and Gareth were getting closed the only thing I could think was.

Just you and Diane.

After parting ways with Diane after promising her some food you and your team find yourselves back in town. Once you arrived at the surface once more you let “Shinji” the Espurr out of his ball so he can get some air and start to get acquainted with your team and the outside world, his intense gaze turns up to the setting sun. “So that’s the sky. The real thing. Huh…” There’s a sound of relief on his musings, he seems to be doing a bit better. Good for him.

You call up Gareth to let him know about your plans for tonight and call Kadabra to retrieve the documents you need to deliver.
Speaking of Kadabra, he and Gareth have been hanging around a lot lately. It’s a bit weird, Kadabra was always curious about humans in general, but he never interacted with people besides you, you wonder what made him change from a passive observer to seek a friendship with your older friend.

It takes him a few minutes, but the psychic Pokémon manages to teleport from place to place until he reaches the dominion of the Yellow King back in your home city and returns to Ceniceros with the data in hand. The psychic type who’s a little winded from the trip tells you that he needs to talk to you about an important matter later before going off to rest somewhere.

After asking around the local mons and some people you manage to locate the lab, a decently sized institution located on the edge of town, it reminds you of a hospital. The buildings are surrounded by a lush green field where different Pokémon roam around the premises peacefully. From what you gathered this place is a rehabilitation center for Pokémon who suffer from both mental and physical conditions.

Near the entrance of one of those buildings, there are two familiar figures seem to be arguing, a young brown-skinned lady in a white uniform, she’s the girl who was hanging around with Gareth back at Ibarra village, and more importantly a White Veil employee and assistant to the man that thrashed your ass with some jacked-up Raticates.

The other is a mature lady in a lab coat wearing an exasperated look on her face, she matches the description Maple gave you of her mentor. She looks awfully a lot like one of the Elite 4 members.

The White Veil employee is pleading to Aspen desperately while the woman tells her to leave but you can’t quite make sense of their discussion this far away.

>Interrupt the conversation, deliver the documents, and get out of there. Let’s not waste time and get together with Diane and your friends.
>Try to eavesdrop on their conversation. (Needs roll)
>Just wait for the White Veil employee to leave and then introduce yourself to Dr. Aspen.
>Send Mimikyu to deliver the documents in your stead, keep yourself completely incognito.

You decide to lay low to evade getting more attention on yourself and wait for the White Veil employee to leave. After some minutes of hiding behind a sleepy Snorlax, you see the girl dressed in white storms off visibly frustrated, you can overhear how she complains and worries about her bosses chewing her out for failing a simple task.

Once she’s out of sight you approach Dr. Aspen, the woman who stills seems irritated by her previous discussion tries to shake off her stress and greets you properly in the most professional manner. “Good afternoon. You must be Percival, right? Professor Maple told you’d be coming”

Professor Maple already filled her in some details without revealing anything too important besides the urgency of the matter.

“Welcome to Ceniceros “Pokémon rehabilitation and research center, I'm doctor Aspen, It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance.” The woman stands up and offers you a handshake. You sort of just keep staring at her hand for a minute before shaking it.

You are a bit star-struck for a moment, she’s not only an Elite 4 member, but she’s also one of the most prominent researchers in Aztlan’s Poké-scientific community, writing extensive papers on Pokémon behavior and psyche. You’d been just standing there nodding without saying a single word, but Doc Aspen keeps her professional attitude up without minding you.

“I hope I’m not overstepping my boundaries, but I’ve heard about your abilities in Pokémon communication, and I wanted to see them for myself, there’s a particular matter I was hoping you could help me with, also she told me that I should give a thorough examination to the Elekid who is accompanying you, I assure you it is completely safe. Could I interested you in a tour around the facilities while we properly discuss the subjects at the matter?”

>” Sorry I’m kind of busy now” give her the documents and go meet Diane and your friends before it gets late.
> “Yeah sure! I’m free! What I’m good for?” (cancel your plans and go with Doc Aspen)
>Apologize, you are busy right now, but leave Prince with the Doc.

[Intermission]
North Pass city, Carranza High School, a year ago

[Percy]: … Besides the moral quandaries regarding intimacy with Pokémon, the reason why Poképhilia is illegal in most regions has biological, psychological, and ecological factors at play

[Percy]: First! Let’s talk anatomy, even with their mammal-like appearance, all known Pokémon are oviparous, they all lay eggs! Their genitalia is quite different from ours and in most cases completely incompatible! Forget pleasurable, it’s reported to be painful to one or both parties in most cases! Even in the most human Pokémon, you are subjecting yourself and the Pokémon to all manners of injury, and if you bring up the brain-dead falsehood of the claims of compatibility between humans and Vaporeons I swear to God I’m going to lose my shit!

[Percy]: Even non-wild Pokémon who live alongside humans and have and hygiene comparable to them still have wildly different microbiota than humans, that includes their genitalia. Having intercourse with a Pokémon, no matter how human-like they are posing a health risk for both humans and Pokémon alike as we are subject to infection even with the use of preservatives. It’s like the idiots who think they can drink water produced by a water type without thoroughly purifying it first. Water types are notorious to be a breeding ground for all manners of bacteria because of the composition of their bodies, the natural humidity makes their microbiota much, more different than ours.

[Percy]: And even if after all of that you still want to fuck a Pokémon none of them are sexually interested in humans, they see us as such a different organism that they don’t have any interest in ourselves in matters of reproduction, in the instances that intercourse between human and Pokémon does happen its very rarely consensual and most often than not a case of abuse from parts of the trainer or human committing the acts. That’s why we had shit like that guy who got arrested for lobotomizing a Gardevoir so she wouldn’t fight back during the abuse!

[Classmate]: Chill out you goddamn furry. No need to get so defensive. You sure know a lot about Pokémon fucking huh? That’s sketchy as fuck if you ask me.

[Percy]: It’s not just intercourse! I know a lot about most aspects of Pokémon! It’s what I’m good at! I know even more about their ecology, behavior, diet, evolutionary history, habitats, physiology. I took my time to learn everything about them!

[1/2]
>>
>>4983054
[Classmate]: Whatever, Poké-fiddler.

[Percy]: You dumb, simple-minded brain-dead, motherfuc…

Before you can finish the insult the guy you were arguing with decked you right in the face sending you tumbling down, you are accustomed to pain but it’s been a while since you have been punched like that, you really don’t get bullied anymore but stuff like this tends to happen when you start sperging out.

You’ll prove them wrong one day, your knowledge and interest don’t make you inferior, you pride yourself on that, it’s your only good point. You may be weird, but you are capable, you know your shit, someday you’ll start to understand humans and you’ll find people that actually like you. You’ll get yourself a proper girlfriend, a girl who likes you accepts you, and understands you. Goddamn it, you have to. You need to know that somebody can actually like you outside of obligation as your family does.

A blond-haired girl watches the debacle quite bored. This little show happens once every two to three months. She has known the boy for years knows, they’ve been together since elementary even if he has never taken an interest in her, not as he cares about anything outside Pokémon, he’s actually doing better now even if it is hard to believe. She muses to herself if he could be useful to her in the near future.

[Kali]: “He really hates being called a Poké-fiddler”

>Give her the documents now
>Promise to come back tomorrow morning for the tour, demonstration, and examination
You apologize to Doc Aspen, you already got plans for tonight, but you are sure to come tomorrow for the whole tour, demonstration, and examination if she doesn’t mind. The woman tells you to come tomorrow morning, she’ll be waiting for you.

“Excuse me, Percival, could I get your contact info? I believe it will be optimal for future endeavors.”

>You exchanged contact info with Elite 4, Dr. Aspen!

You are a bit incredulous to see an Elite 4 in your rather small contact, first a Gym Leader now and Elite 4, you are making some real connections now. You hand Aspen the documents regarding White Veil activities and bid her adieu.

On your way, you send the Archeologist Henry a message to tell him that you found the bunker alongside all the info on your latest expedition as well as the photographic evidence you took while down there in the ruins. He responds almost immediately congratulating you for a job well done, he asks you to call him as soon as you can so you can tell him what happened in full detail and discuss what's next. He sounded pretty excited about this, he also paid you $10,000 for your help.

>Current money $37,500

Later that night you met with Diane and your friends at a local restaurant you saw earlier today while browsing the marking stalls for some food. The place has a casual vibe to it, most tables are on the outside of it. It's fully packed, both people and mons are all enjoying their meals and having a general good time while the staff runs around from table to table bringing attending the customers, the cheery atmosphere is a bit contagious.

[1/2]
>>
You see that your friends and Diane are already here, Eli sounded a bit annoyed when you told her Diane was coming but she didn’t turn you down. Gareth is currently enjoying some tacos and an ice-cold beer, his Beedrill Drillbreaker buzzes around him while Sandrider the Trapinch and Bugman the Wimpod hand onto his shoulder, on her head rests a Larvesta you hadn’t seen before. Despite his clothing seemingly partially burned he looks really pleased with himself right now.

Eli and Diane are sitting across the table, eyes fiercely locked into one another as they compete to see who can handle the hottest sauce that the restaurant can offer, they are both sweating, their faces flustered and eyes red irritated by the sheer hotness of the food. The first one to drink the ice-cold water that’s between the two loses.

Their Pokémon are chilling together talking about their latest adventures while sharing a bowl of tortilla chips with various dipping sauces, there's also a new member in Eli's team, a Salazzle. Despite their trainer’s rivalry, Diane and Eli's mons seem to get along swimmingly.

>Let’s talk to Gareth, he’s got a new team member. See how’s he’s doing.
>Let’s talk to Eli, catch up
>You wanted to talk to Diane a bit.
>Enter Eli’s and Diane's competition and burn off your tastebuds.
>Observe Eli and Diane, you want to get a better idea of their "rivalry"
>Introduce Shinji the Espurr to them, maybe one of them would be interested in giving him a home or know someone who would.
>Let’s just order some food and chill with everyone.

Noticing the new addition to Gareth and Eli’s team you decide to use this chance to introduce Shinji and get to know the new members of their team, maybe one of them would be willing to give him a home.

After painful minutes of filling her gullet with tacos drowned in the spiciest of salsas, Eli finally concedes and downs as much water as she cans. “That’s three to one this week! You owe me a soda, loser!” Diane proudly exclaims practically jumping out of her seat in excitement “Enjoy it while you can! I’m winning our next competition!”

After Eli’s and Diane’s pointless competition came to halt after the older bounty hunter bested your girlfriend? Is that what she is now? Let’s not worry about that right now. You asked about their new mons. They were also curious about your little sad fluffball, so introductions are in order.

Gareth and Eli meet their new teammates in the same place, the two trainers undertook some bounty hunting requests. A group of Salazzle all evolved at the same time and started waging turf wars between one another, the conflict got out of hand and ended up putting in danger the other Pokémon in the area. Eli dealt with the threat of the poisonous fire lizards while Gareth helped out a group of endangered Larvesta who got caught in the conflict.

[Eli]: Since she was the baddest bitch of the bunch I recruited her to my team after some she almost trashed our asses. Get in here “Tomie,” say hi to these nerds.

The Salazzle approaches the table oozing confidence and haughtiness. She snaps her fingers and Tremor the Krokorok comes running bringing a seat for her. “Hohoho, I’m sorry to inform you but the BEST of all Pokémon just paired up with the BEST of all trainers. So don’t feel too bad after we become champions, it’s inevitable” The Salazzle starts to cackle in a strange hissing fashion, her trainer soon follows with her trademark coarse laugh, they seem to get along well.

[Gareth]: Well, this little guy is Solaire, champion of the sun, fearless leader, and friend for life. He saved our bacon back at the volcano, helped us fend off like a dozen of crazy Salandit. After the battle he just tagged alone so now we ride together.

[Solaire]: Alright team, like we practiced!

The rest of Gareth's team jump excitedly at the signal of the Larvesta, they get on the table and take position with Solaire at the center, Bugman the Wimpod, and Sandrider the Trapinch at the sides. The three of them do a series of fast, dramatic poses using their little appendages before Solaire makes his horn glows and produces a small flame behind the trio simulating an explosion, from it Drillbreaker emerges rising his mighty stinger to the sky.

[Gareth]: Honestly, I’d die for these dudes.

After getting to know the new mons you introduce Shinji, you call him over, he’s currently slumping on the floor, the psychic mon slowly starts to float to your location and then unceremoniously drops on the table, he rolls over to face your friends.

[Shinji]: Hello I guess

[Eli]: Why does the furball look so sad?

[Percy]: Oh, he’s just been through some stuff we are working on it.

[Diane]: He was piloting an ancient killer robot guarding a survival bunker deep into the ruins and tried to kill us via a self-destruct

[Eli]: Man, you already starting with your kooky conspiracy shit again?

[Percy]: Nah, she’s for real this time, I can vouch for it.

[Eli]: Dude, you really need to take me out with you sometime, you get into some real crazy shit.

[Diane]: Why do you believe him but not me?

[Eli]: So you gonna train the mini kamikaze?

[Percy]: I’m not sure if that’s what he wants. We are looking for a new home for him. Do any of you want to help him out?

[Eli]: Sorry man, a psychic type like him would be hella convenient but I wanted to keep the last spot on my team open and I don’t know if he’d be able to roll with us, my crew is kinda rough.

[Diane]: Yeah, I’m still kinda pissed about his murder attempt so that’s a no for me.

[Gareth]: I could take him, I don’t know much about Espurrs but I could manage, little guy seems like he needs a friend.

[Eli]: Oh shit! Blondie has lookin for an Espurr for a while, you should give her a call. She was really dead set on getting one.

[Percy]: So, what do you think Shinji?

While he’ll probably lighten up a bit hanging out with Gareth’s team maybe Kali is the right option for him, if she’s been looking for an Espurr chances are she took her time to learn how to take care of one, she’s not one to half-ass things.

Kali’s team seems to be doing pretty well. While she has made some serious mistakes in the past she’s been doing better as a trainer, it may be time to have some trust in her. That being said, if she starts reverting to her old ways and mistreats him, you’ll take him back without a second thought.

>You’ll call Kali later to tell her about Shinji.

The rest of the night goes pretty well. Shinji seems a bit less miserable after hearing the news and eating some tasty snacks, he’s not really happy but he doesn’t seem as mopey. Loudred and Gareth’s team do their best to integrate him with the other mons, he’s not very talkative but at the very least he’s not slumping on the floor anymore.

>Spent $1800 on food for you and your team
>Everybody’s mood improved! Shinji seems to be doing better.

Everyone seems to get into high spirits at your table, Gareth is feeling great after he and his team were able to fend off the horde of Salandit, he’s doing some serious progress as a trainer. “The next Gym will be our big break, I’m feeling it! It’s gonna be our first badge!”. You and your friends start to exchange stories over some great food, Gareth with his small victories, Eli and Diane trying to one-upmanship each other with their bounty hunting misadventures, and your strange expeditions in the ruins. The mood’s great, everyone is having a good time, Diane, in particular, seems to really enjoy the company of your friends, she was a bit apprehensive at first but is quick to join in. As it gets later and the conversation goes on Eli asks Diane something regarding the day they met.

[Eli]: Hey’ I’ve been curious. Why were you so interested in the Arsonist when I trashed your ass back at Ibarra?

[Eli]: I mean, it’s not like the bounty on him was great and he was just starting to become a big deal.

[Eli]: Were you like one of those crazy fans or sumthin? Like those chicks that are really into serial killers?

[Diane]: No, I’m not a “fan”.
She says, almost offended by the claim.

[Diane]: I wanted to help him.

[Diane]: He is… he used to be a friend.

The mood turns somber the moment the Arsonist is brought up, Diane is visibly uncomfortable with the subject, she suddenly becomes stiff and guarded.

>Keep pressing on, you want to know about the Arsonist, ask her about it.

Seeing how tense Diane is getting you try to sway the conversation in another direction you stumble around trying to find something to talk to before asking her about Rampardos, Eli tries to keep asking but Gareth who caught wind of what’s going on nudges her discreetly.
It’s rare to see extinct Pokémon around, you can get them from specialized breeders but they are quite pricey and aren’t really popular outside of fossil aficionados.
Oh, “Ram-ram? I actually caught him!

She tells you that some months ago she alongside a group of bounty hunters were contracted by a private company that flew them to an undisclosed location to deal with some escaped Pokémon. The place was an Island somewhere near Aztlan filled with all sorts of revived, extinct Pokémon, there was a giant research facility in the center of the island, but they weren’t allowed near it. Whoever hired them made sure to keep them in the dark as much as possible, they never learn the name of their employer nor which company hired them, but Diane has her suspicions.

[Eli]: Yeah, I’m callin bull. That’s just the plot of Jurassic Park.

[Diane]: NO! I swear it’s real! I went there! It was full of wild extinct mons! I tried to take pictures, but the guards confiscated my phone. But I saw it! It’s real!

[Eli]: Yeah, like the time you said there were UFOs at Lacrismosa bay and we spent hours chasing a pimped-out Magnezone of some Unovan tourist.

[Diane]: I accept that I may have been a little misguided that one time, but this is for real!

You get Eli to back down a bit to hear what Diane had to say, while she’s not sure where it’s located, she guesses the island is probably located on the northeast coast of Aztlan. As your group argues about themselves if “Fossil Island” is the real deal or just another of Diane’s ridiculous claim things get lively once more, Eli remains skeptical but Gareth seems to have bought the bounty hunter explanation.

It’s getting pretty late now. You pack things up and get ready to leave the restaurant after everyone pays their bills.

“Thanks, Percival, I had a great time. See ya later.” Diane tells you with a genuine smile, seems like she really needed to spend some time with other people.

[Eli]: Hey, don’t get so chummy, you and me still got beef.
[Diane]: Of course, I’m just playing nice for the time being, but next time I see you I want a rematch! Prepare to taste defeat!
[Eli]: In your dreams! Next time I see you consider your ass trashed!
>>
The two trainers seem more than ready to throw down but their respective teams separate them breaking down the conflict, seems like they just want to relax for the night. Tremor carries Eli's off on his shoulder while Diane's Manectric pushes her back. It's getting pretty late, you should...

>Call Kali
>Pay for a hostel, 500
>Invite Eli.

You decide to call Kali to tell her about Shinji “Oh, that’s actually perfect timing! I’ll meet you there, just give me a minute…”

Before you go you ask Eli if she wants to bunk it at the local hostel with you. “Aight man, I’ll be waiting for you there” The girl says in an enthusiastic tone, seemingly pleased with the idea of spending some time with you. You consider inviting Gareth as well, but he tells you that hell’ be slumming it at the Poké-center “Take care bro, oh yeah, I got something to tell you regarding Kadabra but we’ll get to it tomorrow, peace” the young man and his mons go on their way to rest alongside the other broke trainers and occasional homeless youth.

….

You arrive at the location you and Kali decided to meet, a small park near the hostel. It doesn’t take her long to arrive. She’s being accompanied by her team and all of them seem pretty tired. Her Prinplup has turned into a full-fledged Empoleon, despite her regal appearance she excitedly hurries to trap your entire team in a hug, Houndour tries to escape but her grip is too strong as she lifts the five Pokémon and gives them a little twirl before putting them down without breaking a sweat.

Alongside a tired-looking Kali and exhausted Arcanine tries to maintain the order with his teammate but is ignored by everyone except Empoleon and Kali who pat him on the back for his efforts, a Tsareena is on top of the fire canine using him as a means of transport. She sits maintaining a perfect pose with her legs crossed, she only takes a mere gander at you and your team before scoffing with an air of superiority. Kali’s Empoleon tells her new teammate to not be so cold, but the Grass Type tells her that they need to prove themselves worthy of her attention first. Kali’s Haunter uses his disembodied hands to pick Prince on the back and to get his attention “You are it” says the playful ghost type as the two mons initiate a game of tag.

[Houndour]: So, you have to deal with this shit too?

[Arcanine]: Yeah, this is tougher than battling.

[Houndour]: I get you

From what you overheard from Empoleon’s chatter with Loudred, Kali and Jeanne got tangled up in an exorcism that went south and had to deal with a group of rowdy ghost types possessing household appliances. Thankfully Jeanne managed to get the situation under control.

Kali who seems a bit disheveled takes a sigh, looks at you, and then does something you didn’t expect. She smiles, ever so slightly.

[Kali]: Hello Percival.

>”Wow, you look like shit, are you ok?”
> ”Hey, how’s Jeanne? Is she with you?”
> Straight to business. You really want to rest.
> “So, why an Espurr?”

You return the smile and greet her casually, trying to be nice, it seems like she had quite the day.

[Kali]: What are you smiling at asshole?

[Percy]: Hey you started it.

[Kali]: (Chuckling) I guess I did.

The two of you sit down near a park bench to talk, she’s being surprisingly amicable today, or at least not as hostile as usual. Still, you find yourself troubled trying to make some conversation.

[Percy]: So…rough day as well?

[Kali]: Eh, I’ve had worse.

She tells you how she and Jeanne got dragged into some exorcism business after some guy complained that he was still being haunted even after Jeanne and the priest helped him out some time ago. They ended up fighting a dozen of wild Rotom and her newest team member didn’t make things easier.

[Kali]: … and then, when he was just about to pay us for dealing with that ghost shit, you know what Jeanne did?

[Kali]:She told him it was on the house since it “wasn’t much of a biggie”. No biggie? I almost drowned inside of a living washing machine!

[Kali]: I gotta say, she’s really competent dealing with those Ghost types, kind of bizarre really.

[Percy]: Huh, I didn’t expect. Wait, are you using me to vent now?

[Kali]: I’ve been doing that this whole time Percival, c’mon light up.

You ask further about the new member of her team. Kali tells you that after her battle on the Water Type Gym she realized that her team would benefit from having a Grass-type to get a Fire/Water/Grass core going, before leaving Lacrimosa she went looking for a new mon, she found her in the wild thoroughly beating and humiliating some more inexperienced trainers, Arcanine managed to take her down and she caught her. “She is a bit of a handful refusing to take orders at times, but she seems content training and battling to get stronger and Arcanine has been a huge help keeping her under control”. The Fire-type perks up and wags his tail the moment he hears his trainer complimenting him, but his excitement is cut short as Tsareena digs her heels onto his sides.

[Arcanine]: Can you get off of me? I already apologized for all the Fire Blasts.

[Tsarenna]: We are still a long way to be even, mutt.

[Arcanine]: Goddamit.

The fire type starts to growl as his patience is tested by the sadistic grass type but his trainers calm him down.

[Kali]:I know you are upset, just hang in there a little longer, please.

[Kali]: Alright, ride’s over. Get down.
She says to the Grass-type in a firm authoritative tone. The Tsareena seems annoyed at Kali but she complies anyways. “I’ll be in my ball, call me if there’s anyone worthy of being crushed by me

After that, you introduce her to Shinji and explain how you meet and how he’s in need of a home and some emotional support. He stares at Kali quizzically with his thousand years stare, she slowly approaches him, she uses her weak psychic powers to make a couple of rocks float near him, he seems a bit puzzled but then he imitates her, Shinji stares at her with intensity and Kali just smiles, seems like they reached some form of understanding.

[Percy]: So, why an Espurr?

[Kali]: Well, I planned on challenging the Fighting Type gym next and a support type Pokémon like him would be a good addition to my team.

[Kali]: Also I want to see if he could help me understood more of my “weird psychic shit”.

[Percy]: Yeah, but why an Espurr specifically?

[Kali]: I don’t have to explain everything to you!

[Kali]: I just think they are cute! My sister and I used to have plushies of them, she also really likes them.

[Kali]: Maybe he could be a good friend for her once this is over, to help her get better.

[Kali]: Hey, you are really trusting me with this?

[Percy]: Yeah, your team seems to be doing pretty good. I guessed you were worth a shot.

[Percy]: I just want the best for Shinji here. The moment I see something sketchy I’m taking him back and calling the Poké-cops on you.

[Kali]: Alright, I swear he’ll be okay. Hey, do you want to make this an “official trade”? I’m in a situation here.

Kali tells you that a certain someone sent her a Froakie with his hidden ability “Protean”, she asked for one to a “contact” but “She sent me a Piplup instead because SHE THOUGHT my team needed to be cuter”.

[Kali]: Well, I already raised my Empoleon, she’s a good team member and I’ve grown accustomed to fighting together. Don’t worry, if you don’t want to raise it there’s a lot of trainers interested in him.

[Kali]: Also, do you want this? I guessed a Pokémaniac like you would get a kick out of it.

She shows you a Jaw Fossil in pristine condition, it could be used to revive a Tyrunt. Her contact also sent it to her to promote “That stupid dino island she’s been working on”, Kali is not really interested in Fossils and doesn’t want anything to do with her “contact” outside the absolutely necessary.

[Percy]: This is a real tough decision, in one hand a Water Type mon would certainly come in handy and a Froakie with its Hidden Ability is not something you see every day. But Tyrantrum is just really damn cool. To raise a Pokémon displaced from its original time, a true scientific miracle, even if I don’t revive it fossils are just so damn cool. And I can take both? This is just too good to be true, but this is Kali we are talking about I’m sure she’ll try to use this to take advantage of me in the future. Ugh, I don’t want to feel indebted to her but I really really want both…

[Kali]: You are thinking out loud.
[Percy]: Crap, You're going to use this as leverage later aren't you?"
[Kali]: Oh, absolutely.
[Kali]: Wow. No hesitation whatsoever. Alright, I’d take them.

Kali hands you the Jaw Fossil and the Pokéball containing the Froakie, you let him out to meet your new team member. Kali warns you that he’s a little intense.

[Froakie]: So, you are my new trainer? Huh. Not impressed but you shall be sufficient.
[Froakie]: Just point me in the right direction and I shall eliminate your targets most efficiently.
[Froakie]: I must warn you, I’m not here to make friends. I live and die for the thrill and glory of battle.
[Froakie]: So, tell the other not to get in my way. Nothing personal.

[Loudred]: Alright, welcome to the team! Let’s get along!

Froakie gives her a cold shoulder, but this doesn’t seem to discourage Loudred who proceeds to introduce everyone. Kali wasn’t lying he’s quite intense.
>Froakie joined the team!
>Obtained Jaw Fossil

You ask Kali if she wants to share TMs between your teams to learn some new moves, she entertains the idea since they are reusable but says that she might do it on another occasion. She’s running a bit late, she has to check on Jeanne to see if she hasn’t attempted to break the Arsonist out of prison yet.

Kali and her team prepare to leave, Empoleon scoops up Shinji the Espurr and carries him over her shoulder while giving him a warm welcome to the team, Shinji turns back to look at you, he waves you goodbye and thanks you for helping him find a new home, the little furball didn’t look so sad anymore.

[Kali]: I’ll call you who I damn please… Percy.
[Percy]: YEAH! WE ARE FRIENDS NOW!
[Kali]: Still not!
>Relationship with Kali improved.

You walk back to the hostel with your team. You see Eli waiting for you in the small lobby, she’s currently in the middle of a phone call and she sounds a bit exasperated. “Hey, I told you I’ll send you the cash tomorrow aight? So stop bothering Dad! He’s got better stuff to do…Yeah, yeah…Take care” the girl hangs up seemingly frustrated but her face lights up the moment she sees you. “Hey, weirdo! You kept me waiting!”

The place is small but cozy and it’s not brimming with trainers and tourists as other hostels may be right now, Gareth did a good job scouting for places to sleep. The manager of the hostel is a stout, friendly-looking man who is accompanied by a Makuhita.

You paid the extra to get a room for yourselves, you are sure to rest better that way, a little privacy comes a long way. While you are handing out the cash to the owner the man tells you in a low voice. “Oh, is someone getting lucky tonight?” he asks in a suggestive “Eh?” you respond confused. “It’s okay son, just try to not be too loud, there are other guests in here” You finally get what the old man is implying, and the sudden realization hits you like a brick to the face.

You look at Eli and her new team member and your mind starts to wander. “Poisonous passion in a hot night” a film you saw for, “research purposes” where a wayward trainer who owns a Salazzle asks for shelter from the rain. Since her clothes got all wet, she changes into a tight leather Salazzle suit and then proceeds to get freakier than a Salazzle in the wild Your dirty thoughts are cut short as Eli slaps you on the back and tells you to get your ass moving.

-----
You make your way to the room. The place is pretty neat for being so cheap. You are currently sitting alongside Eli on one of the Bunk beds while your mons all argue who gets to sleep on a bed and who gets the floor.

[Eli]: Dude, you look pretty done, you aight?
[Percy]: Yeah, I just did a lot of stuff today I’m kind of wiped out.
[Eli]: Very well then. C’mon here, nerd.

Eli gives you an inviting look and pats her thighs, you don’t really understand what she meant until she takes you by the shoulder and shoves your head in her thighs giving you a surprise “lap pillow” holy shit, these things are really comfortable, better than any pillow by miles

[Percy]: Wait! Why are you doing this?
[Eli]: Dude, you’ve been eyeing my thighs from day one. Your gaze gets kinda intense.
[Percy]: I-I- DON’T- I MEAN. NOT DAY ONE, MAYBE L-LIKE
[Eli]: It’s cool, I’m flattered really.
[Percy]: …Yeah, they looked really comfy. They ARE really comfy.

She starts to run her fingers through your long unkempt hair, scratching your head so gently you nearly fall asleep, without realizing you get so comfortable you start to growl like a Sentret which prompts Eli to laugh and keep scratching you searching for your weak points, this goes on for a while as you keep growling.

[Eli]: I still can’t believe you went with the crazy chick to fuck up a giant ancient mecha.
[Percy]: Are you jealous?
You ask a bit playfully
[Eli]: Hey, I got the right to be! Your nerd meat is mine.
She replies half-serious, half-jokingly.
[Eli]:I know we both got our stuff to deal with, but I like hanging out with you.
[Eli]: Be it going on some dope-ass deadly adventure or just chilling, I’m down.
[Eli]: I’m not saying we need to be glued together 24/7 but if you are about to do some cool shit and need some backup, me and the crew gotchu. Just give us a call.
[Percy]: I know you do, if we get into serious trouble you got my back even if I don’t call you.
[Eli]: Don’t try to butter me up like that weirdo.
[Percy]: Because it works?
[Eli]: Pft…it does.

It’s getting pretty late.

Alright, last post from me. Thanks for dropping by anons. I’ll be returning on Saturday 11th around 2 pm MDT.
Question time! How is Percy feeling about Kali now? Will she be a good trainer for Shinji? What does he think about Diane? And more importantly, what about his new edgy Froakie?
>>
>>4986575
Seems like Kali being forced around people that know her bitchiness and just don't care, and being coached by Percy to be a better trainer and deal with her sister is slowly...I don't wanna say mellow per say, but getting better. Edgy Froakie is weeby dork and it's perfect, a few hugs from big sis Loudred and Peppy Young Lord Prince should sort him out fast. Or Dad Houndour, whichever comes first.
>>4986570
To be fair to Percy, Eli is basically perfect.
>>4986573
These two dorks will make a whole kindergarten together. So help me Arceus.
>Say you love her. "But you need to know..."
>Hey, I need to tell you something… (Tell her everything about White Veil, the Behemoths, and Victoria)
>You need some rest, hug Eli, and cuddle until you both fall asleep.

We can text Ford in the morning over dedicated breakfast or dinner time about our findings. In fact, his stuff is pretty easy to burn through if we put a day on it.
>>
>>4986573
>>You need some rest, hug Eli, and cuddle until you both fall asleep.
>>"Hey Eli, just wanna say you make me happier than a Ludicolo, I am glad I met you"
We're having a nice moment here, the other stuff can wait tomorrow, let's cuddle each other to sleep.
>>
>>4986664
>Supporting
Wow, okay I forgot about the lap pillow thing. Part of my decision making was under the assumption that we were still new to this and time to ourselves was a good idea.
Maybe we should take her along more often.
Also, Percy would die to see Eli in a Salazzle costume, something like a biker body suit with the zipper down would be nice.
>>
>>4986809
>Eli in skin tight road leathers
>Zipper goes alllll the way does to her navel
God damn, Percy has some excellent taste.
>>
>>4986573
>>You need some rest, hug Eli, and cuddle until you both fall asleep.

>>4986649
Do NOT tell her we love her.
>>
>>4986573
>You need some rest, hug Eli, and cuddle until you both fall asleep.

>>4986575
Kali's definitely growing on us, I'd say, and we're properly starting to live up to our promise to C.G. Orizaba. She'll also treat Shinji right, though her party's personalities might be more of an issue for Shinji. He'll probably get used to it, though.

Diane is, indeed, a bit dorky, but honestly far more competent and far closer to the mark you would assume for a conspiracy nut. I think she's kinda cool, anyways.

Froakie will come around in time, but it's good to see that he'll at least be cooperative in battle and such. For some reason I want to see how he'll interact with Mimikyu.
>>
>>4986573
>>Ask Eli about that phone call.
>You need some rest, hug Eli, and cuddle until you both fall asleep.
>>4986575
I wish Edgy froakie was as cool as Solaire. Diane and Eli seem like they could be really good friends. Kali will be fine with shinji.
>>
>>4986573
Not now but we definitely should fill Eli in on what we're caught up in before we leave in the morning.
>>
>>4986575
>How is Percy feeling about Kali now?
A lot better and more hopeful for the future.
>Will she be a good trainer for Shinji?
The tsundere charm will reach his heart like it did his namesake
>What does he think about Diane?
The competence is admirable. Wonders what her link to the Arsonist is, and how she might feel about him given his resemblance to Arsonist.
>what about his new edgy Froakie?
He'll fit right in eventually.

>>4986649
>and Peppy Young Lord Prince should sort him out fast
I can see it now: Once the Froakie finds out about Prince being the son of the Yellow King and what that all means, will swear his fealty to him, and Prince will pull the "no, we're friends, you're not my tool or my servant, stop that" card. And they'll end up as the "cool ruler with a heart of gold and his edgy right-hand man bro-for-life" if you get what I mean?
>>
>>4986573
>store >>4986809 and >>4986850 ideas in your mind for the future...
>make a note of doing >>4986948 tomorrow before heading out to Dr. Aspen and contacting Ford again
>"Hey Eli, just wanna say you make me happier than a Ludicolo, I am glad I met you"
>You need some rest, hug Eli, and cuddle until you both fall asleep.
>>
>>4986948
>>4987020
>fill Eli in on what we're caught up in
Kali doesn't want Dick or Eli involved with White Veil or the Behemoths unless it becomes an emergency, at which point we'd ideally consult with her before spilling the beans.

Kali is cool, Shinji is in good hands.
Diane's fun to have around, and we'll never admit it but she is kinda cool.
I got high hopes for Froakie, he'll be the greatest frogkage of his time.
>>4986862
>For some reason I want to see how he'll interact with Mimikyu.
Mimikyu is somehow the most alike Froakie in the team, he's unironically chuuni with his honoraburu servant schtick.
>>
>>4987039
Can confirm, we should probably just keep this under our hat unless it's an emergency - we promised Kali that, and it's a ton to just dump on Eli out of nowhere regardless.

>>4987096
Yeah, they're very similar in that regard. The big difference is that Mimikyu's loyalty seems to come from his regard from us (as seen with his frequent attempts to keep us out of stupid situations and how he would never leave us despite how much we make him worry), while it seems to be purely business on Froakie's end - he's here to do his part of the job (battling) and he'll do it to the best of his ability, but he isn't going to shift from his lane easily. Seems like it'll make for an interesting dynamic.
>>
>>4987127
The giant Vespiqueen seems like something we'll need her for and she deserves to have some idea of what we're dealing with in case we get kidnapped/trapped so she has an idea of where to look. White Veil stuff can sit but the Behemoth stuff she should know.
>>
Didn't Kali have an Espurr when she was younger?
>>
>>4987377
Pachirisu.
>>
>>4987392
Which died and became the Gastly/Haunter she has now
>>
>>4987322
Then we can tell her we got mixed up with a giant fuck-off Vespiqueen on par with the desert hippo that's currently planning to overrun the town because we fucked up trying to diplomat our way through the issue. Don't gotta fill her in on the Behemoths for that. Considering it's gonna be such a big operation, there's a chance she may have gotten involved on her own further down the line anyway. And even then we should STILL consult Kali first to make sure she's cool with how much we plan to share.

“Whose team leader anyways’”/ A discussion between mons.

In the dark of the night, inside a hostel room, a group of mons gets ready to rest, their trainers just went to sleep after making out for a long while on one of the beds. It was a bit awkward, but they were really in the mood and nobody dared interrupt the hormonal pair of teens, Loudred kept her eyes closed, she got flustered pretty quick. After a long discussion, the mons of both teams finally settled on who gets the remaining beds of the hostel room.

[Houndour]: Alright, Loudred, Vulpix, Prince, Mimikyu you guys can take the remaining bed. I’ll sleep on the floor.

[Vulpix]: I can sleep with you Houndy.

[Houndour]: No

[Houndour]: And Mimikyu make sure to get some sleep, don’t stay up all night watching over Partner.

Houndour notices Froakie still reclining against the wall observing everyone with a glare, he looks like a pain in the ass to deal with it but at the very least he has kept to himself, for the time being, he approaches the water type to give him a heads up.

[Houndour]: Hey, you better get some rest, we usually train in the mornings so you gotta be ready.

[Houndour]: There’s still space on the bed if you don’t mind the crowd.

[Froakie]: I don’t have to listen to you, the Human is the one calling the shots.
Froakie retorts, challenging the authority of his senior.

[Vulpix]: Nuh-huh. You have to. He’s the team leader.

[Loudred]: Yup, Houndour is kind of the team leader

[Froakie]: …That’s the Trainer’s job?

[Houndour]: Yeah, I’m just helping my partner to keep things running smoothly. I’m no leader.

[Mimikyu]: That’s right! Master’s orders are absolute!

[Froakie]: Yes. The humans call the moves used in battle. He chooses who gets to fight and when…

[Loudred] but Percy is more like a friend and a coach? He’s always looking out for us, but he doesn’t really tell us to stop doing things unless it’s absolutely necessary. Houndour is usually the one maintaining the order.

[Froakie]: Then why is he the leader? Is he the strongest among you weaklings?

[Froakie]: …If I prove that I’m stronger, would I be the LEADER?

Froakie glares daggers at Houndour, measuring his potential target, if he were to prove his obvious superiority they’ll fear him enough to leave him alone, the type matchup is in his favor and he’s not afraid to use any methods to make his opponent submit. First, a “Smokescreen” for a surprise attack, “Quick Attack” to his hind legs, try to break the bone, crawl onto his back and use “Bubble” to cover his head, drowning him until he admits defeat.

[1/2]
>>
>>4987989
A tired Houndour nonchalantly dismisses Froakie’s bloodlust with a tired sigh and clarifies the situation.

[Houndour]: I’m not the strongest, that’s Loudred.

[Mimikyu]: In terms of raw strength, she’s our best bet.

[Vulpix]: She can snap a big ol tree in two with her arms!
[Vulpix]: But I can do it with my mi~i~i~nd

[Prince]: No you can’t. And yes, Loudred is super strong!

[Vulpix]: I’ll be able to someday!

[Loudred]: Aww, thanks guys! I try my best.

[Prince]: In terms of seniority, he, Mimikyu, and Loudred are the original members of the group. But Loudred isn’t really the leader type, she’s too lenient. When Houndour was teaching me to hunt she kept bringing me snacks in secret.

[Loudred]: Yup, I’m not really cut for leading, how about you sis?

[Vulpix]: Nah, it’s too boring. I got better things to do.

[Loudred]: Bro Mimikyu is Percy’s personal bodyguard. But big bro Houndour is always on the lookout for any dangers to us. He makes sure we don’t get into much trouble, and he is the first one to question Percy’s judgment on things if something doesn’t sit right with him or us.

[Loudred]: Also, Percy trusted him to look out for lil bro Prince which is a pretty big task.

[Prince]: Hmm. I’d say Pa and Houndour are co-leaders. They are partners after all.

[Mimikyu]: No! Master is Master! Houndour is just a helpful addition to HIS team.

[Loudred]: Yeah, co-leader sounds about right.

[Vulpix]: I dunno, I get more of a Leader vibe from Houndour than Trainer.

[Loudred]: And Prince is a prince but he’s still not ready to assume the throne.

[Prince]: Yeah, that’s another can of worm I’m not ready to deal with.

[Froakie]: ... A prince of what?

[Loudred]: Oh, a secret Pokémon kingdom hidden throughout a city. His father is a GIANT angry Electivire and also a science experiment thingie? Maybe that’s why Prince can talk like a human?

[Froakie]:…

[Froakie]: I’m going to sleep. Don’t bother me.

Froakie who has grown exasperated with his new teammates returns to his Pokéball. Are they messing with him? What are these mind games? He mulls this over for a while.

[Houndour]: You all should follow his example, we got stuff to do tomorrow.

The discussion is over with an agreement on Houndour’s role on the team, he doesn’t like being called a leader since he’s doesn’t feel ready to lead a pack but still, he can’t help but feel a great amount of pride when his teammates tell him how they see him. He stops for a moment and feels like he made the right decision that day he decided to follow you on your journey as equals.

He expects you to not betray this agreement and prove to him that there are decent humans amongst trainers, so far, you’ve done well. He looks at you, sleeping alongside the loud, brash female you choose as your mate and he quietly murmurs “Good night, Partner”

[End]

>How is Percy feeling about Kali now?
We can at least trust her to NOT torture her mons and immediate friends? She just wants to succeed as a normal girl without letting folks find out about all the bullshit on her shoulders, and that’s pretty cool when she isn’t being a manipulative bitch. There’s almost definitely a nugget of something good worth salvaging in there.
>Will she be a good trainer for Shinji?
After living who knows how much of his life in the robot under someone else’s orders, Shinji probably needs someone that can help him learn to be his own person. Kali can give him the push he needs while the rest of her team can provide support for when things get tough, with Kali’s own affection for the line hopefully mellowing things out enough for Shinji to feel loved.
>What does he think about Diane?
Diane is absolutely a dork, but that’s probably just because she spends so much time alone with no one but her mons and those image boards and forums to keep her company. In reality she’s actually pretty cool, mostly because she has the chops to adventure on her own. She’s basically a watered down fusion of Percy, Kali, and Eli’s complementing skill sets. As for being the Arsonist’s former(?) friend though... that’s kind of worrying considering I vaguely recall her possibly being on his official shit list. But, that can wait until we’ve gone through some of our more immediate concerns.
>What about his new edgy Froakie?
Could be worse; he may be poorly socialized and ready to butt heads with the team, but at least he isn’t openly aggressive which is apparently a common problem with strong, well-bred pokemon. As long as we humor him until the situation calls for a former hand, he’ll probably be cooperative until he gets comfortable enough around everyone to come around.

>How is Percy feeling about Kali right now?
Percy is eager to be her friend, but there's still some caution taken around her. It's like approaching a wild pokemon, they can be docile as long as you treat them with respect, given time they might even trust you. It's plain to see that Kali has begun to trust us.
>Will she be a good trainer for Shinji?
Despite her initial behavior and treatment of Growlithe, I do think it's safe to assume that she's learned to be conscious of her Pokemon's limits and health, especially after we took offense to Growlithe's treatment. If she doesn't then I'm confident that Percy won't hesitate to remove Shinji from her custody.
>What does he think about Diane?
She's a dork, but goddam is she cool when you don't know that.
>What about his new edgy Froakie?
I think that he'll get along with Mimikyu the most if their goals align, but bash heads with Vulpix and Prince.
The power of friendship will consume him.
And if it doesn't then we'll swap him out for the tyrunt.

You look up to Eli’s face and realize that no one has ever looked at you like that, her gaze is fixed in yours her lips draw a slight smile that she herself hasn’t realized she’s doing. The longing, the care, and intensity of her expression, it's hard to believe those feelings are directed at you, but to be honest you feel the same way

[Eli]: Watchu staring at weirdo?

You try to find the right words to express how are you feeling.

[Percy]: Ludicolo
[Eli]: Wuzzat?
[Percy]: You really make me feel happier than a Ludicolo in the rain.
[Percy]: I am really glad I met you.
[Eli]: You are the sappiest nerd I’ve known.
[Eli]: But I’m glad too.
[Eli]: Now shut up.

She silences you with a soft kiss on the lips. Without a word she lays on the bed by your side and hugs your chest tightly, you respond in kind, the two of you shift around for a while sharing a small intimate moment while finding the most comfortable position to sleep in. The softness and warmth of her body are too much. There’s a strange mix of the excitement from having her body so close and a feeling of calm and peace from her presence.

21 days left before the fall of Adage Village.
Wednesday. 6:00 am, 16th day of your Journey

You hear the sound of a shower running and rummaging through the room but it’s not enough to get you up.

“Hey nerd, I’m going for a jog, so freshen up, see you at breakfast aight?”

You try to reply but can’t find the words when you feel her hand softly caressing your hair before she leaves.
You consider joining her for some morning exercise, but you are still feeling sleepy, you end up snoozing for a couple of minutes more before the sensation of a small set of paws pressing down on your chest, bouncing excitedly wake you up.

Hey, Trainer! Trainer! Wake up, Trainer! Traaaaineeeer!” You team member seems really eager and excited as she keeps jumping up and down in the bed.
“What’s the matter Vulpix?” You ask her while yawning.

[Vulpix]: Have you come up with a nickname for me yet? You did! haven’t you?
[Percy]: Eh…
[Vulpix]: I got some suggestions! I’ve been thinking about it all day! I got Prince to write them down so I wouldn’t forget!
She scatters through the room looking for the list and hands it to you.

[Vulpix]: So? What’s my new nickname? Huh, huh?
[Percy]: How about Shear? Like “Sheer Cold”?

Vulpix muses about her new nickname for a moment before gleefully accepting it.

[Vulpix]: Yeah! That’s great Trainer! I like it!

She gets closer to your face and nuzzles you, she’s way too happy about this. She goes around the room letting everyone know about her new nickname rubbing it on their faces. Loudred is happy she finally got one after wanting one for so long. Houndour and Froakie dismiss her childish boasting, Mimikyu politely congratulates her telling her she should be honored to receive a moniker given by “Master”, and Prince is just a bit salty about it but doesn’t let her get to him.

[Percy]: Now, you can stop calling me Trainer and just call me Percy
[Vulpix]: Nope, since you gave me a nickname, I shall do the same and dub you Sir Parzival the fearless!

After getting you and your team ready to tackle the day you met with traveling companions to share some breakfast before training. As you make your way into the small home owned dinner you notice that some people around you, it's mostly trainers who are gazing at you and murmuring between them. You wonder what’s going on.

[Gareth]: You didn’t know? Your battle at the Water Gym aired yesterday. Eli and I made a run to avoid missing it
[Eli]: Yeah, you are going to start getting on people’s radar. Don’t be weirded out if other trainers start to challenge you out of the blue now.
[Gareth]: That’s right, people on the net are starting to talk about you

One group of trainers finally work the courage to walk up to you and ask if you are the one from yesterday’s battle. Not being sure how to react you just nod and then they ask for a demonstration of your Poké-communication and a picture with you. You oblige still a bit confused as the trio of girls snap some photos with you.

While you were a bit awkward at first you shake off the feeling and interact with your “fans” without a problem using what Daniel the coordinator taught you back at Lacrimosa.

It surprises how someone who barely knows you can look up to you. After giving the girls a couple of pointers on Pokémon raising and making small talk with a Marill of theirs they leave feeling elated.

>Percival has a positive attitude regarding this newfound fame.

You just hope this doesn’t go to your head, also maybe the extra attention will make it harder for you to deal with all the stuff you got on your plate, but you are sure you can keep things under wraps. Right?

As you finish your breakfast you see Kadabra calling you out from outside the dinner.
[Kadabra]: Percy, can I have a few words with you?
You comply with your psychic friend as he asks you to talk in private.

[Kadabra]: I apologize for my absence. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking.

[Kadabra]: First I thank you for letting me accompany you on this journey. It’s been my privilege.

[Percy]: No problem Kadabra, I’m glad you came with us.

[Kadabra]: To be honest one of the main reasons I came along is because Murkrow, Meowth, and I weren’t sure if you’d be okay on your own without our help

[Kadabra]: But you’ve proved to me how much you’ve grown. You have a capable group of teammates now, you found new friends both Pokémon and most surprisingly humans

[Kadabra] You are not the same small boy who got shoved into trash cans. You are a capable master now.

[Kadabra]: I have also been learning more about humans during this journey, and I believe I found someone with potential for growth.

[Kadabra]: I consider Gareth to have what it takes to be a great trainer, but he is still inexperienced, I don’t know why but I want to aid him in this journey.

[Kadabra]: I hope you don’t take this as an offense, but I wish to join his team officially.

[Kadabra]: You are going to delve into dangerous territory with your desire to help others, so know that you can count on me and Gareth if the situation arises.

Kadabra fetches Gareth who wasn’t completely in the know about the psychic mons decision. As you two explain the situation he seems to be on board with it even though he can’t hide his surprise.

“Really Kadabra? You know I’m not the best when it comes to Pokémon training” ask the incredulous young man, still not believing Kadabra. Your psychic friend nods in agreement, he’s sure of his decision. “Alright, I won’t let you two down. Welcome to the team!”
You decide to trust Gareth with one of your first friends. You hand him Kadabra’s Pokéball and as the trainer takes it into his possession Kadabra starts to emit a blinding light. In a flash Kadabra isn’t Kadabra anymore, he’s taller, his limbs longer and is now dual-wielding two of his knives.

>Kadabra evolved into Alakazam.

It’s a bit painful seeing him go with another trainer but this is probably for the best, you are glad they made a connection and Gareth probably does needs his support more than you do. Still, this is not goodbye, Gareth will probably stick around for a bit longer.

The newly evolved psychic mons floats towards you and puts his hand on your shoulder most reassuringly. “Thanks Percy

After going to a Pokémon center to make the exchange official for Aztlan laws registering Alakazam as Gareth’s Pokémon. This is probably for the best, if you had Alakazam under your supervision you could get into legal trouble for exceeding the “6 Pokémon per trainer” carry limit.

After that you return with Eli and all the mons for your daily training session, you got a new member joining you today so it may be good to see what he’s capable of doing.
Your team gets ready for some training and sparring, they’ve known each other for a while so they are familiar with this whole drill.

Froakie hangs back keeping his distance from the rest of the team as he analyses their behavior as well the teams of both Gareth and Eli. Measuring their strength seeing who is stronger than him, who can he take on. He notices you looking at him and gets a tad annoyed. “Tch, what do you want me to do? I hope you have some serious training in mind, I’m not here to play around. ”

You decide to let Froakie spar against a member of your team on his own to see hoe approaches battles in a general one-on-one. “Very well, get ready to get them to a Pokémon center when I’m done with them,” he says in a serious tone dripping with overconfidence.
You use the Pokédex you nabbed back at the Whistling Desert to check his stats and moves, as expected from a Pokémon specially bred and prepared for combat his stats are through the roof for a mon so young.

Froakie:
Overall tier: Intermediate
Ability: PROTEAN
[IN]

Health: Average
Attack: Above average
Sp.Attack: +STRONG
Defense: Low
Sp. Defense: Below Average
Speed: +STRONG
Stamina: High

He has that [IN] thing popping out on his description, same as Loudred, you guess it has to do with Pokémon from breeders? You have suspected that Loudred is a mon that either escaped or got lost from its breeders because of her massive strength. You recall Professor Maple saying something about a project related to Loudred that was mentioned in some of the White Veil documents you stole.

You decide to deal with that later, now you gotta train. Froakie is itching for a fight, he tries to keep his cool but he seems to have been waiting for a chance like this from the moment he arrived. Now, who’s gonna fight him?

>Houndour
One of the seniors of your team and the one who seems to help you keep things running, respected by the others. Strong, a bit too serious, and doesn’t play around. He’ll take this match seriously.
>Loudred
Arguably the strongest mon on your team, she usually has to hold back her full strength when battling another Pokémon, she’s also quite resilient. She’s laid back and a bit too kind to others but if she gets pushed too hard she’ll lay down the hurt. Maybe she’ll help Froakie chill out.
>Mimikyu
The fastest in your team, complaint and eager to please. He wants everyone in your team to respect you as much as he does, he’ll have no problem beating the new recruit into shape. It could probably be a good chance to compare their speed and accuracy.
>Shear the Vulpix
Not as strong as the others in terms of raw power but fighting her is tricky, her "confuse ray" puts her opponents in awkward situations and her psychic moves are particularly strong. She’s quite haughty and lets victories get to her head.
>Prince
The youngest in your team, the little Elekid is still a bit awkward around other Pokémon but he has no trouble battling anymore. He’s pretty damn strong considering his lineage and the type disadvantage may prove to be a challenge for Froakie.
>Let Froakie choose.

Froakie should be the one to make the call, after all, he has spent all this time sizing your team up, he probably has a vague idea of their respective strengths, also you are curious about his decision.
The water type was originally planning on challenging Houndour since the other perceive him as a figure of authority but after last night's conversation he has learned that he’s not the strongest, but Loudred is. But then there’s a good chance that the purple mon won’t take him as seriously as he’d like and he’s a bit wary about her strength, she reminds him of some of the other Pokémon in the labs, those who are really strong tend to have oddball personalities.

He’s set on battling Prince, the Vulpix seems annoying to deal with and the Mimikyu seems troublesome. Beating the nervous-looking Elekid, even with the type disadvantage should prove to be a nice warmup, depending on how quickly he beats him he may challenge another member he believes.

Froakie approaches your adopted son, pointing at him and coldly stating. “To the battlefield”. The confused Elekid replies “Me? You sure? O-okay, just let me get ready ” he grabs his little King’s rock and runs with his short legs to the improvised arena in the middle of the park you are training on.

Let’s make this quick ” The Froakie states as he prepares to decimate his opponent.

>COLD BLOODED FROAKIE VS. PRINCE “SON OF A BEHEMOTH”

Hey Pa, what should I do?” Prince asks you for advice feeling a bit unsure on how to tackle the situation, you tell him to use everything he has learned from his previous battles and seeing his teammates fight.

Froakie who has a serious edge with his speeds starts the battle with “Mud Sport”, he quickly spins around the battlefield drenching the earth with blasts of water to create as much mud as possible before kicking it towards Prince direction and changing his typing to be immune to any Electric moves for the remainder of the turn.

> Electric-type attacks weakened!

Prince uses this chance to set up his defenses with a “Light Screen”, Froakie tries to go on the offensive with a full power Water Pulse directed at him but Prince defensive measure whether the attack to be almost inconsequential as he uses “Quick Attack” to close the distance between him and the water type in one swift movement he runs trough the arena and bashes Froakie on his stomach. The strength surprises, it’s more painful than what he was expecting, knocking the air out of him for a moment.

Finding himself against the ropes the water type jumps backward and uses “Smokescreen” to hide but is buffeted by a barrage of “Swift” that follows him amidst the smoke. He tries to use “Lick” to ignore the “Light Screen” and paralyze his target, his long tongue extends at an incredible speed as hitting Prince in an arm, Froakie hopes he paralyzed him but even if he didn’t he’ll switch out with a “Substitute” and take Prince down with a surprise attack from behind, but the Frog mon can switch out, his tongue is being firmly held in place by Prince.

The little yellow egg uses Shock Wave directly unto its tongue bypassing the effect of the “Mudsport”, a shocked Froakie can barely react as he gets pulled toward Prince by the tongue before he gets decked with devastating “Fire Punch” to the face, his natural resistance to Fire undone by his Protean ability and use of a ghost type move.

Froakie lays unconscious on the ground mumbling things about “True Strength” and “Friends make you weak”, Loudred and Prince go to fetch some water to splash him with. After he gets soaked Froakie bolts up suddenly, seeming dazed and confused, he tries too tough it up but he’s groaning in pain as he tries to get up from the ground, his tongue hangs out from the side of his mouth still numb from being shocked.

Prince seems preoccupied with roughing his newest teammate too badly.

>” Prince, did you learn your move typings and you know how Protean works? I’m proud of you”
>(To Froakie) “Lesson learned?”
>(To Froakie) “You want to sit this training session out? Let’s go to a Pokémon center”
>” You okay? Want to keep training?”
>Give Froakie a Cheri berry to get rid of his tongue’s numbness.
>” That wasn’t half bad, it was a good use of evasive maneuvers and you adapted to the light screen after seeing that your special attacks weren’t cutting it, but we still got a lot of room to improve”

You ask the little Electric type if he learn move typings and how Protean works since he seemed to know during the battle. “I’ve been trying to learn more about battles and other Pokémon” he responds modestly, a bit flustered by your praise, you are really proud of Prince and you let him know it. “Thanks Pa, I just want to be knowledgeable like you”
>Prince’s mood improved! He’ll have a bonus on combat rolls.

You… ” Froakie points at Prince, frustrated by his defeat

[Froakie]: This is not going to end like this. I’ll catch up to you in no time.
[Froakie]: Next time we battle you’ll know the true meaning of defeat.
[Froakie]: Mark my words.

[Prince]: Uhh… alright? Do your best?

You approach Froakie with a Cheri berry on hand and offer him it for his numb tongue. He glares at you for a bit, almost offended before snatching it out of your hands and eating it. “You okay? Want to keep training?” you ask the small Water Type still on the floor.

“Of course I will.“ He tells you between pants, his speech slurred since he can’t get his tongue inside his mouth, he tries to get up by himself but after some pained grunts, he decides to rest for a bit. “Just give me a minute”. Surprisingly Froakie manages to shake off that beatdown and he integrates with the others in their training his stamina is quite something. He’s being a bit more cautious but still nonetheless cold to them

You are sure he’ll turn around, but it’ll probably take him some time.
>Froakie has now begrudging respect for Prince and has made his objective to surpass him.

With that out of the way, your usual training resumes. You’ll probably head up to High Alva city next, where the fighting type gym is, not to mention you’ll have to deal with the Vespiqueen in Adage Village one of these days, Kali is one badge ahead of you and both Eli and Gareth’s team are getting stronger each day, this means you need to improve as well.

Our baby boy has his very own rival.

Houndour: Basic foundation training pays off in the long run. He's got it now, its only a matter of evolving him to reach his new heights.
>He wanted to learn Foul Play before evolving, focus on that, maybe then he’ll be more open to the idea of becoming a Houndoom

Loudred: She is ridiculously strong already, even though she's slow. If she can't hit a target it's for nothing.
>Train her reaction time, and Special Attack, so that she can catch opponents in fights.

Mimikyu: He's our dutiful speed demon butler, who's one hell of a butler. But we got someone who can be just as fast. If he isn't making clones from his speed, he isn't fast enough.
>Lets keep working on his speed and evasiveness! Pair him up with Froakie so he can mentor him in this regard.

Shear the Vulpix: Same as Houndour, doubly so for our icy cannon. Good base workout to flex her wizard brain.
>The usual training, help her improve on her strengths and work on her weaknesses, but focus on strengthening her Psychic and Fairy-type moves. They could prove crucial in the next gym.

Prince: He needs some confidence, and the best method is to pair him with Sasu-I mean, Froakie, and their mentor Kakas-I mean, Mimikyu.

Houndour will be learning Foul Play, you'll be helping Loudred to improve her reaction time and Special Attack. Vulpix will be learning to use Sheer Cold, Prince will be mastering Thunderbolt and Froakie will be working with some of your TMs mainly Scald and Ice Beam, maybe Toxic if you got the chance.

>Everyone's got a new training regimen.

Damn, seems like you got a pretty packed schedule for their training, it'll probably take them a couple of days to get it down.

You waste no time and start with each of their respective training regimens for the rest of the training session. They still got ways to go, maybe they'll benefit by focusing your attention in one mon at a time, get some one-on-one training sessions.

Once the training is over you take a small break with your team and ask the other trainers what they got planned for the day. Eli is going to fight some local trainers to get some more battling experience and win some money. “I could always use more dosh” and Gareth is going to spend some quality time with the White Veil Employee he met a while ago "Lydia".

Prince who seems a tad worried about his new teammate tugs your shirt to get your attention. "Hey pa, is he gonna be okay? Froakie looked really pissed" he glances at Froakie who is still glaring at the small egg boy from time to time.

>"Don't worry about him too much Prince, he'll come around, just give him some time"
>"He probably needs a buddy, could you try to be a friend to him? Just make sure to give him some space"
>The budding rivalry may be good for both Prince and Froakie, ask the little behemoth to continue pushing his new teammate and compete with him from time to time.
>Honestly, Froakie is a bit of a pain to deal with but is your responsibility as his trainer.
>Ask Mimikyu to keep an eye on Froakie, their loner nature may lead them to an understanding.
>Houndour did a good job with Prince, ask him to watch over the new member

You decide to be clear and direct with Prince. "You know what? I don't know. Right now, he doesn't like you very much, because you beat him when he was trying to prove himself as a bigshot. He seems to consider you, his rival.”
“That sounds a bit troublesome, but I believe it’s better than he plainly ignoring the rest of the team” Prince responds glancing at the angry frog who’s mumbling about his revenge.

“Maybe, with enough time, he'll warm up to you, and the rest of us. Maybe he won't, maybe that's just his personality and he won't really get along with anybody. And that's okay too, so long as he behaves. What's important is that you didn't do anything wrong and that he's still your teammate.” You try to ease his worries in a supportive manner, imitating your own father giving you advice.

“Honestly it sounds complicated, It’d be easier not getting involved with him too much, but I feel like I should do something as his teammate“ The little mon seems to feel a bit responsible for his teammate as his immediate senior.

“How do you think you should deal with him, Prince? Settling personnel disputes and keeping people both happy and in-line are things you'll have to deal with if you become king someday.” Prince seems a bit unsure when you mention his obligations as a future king but takes your words into consideration.

What do you think is the best way to approach Froakie? As a friend, as a rival, as a superior? It's your call, little guy.” You put your trust in Prince being able to solve this conundrum by himself, he ponders about the issue for a moment before getting his thoughts in order.

“I’m still not sure if I want to be a king but I want our team to work! I hope we could be friends but as long as we can work together, I think that’s enough, communication is key so at the very least I’d like him to take us into consideration, I’ll try to use this rival thing for that” He explains to you,

>Prince will take the role of Froakie’s rival to improve his communication with others.

Feeling proud of your young adopted Poké-son you give him a reassuring pat on the back and ruffle his fur a bit until static starts to fly off.

After resting for a moment, you make your way to Dr. Aspen labs, a busy-looking employee directs you to the Doc, she’s been waiting for you all morning. She invites you to see the place

Even though it doesn’t seem to have many people the place is lively with almost every researcher and worker hurriedly making their way through the premises as they hurry to compensate for their lack of manpower, what this place isn’t lacking is on Pokémon, a great deal of them roam freely through the premises while other, particularly the more rowdy, violent or unstable seem to remain in their room and only go out accompanied by other mons and people.

Some of the Pokémon here seem a bit skittish and untrustworthy of people others from their direct caretakers and the doc, others seem to have different forms of permanent damage to their bodies you see one of the employees helping a Dodrio get accustomed to his prosthetic leg and making the necessary adjustments to do so. Another worker alongside a Linoone tries to get an anemic-looking Buneary to eat, she’s connected to an IV drip but seems too depressed to even try to eat by herself. Seeing a great deal of Pokémon like this is depressing but it is comforting to see the workers around the lab try so hard to get them better.

The Doc apologizes for the state of the lab, she shows you the way to the room where she wanted to conduct some tests in Prince, you don’t have much opportunity to make conversation as the researcher checks on as many Pokémon she can on the way there. “My apologies Percival, we have a lot of work as you can see”

>Ask her about her argument with the White Veil employee.
>You want to know more about this place, the doc called it a rehabilitation and research center for Pokémon, where did they get so many Pokémon?
>Ask her if she’s really okay with helping you, Professor Maple probably warned her already but you are treading on dangerous territory.
>Ask about the lack of workers, she’s an Elite 4, shouldn’t she be able to hire more people?

Inquiring about her argument with the White Veil employee seems to light up something the level-headed professor.

[Dr. Aspen]: Oh, I’m sorry for such an embarrassing display.
[Dr. Aspen]: I used to work with them, like most people interested in Pokémon research that’s where I got my start
[Dr. Aspen]: I left after I learned about their more “controversial” research, I just couldn’t stay there
[Dr. Aspen]: I tried denouncing their activities, their experimenting without regard of Pokémon’s wellbeing.
[Dr. Aspen]: But my complaints went unheard, they got the backing of the government, they are one of the backbones of Aztlan’s economy after all.
[Dr. Aspen]: I’ve been collecting enough proof of their actions so I can have a strong enough case against them,
[Dr. Aspen]: And now they want me back as if they could shut me up me with money.
[Dr. Aspen]: They are truly a vile group, with no regard for morals, Pokémon, nor people.

The professor doesn't make any attempt to hide her hatred for White Veil labs, even with their cold and calm demeanor every word she uses to refer to them is dripping with vitriol and resentment.

[Percy]: Are you sure you want to help us through? I don’t know if Professor Maple warned you but we are threading in some dangerous territory.

[Dr. Aspen]: I know this could turn into a dire situation, but I believe it will be worth the risk if we can take them down a peg and expose them for who they are, make them accountable for their sins.
[Dr. Aspen]: As an Elite 4, I’m certain they’ll have more than enough trouble taking me down.
[Dr. Aspen]: I should be the one asking you, why are you risking yourself for this? You are a young trainer with a promising future ahead of you from what I’ve heard. Why do you involve yourself with White Veil?

>“ It’s a bit selfish but the truth is I’m mostly doing this to help someone, she’s really important to me.”
> “I want to help some people, a pair of sisters actually, they don’t have anyone else to turn to “
> “I’ve seen some of the results of their research, that Vespiquen Behemoth, they could be a danger to everyone”

[Percy]: Everything white veil has done, the Behemoths, the survivors of their experiments living in the White Room, Victoria, and Kali. They caused so much pain to people and Pokémon that never asked for it.

I[Percy]: want to help them, I learned about all of what’s happening and I got the means to do so, why shouldn’t I try to do it? I can’t just ignore it or burden someone else with all the responsibility.

[Dr. Aspen]: I commend your goal and believe that your conviction will prove useful if it has brought you this far.
[Dr. Aspen]: But don’t carry the burden of this responsibility all by your lonesome, if you do it won’t end well.
[Dr. Aspen] Because sometimes we can’t save everyone

You accompany the Doctor to a room filled with different kinds of machines and scanners, you recognize some of the equipment, it’s used to measure all sorts of abnormal frequencies produced by Pokémon, energy signatures, different types of radiation, all sort of stuff. She walks toward a machine her workers are just finishing tuning and asks you to let Prince inside the scanner-looking apparatus.

Prince is a bit nervous, but the Doctor assures him that it’s perfectly safe. She crouches to his level and takes one of his claws with her pinkie and tells him “I promise it won’t hurt a bit; I swear on my life”. Her tone is almost motherly compared to the more serious demeanor she takes with you and her employees, it seems to soothe Prince's nervousness.

The test was quite extensive, after going through various scanners and a series of exams measuring Prince's physical capabilities, electric output, and some blood testing you finally got the results. The “Distortion Particles” readings are lower compared to the ones you got from the samples of Queen of Insects Silver Powder and the data in the documents.

“He’s most certainly not a normal Elekid but his readings don’t completely match one of a Behemoth, he’ll definitely become a powerful Electivire when he evolves but he won’t be a full-fledged Behemoth unless he undergoes an abnormal event that exposes him to a lot of these particles he’ll be more or less a normal Pokémon, stronger and smarter than most but not a Behemoth” Prince seems to have mixed feelings on the issue, a part of him is relieved that he could be considered normal but is a bit afraid of disappointing the Yellow King.

After giving you the results, the Pokémon professor ask you if she could provide any aid to your mission. The doctor is a bit swamped with work for the time being, but she could start working on a project to help you out in your journey.

OMAKE/ EXTRA (Non-canon)
Class is in session/ Professor Williams is pretty weird.

Some years later…
North Pass University. Science Campus.

A group of students sit inside a classroom waiting for their professor to arrive, they all got their pens, recorders, and laptops on hand to take notes of the usual stupidly fast-paced lectures. The only ones remaining in the infamous class are the ones hoping to get into his research team or just really prideful students, anyone unlucky enough to take the class before learning about the Professor usually drops out.

He enters the class 20 minutes late, a lanky young man with long messy hair, wild eyes wearing a lab coat. “Sorry class, I saw this Pidgeot outside with the most abnormal feather pattern and got distracted” On his shoulder, there’s a Mimikyu who follows him wherever he goes.

He’s not a hard ass, but he tends to forget that his knowledge in the subject of Pokémon is so broad and extensive that is far from normal making his lectures a thing to behold but really hard to keep up with. A lot of the stuff he knows he does by experience and research, stuff that you won’t find in the books.

Also, the Pokémon professor is pretty young, being just a couple of years older than most students which makes some of them a bit uncomfortable

“…So the chemical composition of a Gulpin intestinal enzymes goes through this drastic change the moment it evolves, becoming reactive with the following compounds….” He rambles on and on as his Mimikyu does his best to complement the lecture drawing diagrams and visual aids on the chalkboard using his multiple tendrils.

The students have to slow the Professor down every ten minutes or so before he starts to get way too in-depth and starts throwing more and more complicated concepts. Everyone has a hard time dealing with him, except for one particular student.

[Victoria]: I’m sorry Professor, I was wondering about the abnormal cases when a Gulpin’s acid is too strong, and it ends up dissolving its own mucous membrane. There's a controversy if it was caused by their dietary habits or overuse of poison-type moves. What’s your stance on the issue?

[Percy]: I’m glad you asked, you see…

[Student]: Ah shit, they are caught in a loop again.

Every time they start going back and forth it’s hard to get them to stop, the Professor completely forgets about explaining more basic concepts and they get into these in-depth discussions. But this time he puts a halt to it.

“Oh crap, sorry guys, my kid is getting out of pre-school earlier than usual and I got to pick her up.”
“Mimikyu could you do me a solid and wrap this up?” He asks his trusty ghost type before he runs out of the classroom. Once again, the Professor forgot his students can’t talk to Pokémon.

Mimikyu sighs and goes outside to fetch the giant talking Electivire that hangs around campus. That's pretty bizarre too.

He actually just walks in with Mimikyu dressed in a proper suit and tie, with a coffee in hand, all clean and prepared like Percy taught him. And when some brave soul speaks up on what is going on, Prince and Mimikyu just share a tired look, and tell the kids that Percy is more wild than most Pokemon, and Eli can testify to that, then Prince pulls a reverse Percy and goes on a tangent on human mating habits and courtship rituals. Still dressed better than Percy because he can resist the urge to run off into the Forest with the kids to sketch a Wild Dudduo that had a funny feather patter.

I mean, unless we're planning to go back and recruit that one abomasnow, do we really have any reason to even keep it? Like, sure, fine, maybe we hang on to the keystone in hopes of repairing it, but why needlessly keep hold of something we can get into so much trouble over when we obviously aren't even gonna use it? Maybe we just test the waters by offering a hypothetical to see if she's cool with taking it off our hands, and depending on how she responds we also confide in her about the keystone?
>>

Ugh... I shouldn't post when I'm half asleep. To clarify, I was talking about getting rid of the abomasite. Something like "By the way, Professor... If, hypothetically speaking, someone were to have stumbled across certain... controlled evolutionary materials in a certain White Room that they wanted to discreetly get rid of and keep out of the wrong hands, preferably without running into trouble with the law or White Veil... The Vespiquen Behemoth is on your top list of priorities right now, you explain to Aspen the situation and ask her if it would be possible to create some form of chemical to help the mind-controlled people and subdued Pokémon living in the swamp. The Dr. understandably looks quite concerned about the situation, “I hoped that White Veil would try to clean after their own messes, leaving such dangerous being free, irresponsible idiots.”

“Something to counteract the effect of the pheromones, that might prove quite useful. I’ll get to it immediately.” The woman calls for some researchers who specialize in bug-type mons, she’s wasting no time on the issue and tells you that she hopes to have it ready in a couple of days, as soon as possible.

>Dr. Aspen and her assistants are now working on a cure for the pheromones

You use this chance to inquire the doc if she has any experience with Key Stones, her expression turns into one of irritation as she explains that she’s done a lot of work with them. “I was heavily involved with White Veil’s mega-evolution research, it’s one of the reasons she quit”. The research they were doing there was so inhumane to the Pokémon that it became the tipping point for her to leave the project even though she was one of the lead scientists directing the research.

“I’m glad that project never saw the light of day, Mega-Evolution can be dangerous if it’s not handled correctly, trying to force it, mass-produce it, commercialize it, make such powerful weapon be at everyone’s reach… I can’t believe I used to trust so much on them”
A colleague, specialized in the field of mega-evolution also left with her but he went through a different path and became involved with some shady business in Aztlan underbelly. “We’ve lost contact a while ago but I’m sure he’s still located at High Alva City”

The doctor questions why your sudden interest in keystones?
>Trust the doctor enough to show her you cracked Keystone and Abomasite and ask her if she can repair it.
>” I found this in the White Room, one of White Veil abandoned facilities” give her the Keystone and Abomasite so she can use it as evidence against White Veil.
>” I’m just very interested in the subject, academically speaking, but I don’t want to bother you much, could you give me some more info about your colleague? ” Lie, don’t show her the Keystone and try to learn more about this other researcher, he may be able to fix it.

The Keystone and Abomasite you’ve been lugging around are probably going to land you in hot water at some point, you decide to give it to the doctor who seems quite capable with this matter, it should help her in her case against White Veil, you give her the highly illegal items and recount how you got them at an abandoned facility now inhabited by the Pokémon they experimented on. The doc thanks you for your cooperation, she’ll make sure to hold onto it and tells you that if you ever find more evidence like this on your journey consider bringing it to her.

You are a bit disappointed about having to part ways with the Keystone but maybe you’ll be able to get one legitimately down the line.

After the test Aspen inquiries about your Poké-communication once more and ask for your help. There’s a Kecleon who was found attacking random passerby inside of “Silver Passage”, he was really violent before being subdued and has now entered an almost catatonic state. He spends the days huddled in a corner of a room muttering to himself over and over, refusing to eat or interacting with others. They have been keeping him in suspended animation inside a PC to avoid him starving himself to death. They’ve tried different types of stimuli, but he just won’t respond to anything.

There have been various reports of similar cases occurring around "Silver passage" and in the outskirts of Silverpoint city, of wild mons attacking random passersby and other wild mons seemingly unprovoked and with vicious ferocity.

You enter the room they got him in at the moment, just like the doctor described he is sitting by his lonesome in a corner of the room staring at the floor with a blank stare, at his side rest a tray full of food and berries untouched. The Pokémon looks pale and sickly as he mumbles something that’s barely audible.

The Doctor asks if you could try and communicate with him.

> Approach him alone, carefully, try to make sense of what he’s muttering.
> Channel your inner Kecleon, use your Poké-communication to try and ask him what’s wrong.

You prepare to use your communication abilities to the fullest, imitating a Kecleon normal pose, crouching slightly while arching your back, putting your arms closer to your chest, you start to waddle towards him while you vocalize its normal cry once your throat becomes adjusted to the sound you try to introduce yourself in a friendly manner but

You can hear the small reptile mutter something barely audible, “ glowing red eye…. follows me everywhere….no escape”

“You… understand me?” The Kecleon stops his mumbling and stares at you, seemingly dumbfounded. “ha- a human that understands us... ha, just like she said, hahahaha”
Kecleon starts to laugh almost uncontrollably while grabbing his head, there’s hopelessness in his words, his strange laughter is the one of a broken mon, whatever happened to him seems to have caused a deep effect on his psyche.

[Percy]: (Internally, to Vicky ) Did you do anything to a Kecleon recently?
[Victoria]: I’m a bit offended but no, It wasn't me
[Percy]: (Internally )Sorry, just had to check.

You turn back to the Kecleon who has thrown himself at you, grabbing you by the shirt while screaming in desperation.

[Kecleon]: PLEASE!
[Kecleon]: Please, release me from this torment! End me!
[Kecleon]: PLEASE, DO IT, IM BEGGING YOU.
[Kecleon]: It’s inside my MIND!
[Kecleon]: THEY CAN’T STOP IT! NO ONE CANS!
[Kecleon]: I'M NOT SAFE HERE, I’LL NEVER BE SAFE!
[Kecleon]: NO ONE WILL BE!
[Kecleon]: DO IT! DO IT! END ME!

[Froakie]: Shall I do it, human?
Froakie asks, dead serious. There’s an awkward pause.

[Shear]: Froakie, what the fuck?
[Mimikyu]: Please, moderate your language, it’s uncouth for a lady such as yourself
[Shear]: Sorry.
[Percy]: No one is killing anyone, chill out.

You try to get everyone to calm down but Kecleon is still freaking out begging for you to take him out of his misery. Prince and Houndour manage to talk Froakie out of trying to do a mercy kill. Loudred manages to restrain the Kecleon after he tried to bash his head into the wall and after. You manage to soothe him by making the room damper with the help of a reluctant Froakie, the humidity puts Kecleon at ease, the mon has gone back to being silent but at least he seems to be more responsive.

Before you get to continue the questioning you start to hear shouting and running outside the room, followed by explosions and gunshots.

>Screw this, let's try to escape the lab and find help.
>Let’s run out of the room and look for Dr. Aspen.
>Try to get more details out of the Kecleon quickly.

You command your mons to get out of the room and tell Froakie to take Kecleon with you. “I’m on it” he grabs him by the arm and drags him along. Your team rushes to the door, it’s jammed for some reason, but Loudred breaks it without much problem.
Running out of the room you search frantically for the Dr. The place has been overrun by men in combat uniforms very similar to the revolutionaries you met back at Madeleine town, they all are wearing gas masks and are armed. On the floor lay the researchers and workers of the lab as well as the Pokémon living here, they all are unconscious or about to lose consciousness but seemingly unhurt. You notice that there’s a strange gas filling the building, it seems to be coming from canisters scattered across the place. You don’t see Aspen anywhere.

There are sounds of an intense Pokémon battle going on, roaring and explosions make the building shake, you decide to follow it while holding your breath to avoid breathing whatever this gas is. Some of the armed men notice and shout, they are chasing you screaming at you to stop moving as they give chase. Mimikyu and Prince manage to slow them down enough with “Thunder Wave” and “Astonish”, this gives you enough time to get out of their sight, but they’ve notified the other revolutionaries and now they are hot on your trail. You are starting to feel a bit lightheaded and drowsy, your team seems to be feeling the same to various degrees.

>Send Froakie and some of your team members to get Kecleon to safety and search for help.
>Send Froakie and Kecleon alone to get help.
>Waste no time, “Everyone! Follow the sounds of the battle. It seems to be coming from the upper floors!”

At your command Loudred busts a hole in the wall with one solid punch, debris goes flying everywhere as the whole foundation of the building trembles from the impact, Shear blows away the dust with an Icy Wind, and you finally can take a breath without risking becoming unconscious.

While this happened you sent a text to Gareth explaining the situation and dialed him multiple times to get his attention, he responds quite quickly saying that Alakazam is already moving towards the Lab and he already called Eli, the two should get here in a bit.

Alright you still got this under control, but you have no time to relax, a group of 4 armed men has come running after hearing all the racket, they all got Pokéballs hanging onto their belts, 3 each one, at their side is a Conkeldurr fitted with one of the gas masks they were using, seems like they didn’t have enough equipment for all their Pokémon. The men point at you and your team with their guns and tell you to stand down and return your mons to their balls, if not they will open fire.

>Tell everyone to attack at once and try to run for it, go to where the Doctor must be. (Needs roll)

Using your Poké-communication you tell Froakie and Mimikyu to get ready to snatch the guns away from the revolutionaries, you'll give them a chance, one of the men shouts telling you to stop whatever you are doing, his voice seems to almost break, he sounded unsure of how to deal with this situation. It's not only that one revolutionary, the armed men all seem quite nervous, jumpy, and confused to different degrees, they probably weren't expecting your meddling in this.

Not having to worry about the sleeping gas anymore you take a deep breath and let out the most ferocious ROAR you can, the terrifying sounds coming out of your throat surprise even yourself, the Hydregon imitation you used was uncanny, hell is sounded more dangerous than the ROAR of an actual Hydreigon. The Conkeldurr instantly returns to his Pokéball, moved by instinct. The 4 revolutionaries all flinch for a moment giving your mons a chance to act. Mimikyu extends his tendrils at blinding speed retrieving two of the guns while Froakie uses "Quick Attack" to kick the weapons out of the hands of the remaining men.

Surprisingly, your throat isn't busted from the ROAR, it's quite sore but you still can verbally command your mons or do another ROAR if needed. Damn, you are in the zone today. With Mimikyu pointing the guns at the assailants and Froakie trying his best to hold a semi-automatic rifle clearly not made for a small Pokémon like himself, you tell the now unarmed revolutionaries to stand down. Three of them comply without objection and get on their knees while raising their hands. One of the most nervous soldiers tries to book it, he screams "screw this" before getting a Baltoy out of his Pokéball and teleporting away. The others decide not to risk it.

You look at your mons, aside from Mimikyu they all seem a bit unnerved by your roaring, particularly Froakie who keeps glancing at you quite confused and keeping his distance.

The commotion you just caused seems to have put all the other revolutionaries on high alert, you can hear Pokémon coming out of their Pokéballs and getting ordered to get ready for combat, some of the men who seem to be leading the assault starts ordering their grunts and mons to start gathering the workers and researchers of the lab to use as hostages and to start preparing an escape route.

The battle on the upper floors is still raging, suddenly you hear something approaching. A Swellow flies towards you carrying a girl clad in red with a serious expression. She jumps out of the Flying-type, releasing her mons out of their Pokéballs, her Ariados starts to shoot webs to restrain the neutralized revolutionaries. Diane lands on the floor posing a bit theatrically, you can tell she's practiced this landing quite a bit.

She smirks at the thought of having nailed that landing and then asks, "You good? I'm here to get you out of here"

She tells you that Eli and Gareth are running towards here, she arrived before thanks to her Swellow. Alakazam is already in position and ready to act.

>Waste no more time, you and Diane will confront the revolutionaries and help the researchers before they can take them as hostages.
>Let's teleport out of the lab and wait for Eli to plan things out as a group.
>Tell Diane to help you clear away to the upper floors, you need to get to Dr.Aspen.
>This is a bit too much for you, don't endanger your friends, teleport out and call authorities to help you deal with this mess.

Better leave those guns alone, for the time being, you really have no idea how to use them effectively, instead, you tell your mons to break them to keep them unusable, Loudred effortlessly bends them so they can no longer be shoot.

You realize Kecleon is no longer with your group, Froakie says that he let him go for a second when you told him to take the guns away from the armed group, he probably used his camouflage to blend in and hide. Froakie gets a bit defensive saying that is not his fault, he’s just following orders but you can tell he’s a bit ashamed of letting him slip.
Diane hurries you saying you got to get out of here, but you insist on staying and finding Dr. Aspen first. She tries to convince you of regrouping as it’s the safest option, but you are firm with your decision. “I can’t afford to waste any time”. Diane finally gives in to your stubbornness and agrees to help you clear a path to reach the doctor.

Your group reaches the entrance to the stairs, Diane approaches first, sneaking carefully to avoid alerting anyone, she takes a peek before returning and informing you there’s another grunt in standby guarding the stairs. Since it’s currently one of the few exits from the building they probably got a couple of men taking care of each floor.

Now, how are you going to reach the upper floors?

>Diane’s got a plan. First, you’ll disable the first guard using Prince’s Swift and her Ariados webs. Then her mons will use “Rain Dance” to get the area wet before using Manectric and Prince Thunder Wave to get everyone paralyzed. You’ll use that chance to reach the top floor. (Needs roll)
>Using her Rampardos Hyper Beam, you’ll make a hole through the ceilings and climb up using the help of your mons and Ariados web-weaving skills. The building can probably take the damage right? Diane will be fending off the revolutionaries while you climb.

Before your assault begins you notice Froakie dragging around one of the semi-automatic rifles that were laying around. “Why do you have a human weapon? ” Chastises Houndour. “It seemed cool, I mean. Useful, for our trainer ”. Huh, Froakie might have the right idea, right now you need all the firepower you can get. You tell your team that when they are done dealing with the revolutionaries, you’ll strip them of their weapons once they become immobilized and bring them along.

>You’ll get all the guns.

Prince shoots a certain-hit “Swift” to the armed man's legs knocking him to the ground. Ariados catches him with her web, quickly immobilizing him by wrapping him with thick threads of silk.

You can hear water pouring down from the direction of the stairs while the revolutionaries, confused wonder what it’s going on. Prince and Manectric move out, using Thunder Wave on the now wet grunts, the electric attack has its range increased thanks to the water on the floor and air, following closely behind, Shear and Loudred use Ice Beam and Powder Snow to try and freeze the couple of grunts who weren’t paralyzed. You are quick to identify their targets and order them to act, they move in complete harmony with your commands before you shout the words your teammates have already completed the order.

The revolutionarie's bodies become tense before hitting the floor and falling down the stairs. As you move out your team makes sure to get any gun they see, including you who have now taken one of the semi-automatic rifles. You put the weapon’s sling on your shoulder and try to figure out how to properly hold it.

[Diane]: Do you know how to use that?
A slightly concerned Diane asks.

[Percy]: Not in the slightest.

You reach the upper floor, it’s a long hall, a couple of armed men are guarding some of the doors, they have beginning to approach you after hearing the commotion. They shout ordering you to stand down but the clouds from Swellow’s “Rain Dance” already reached them, Loudred and Vulpix attack them before they can react, knocking them to the floor, freezing and trembling, Ariados webs them up to keep them from getting away.

Let's be the distraction by doing something like shooting the roof or using ROAR meanwhile have mimikyu and/or Froakie sneak by and unleash some KO canisters on the enemy.

I would write-in to have the rest of our team ready to attack the trainer, full force, if that fails, but I don't know.
Also, let's save the guns for Gareth who knows how to use them.

>Have Froakie and Mimikyu go up in the ceiling tiles with knockout grenades, disguise them with Smokescreen
>Kick down the door and have Prince set up Lightscreen in the doorway
>Drop the gas and start Swift and Shadow Clawing weaker targets once the knockout gas disapates, use Flash from behind the Lightscreen
>Loudred busts down the wall, and Shear an Houndor go in with Toxic and Powder Snow.
>Shockwave any left standing.
>Fire gun for intimidation as necessary and to get used to the firearm.
We go room by room, leave no one standing

They all have gas masks, don't bother with the KO gas. It'll just affect us. We should keep them for Vespiquen.

You enter the room and awe at the battle taking place, attacks fly incessantly through the battlefield. Balls of fire, energy beams, rocks launched at blinding speed, ravishing gusts of razor-sharp wind, bone-chilling Ice Beams. It’s chaotic, deadly, you can barely keep up with was happening as the combatants order their mons without doubting their actions for a moment. You need to take a step back to avoid getting caught in the crossfire. The room is filled with holes in the wall that let some light shine onto the devastating spectacle.

On opposite sides of the room, you see the serious Dr. Aspen, her eyes filled with a cold fury glaring at her opponent. A man of slim build, dressed in the revolutionary’s getup and fitted with a mask the resembles a Marowak’s skull. It’s the man you fought before in Madeleine village. He's attacking the doctor with a Staraptor, a Bronzong and a particularly dangerous looking Rhyperior

On one side of the rehab room, a Lapras, Serperior, and Darmatian currently in Zen mode all are protecting Doctor Aspen while following her commands. The power the three of them put in all of their moves is frightening, Lapras Ice Beam is easily thrice as big as Loudred’s and she’s able to fire them in quick, precise shots. The terrorist's Pokémon aren’t slacking either as his Staraptor masterfully dodges the attacks while diving into Serperior only to be stopped by a “Psychic” from the Darmatitian, he barely manages to get out of the way only because his trainer, CUBONE MASK noticed the attack in time.

As strong as your team currently is, they’d be in deep trouble if they got hit with one of those moves at full force, Loudred is probably the only one able to weather some hits, and even then, you have your doubts. This is a battle between trainers at an Elite 4 level.
Both sides are damaged, but Dr. Aspen’s mons seem to have the upper hand, even if it’s just by a slight margin. But the assault from the revolutionary is incessant and is wearing her team down. You get ready to give her a hand, ordering Prince and Shear to incapacitate the revolutionary.

Digging your heels on the floor you let out another ROAR, years of mimicking Poké-speech show their result as the berserk-sounding scream overtakes the cacophony of the battle happening in front of you, the improvised battleground falls silent as your ROAR dies down. CUBONE MASK’s Bronzong and Starraptor get back in their balls despite their trainer’s protest. You also scared off Dr. Aspen Lapras. The only enemy mon remaining is the Rhyperior who shakes it off and responds in kind with a roar himself, feeling challenged.
Prince tries to use “Thunder Wave” but the attack becomes redirected to Rhyperior’s horn thanks to his ability “Lighting Rod”, even though it failed, Shear’s “Confuse Ray” does the trick enrapturing the revolutionary for a moment with its glowing lights before spinning around him leaving him confused and disoriented. Cubone Mask has to take a step back and lean against a wall while holding his head in place, to avoid falling to his knees.

“Percival! Why are you here?” The doctor seems concerned by your presence “This is dangerous, get out of here!” You tell the Doc you are here to help.

“Too late, we already got the researchers and Pokémon in the lab as hostages. Now, we don’t want to hurt anyone, we just want the doctor to accompany us for a bit. But if she where to refuse, I can’t guarantee the safety of her coworker nor her patients” CUBONE MASK threatens the doctor as he tries to stand up straight, still affected by the "Confuse Ray". He struggles to do so as he falters and trembles.

[CUBONE MASK]: Now, let’s drop this charade and come with us. No one has to get hurt
[CUBONE MASK]: After all, our goals are very similar.

The doctor seems unsure of what to do next, there’s a look of concern on her face as she asks the revolutionary if he really won’t hurt anyone if she complies.

>“My friends are on their way to deal with the revolutionaries, I’ll help you take him down!” Trust your friends to deal with the Hostage situation. You and Dr. Aspen battle CUBONE MASK.
“Go help the other researchers! I’ll keep him busy.” Dr. Aspen seems really worried about the people and mons of the lab, tell her to go help them while you stall for time.
>” Alakazam! Get the doctor somewhere safe! I’ll deal with this guy”

I almost want to ask why he's here first, but that can probably wait until Rhyperior is out of the picture.
>>
I'll be honest. I just want to kill this man.
Some of you may protest that this is unlike Percy, that he would find a way to resolve this without violence.
I say that this a threat, fight or flight, and there can be no flight. In the wild, animals will fight tooth and nail until one yields or one is dead. He won't stop being a threat when he yields, he'll just come back again, and the next time we might not have the upper hand.
And why should we care if he dies? He's a violent revolutionary who isn't above using and abusing others to achieve his goals. He's a human. The same creature that abuse pokemon for their own selfish desire, killed our first friend without a second thought, isolated and humiliated us because he were different, because we didn't get it.
You can't tell me there's some part of Percy that's fine with pulling the trigger and ridding the world of one more of these disgusting creatures.
>>
>>5004711
Yeah I noticed, no I don't care. Let's not do that.
>>
>>5004711
I mean, its not like it is murder. Communists aren't people.
>>
>>5004720
Very true, but we need a public execution. Percy can just put a round in the guys knees.
>>
>>5004724
Honestly, this is better. Avoids having to evade a murder charge and the shock on part of everyone present.
>Murderous intent flares like bile rising in Percy's throat.
>A split second of hesitation brought on by thoughts of all the friends you've made along the way.
>Shoots his kneecaps instead.
>>
>>5004711
Honestly I would imagine the only thing that would get Percy to that point is if someone very close to him was in immediate danger, and only as an absolute last resort. Hell, the standoff with the Arsonist was a much closer instance of something like that and (thank Christ) we didn't end up taking the shot.

Maybe it'll come back to bite us in the ass (it will - after all, we can't save everyone), but I don't really think Percy's the kind of guy to be a killer - he's very passionate and he'll move heaven and earth to make things better for pokemon in general and his friends alike, but there's always going to be a better way of doing it, and we've almost always been able to find that way.

There's also a few other things (murdering someone in front of an Elite Four member, we hardly know how guns work so getting that shot is going to be an ask to begin with) that make it not a great move, but I think the moral aspect of it is the elephant in the room.
>>

Doctor Aspen tells her Pokémon to stand down and takes a step forward, complying with the demands of CUBONE MASK but you stop her, she tries to reason with you that she doesn’t want anybody in the lab to get hurt but you cut her off saying that your friends are here ready to help with the hostages, you trust them with this.

“We can take him out, if it’s us two he doesn’t stand a chance”, you reaffirm the doctor who’s still unsure about this.

“You are REALLY overestimating yourself kid” CUBONE MASK barks as he tries to reach for another Pokéball from his belt.

The air is thick with tension, all of your team is on edge, the Rhyperior glares at you and your team, getting ready to crush you the moment you try anything. Dr. Aspen still seems unsure about this situation, her expression is filled with worry. You guess she’s really preoccupied by her lab but you can’t realize that seeing a kid like you putting yourself in this situation makes her feel strangely guilty.

You both have a good point, but I don't want that motherfucker to get out of here in one piece.

>Have all your team attack CUBONE MASK, using weaker, quicker attacks and status-altering moves to try and restrain him
Kneecap him if we must. There's advanced Pokemon-based tech to help people get limbs back, yeah?
>>
>>5004761
I suppose, but honestly, Mimikyu is faster than all of them, and has more than enough strength to subdue him while Percy shoots him. But if Ryperior doesn't have enough firepower coming at it to prevent a reaction, not just status effects, but damage to keep it pined, it might just act.
>>

From the time we got our arm broken, Pokemon healing and medicine doesn't work as well on humans but it's still pretty damn good.
>>

Froakie uses “Smokescreen” to make himself and all of his teammates harder to see, lowering the accuracy of Rhyperior. Prince is the first to attack, behind the smoke he fries of a “Swift” that lands directly onto Rhyperior’s face. Loudred and Shear follow the direction of Prince’s attack to strike with a super-effective “Icy Wind” and “Ice Beam” buffeting their attacker, Houndour comes running out of the smoke to shoot a noxious cloud of “Toxic” poisoning the imposing rock type.

But all of this barely seems to scratch the Rhyperior, while he took some damage from the Ice attack it didn’t phase him. What caused him some real pain was the “Grass Knot” Aspen’s Darmanitan used, making him trip into the ground as thick vines coming from out the earth immobilized him long enough for Serperior to use “Leaf Storm”. Those two moves got him on a critical condition, the mon seems to stay conscious out of pure rage, how can this bastard be so durable? His Sp. Def sucks!

While the battle rages on you take aim, still unsure if you are holding the rifle correctly you take a shot and miss, the recoil is harder than you anticipated, harder than the handgun you used before, it digs into your chest in a way that makes you realize you are definitely doing it wrong. Still, you keep taking shots, another and another until you finally hit something. A Pokémon came out from his own volition out of one of CUBONE MASK´S Pokéballs. It’s a Machamp wearing a tattered luchador mask, he shields his trainer with his massive physique, steeling his body to receive the shots. It seems to damage him but not to a worrying degree.

[Machamp]: You alright chief?
He externs his worries to his trainer.

[CUBONE-MASK]: I didn’t tell you to come out.

[Machamp]: Sorry, can’t let you die here chief.

Mimikyu slithers through the battlefield during the commotion and tries to restrain CUBONE MASK with his tendrils, slashing with a toxin-covered claw trying to poison him but is intercepted by the Machamp who retaliates with a “Bullet Punch”. Mimikyu tries to evade but is no use, the Machamp’s got “No Guard”, he takes the “Toxic” straight to its face without caring for the slashing before completely pulverizing Mimikyu’s “Disguise” with a blinding fist. He catches Mimikyu with one of his free hands and throws him full speed to the wall, your mon is hurt but he can continue to fight.

>Machamp is badly poisoned.

The Rhyperior, still on the floor barely conscious starts smashing the floor in a rage, roaring viciously before calming down for a moment, shooting a barrage of rocks to the ceiling just above you, Aspen, and your teammates, making it crumble. He’s using “Rock Slide” to try and hit everyone before going down as your team keeps trying to take him down with a barrage of attacks.

The Machamp looks at you and prepares another attack. Using some incredible footwork, he closes the distance between you and him, he’s about to use another “Bullet Punch” this time on you.

>Have Prince use Light Screen to guard the Rock Slide
>Have Loudred and Shear keep firing Ice attacks at Ryperior
>Have our other Pokemon take potshots at Machamp, to get some damage in.
>Keep our gun trained on Cubone Mask too, make sure Machamp can't move without letting him get shot.

Aspen can do what she wants while that goes on

Instead of Light Screen. I thought wrong with that move.

If you take a conglomeration of everyone's votes, it looks like:
>Call for help, have one of your mons come back to aid.
>Froakie, Substitute
>Get all of your team back in their Pokéballs to avoid the Rock Slide, try to take cover.
There doesn't seem to be consensus beyond that.

Before the “Rock Slide” makes short work of your team you scream for everyone to fall back and get into their Pokéballs to avoid the attack, as they all run towards you tell Froakie to get ready to use substitute and help you out.
As the Machamp approaches ready to beat the SHIT out of you, Froakie hops towards you as fast as he can, he tries to maintain his cool but you can tell he’s incredibly tense. He manages to reach you avoiding the falling debris before Machamp can cave your skull in. But “Bullet Punch” has “priority”, you feel a blow in your stomach, it’s painful, like a truck at top speed hitting you. You feel as if the blow pierced your body, and you can tell he’s holding back, he could have easily killed you there.

Before your attacker can continue his assault Froakie puts his small amphibious body between you and the Fighting-type just as he prepares to throw his punch. Suddenly a cloud of smoke covers Froakie’s body and a chunk of debris takes your new teammate's place, this is quickly pulverized by Machamp’s punch.

You fall to your knees and proceed to vomit all over the floor. Your puke is stained with crimson red drops of blood, you can’t breathe, you can’t do anything but hunch over from the pain. You only kept conscious from your resistance to pain. Froakie is by your side seeing you in a pool of semi-digested food, gastric juices, and blood. He cannot keep his calm and collected facade any longer, he’s freaking out.

The moment you are able to move again you look around desperately for cover, you see a pile of rubble you could use, without thinking you grab Froakie, shield him with your body as you scream to him to get into his damn ball, dive headfirst into the rubble and brace for impact.

The ceiling falls onto you but Aspen makes her Serperior shield you, her mon receives the brunt of the impact. Her Darmanitan finishes off the Rhyperior with another “Grass knot”, the vines that trapped the heavy mon grow bigger and thicker as they constrict him, pinning him down onto the floor and choking him until the beast passes out. Then she lets out a third Pokémon, a Reuniculus who attacks the Machamp with a “Psychic” to keep his attention away from you-

Aspen looks at you, seemingly irate, and screams in an uncharacteristic tone. “Go somewhere safe!”

>” I’m staying” let your team out once more and aid her in the battle.
>” I can’t let him get away” let your team out and rush CUBONE MASK while Aspen deals with the Machamp.
>” Sorry” call Alakazam so he can teleport you out of here.
>” Alright, but I’m going to help the hostages” return to the lower floors and help your friends with the hostage situation.

Aspen has bigger chances to catch the guy than us, maybe convince her to pursue him while we and her Reuniclus handle the mons. Or we could do something else.

You won't let him get away.

Ignoring Dr. Aspen's warning you stand up back again and tell the woman you aren't going to let this guy escape.

The adrenaline coursing through your body makes you able to ignore the pain from Machamp's blows. Releasing your team once again, ordering them to take down the revolutionary, everyone starts to rush towards the terrorist with you running behind them still holding the rifle.

The masked fighter tries to intercept you but he's too busy dealing with Aspen's mons who are currently attacking from every angle as he tries his best to withstand the Psychic attacks while trying to counter with his own moves.

"Alakazam!" You scream to get his attention and telepathically request some backup. You get a mental confirmation from your friend and not a second later he teleports inside the room alongside Eli. The punkish trainer seems to have been roughed up and is a bit disoriented, you shout that you need her help to restrain the trainer and without any more explanation she lets out all of her team and commands them to join your assault “Sic ‘em!”. With a snap of her finger, Feraligator, Salazzle, Doublade, Trubbish, Krokorok who all seem exhausted to different degrees, start to move towards the trainer.

CUBONE MASK is still suffering from the effects of the Confuse Ray but is starting to have his mind clear a bit as he stops swaying from side to side and manages to stand on his own. Still, he doesn’t notice you and your team hurrying towards him with the intention of trashing his ass. Just as your team prepares to attack another Pokémon comes out from the terrorist´s Pokéball. A Scizor who seems pissed to all hell, he wastes no time setting up a “Light Screen” to shield his trainer and prepares to take your team head-on.

> Run past Scizor as he is distracted by the assault and try to bash CUBONE MASK's head with the rifle.
>Have your team attack CUBONE MASK while Eli’s Pokémon keep Scizor distracted.
>Have Alakazam teleport you near CUBONE MASK and try to wrestle him into the ground.

You call everyone to stop the assault and focus on Scizor, you are about to engage in battle, you call Mimikyu and Froakie back to you to heal their injuries since they are the most battered mons in your team, but the only healing items you have are Max Revives and one Oran berry. Eli throws you a bag full of various Super Potion and tells you to hurry up and heal her mons as well.

>Mimikyu and Froakie are at full health!
>Eli’s team has regained some health.

CUBONE MASK finally seems to have snapped from his confusion, he seems to panic for a moment when he sees that Scizor has come out of his Pokéball and order his Pokémon to fall back and get out of here, he grabs another Pokéball from his belt, most likely containing one of those Claydoll the revolutionaries use to teleport around but he’s unable to call him out, as he drops the ball in pain after Eli uses her stupidly strong throwing arm to send flying a piece of debris directly unto the revolutionary’s hand. He curses as the ball goes rolling on the floor. With his escape route cut short the terrorist looks at Scizor as if he were to ask him something, the Pokémon simply nods and assumes a battle position, opening one of his claws to reveal a small round gem which starts to produce a blinding light, as the Pokémon shape starts to change, metallic growths protruding of his body as if it were a suit of organic armor and his claws become bigger and fiercer.

>Scizor is mega-evolving.

Please consider the situation more carefully.

Alright anons, I'm gonna call it off here. We'll be wrapping this little shitshow up next Friday. October 1st with some combat and some consequences.

I'm not gonna post this weekend since I got some IRL stuff to deal with. Hopefully, I'll be able to put more time into writing after that.

Thanks for stopping by anons. See ya.
>>
>>5006126
Be honest with us, Medicore.
How bad is it?
The fight, not the IRL stuff, although I do hope everything will fine for you.
Also, how is everyone feeling? Froakie seemed geuninely disturbed by Percy's roar and the obliteration of his internal organs.
>>
>>5006045
Lets do these
>>5006054
>>5006078
>>5006080
And if Mimikyu succeeds,
>Open fire on Cubone Mask with the gun
>>5006126
Good luck with the IRL stuff.

Did Eli notice how rough Percy is? Boy must look like some crazed Vet like Gramps with a thousand yard stare right now. Is Aspen thinking Percy is just batshit insane? Is Froakie sufficiently humbled by his trainer being dead hard, and willing to push himself as hard as his Pokemon? Is Percy going to be forced to relax after this, even though it really isn't viable? Will we ever get to go workout in the Human Gym properly to get swole like a proper child soldier?
>>
>>5006129
Honestly, not bad, you'd made some decent calls and put the Revolutionaries against the ropes, but this is a situation that could easily spiral out of control in more than one unexpected way so it has me feeling pretty excited and giddy.

Also.
>How is everyone feeling?

>Froakie
Despite his cold and callous attitude, he's having a hard time not freaking out, this is definitely NOT what he expected on his first day as your Pokémon. Right now he's just been hit with the realization that a bad call, a missed move, or just a plain mistake could mean the death of him or the others. On a side note, he thinks guns are cool.

>Mimikyu
While this sort of dangerous situation is what he has come to expect from you he's still a bit disappointed that you rushed in and didn't prepare a bit more beforehand. He'll chew you out later for this, but right now he just doing everything in his power to try and keep you alive.
He won't lose a "Master" ever again

>Shear the Vulpix
Initially super excited for today since she got a nickname and a new weaker teammate to tease and bully. She honestly just wants some attention. She has a bit of a disconnected sense of reality because of living on the remains of the "White Room" for most of her life so she doesn't really grasp the whole gravity of the situation, while she knows this is serious since you got hurt and everyone is so tense, she still believes this chaotic altercation is just "Normal human stuff", still she tries to prove herself useful

>Loudred
Completely focused on the battle at hand, ready to do anything to make sure her teammates/family doesn't get hurt. She's ready to unleash all of her power but is starting to realize the difference between her strength and the ones at the level of an Elite-4, this won't stop her though, instead, it motivates her to give it her all to keep everyone safe, even if it kills her. Worried about Froakie in particular.

>Houndour.
Honestly, he would have preferred for you to plan this better or just avoid putting everyone in danger, while he trust your judgment, after seeing the strength of Aspen and CUBONE MASK mons he's feeling very out of his depth and believes that you don't realize just how underprepared you are in terms of raw strength. He believes you are biting more than you can chew. Still, he'll back you up until the end.

>Prince
He was feeling pretty good after his Thunder Wave proved very useful to deal with the revolutionaries and seeing everything go so smoothly, while he understands the gravity of the situation he thought you'd be able to guide them through it with absolutely no problem! He trusts his pa. Still, he's just barely not freaking out after seeing the battle between Aspen and CUBONE MASK, realizing all of your team barely did a dent on the Rhyperior. He's a bit scared and hopes that your team and Eli's are strong enough to fend off the Scizor, he believes they may not be able to defeat it but he trusts that you got something planned
>>
>>5006148
>but this is a situation that could easily spiral out of control in more than one unexpected way so it has me feeling pretty excited and giddy.
Ah yes, the power of bad rolls, courtesy of 4chan. I'm just glad we got a lot of 90+ rolls to get this far. 117 as a roll was just gold. Oh yeah, is Diane still with us? Is she seeing the shit Percy is doing?
>Despite his cold and callous attitude, he's having a hard time not freaking out, this is definitely NOT what he expected on his first day as your Pokémon. Right now he's just been hit with the realization that a bad call, a missed move, or just a plain mistake could mean the death of him or the others. On a side note, he thinks guns are cool.
Hmm, kinda feel bad, but on the other hand, I have the strangest feeling he is going to act like Shadow the Hedgehog, and would have been irreconcilably bored if shit didn't hit the fan so hard it snapped. Fucking Muks.

>he's still a bit disappointed that you rushed in and didn't prepare a bit more beforehand. He'll chew you out later for this, but right now he just doing everything in his power to try and keep you alive.
In our defense, we we're doing pretty good, the surprise Machamp gut punching us after rushing down Ryperior was just bad luck.
>All of Shear
She really is a silly girl, but I'm worried about where her head is.
>Loudred
Best Pokedaughter we could ask for really. She needs a name. She more than deserves it. If we can still eat solid foods right after this battle ends, we'll work out properly with her as she trains.
>Prince
Poor sweet eggy boy. We'll do our best. Lets just hope Percy doesn't pop a lung with a broken rib.

I got some plans but we need these two to do it.
1. A Mega-Scizor might be a bit too strong for our ROAR, but maybe 3 Roars at once could do the trick.
2.Swords Dance is perfect bait for STAB Foul Play, couple that with Screech and you got a dead Scizor. Alternatively, Mimikyu can also do copy this.
BTW, give our Babiri berries to Mimikyu and Shear, it will save their lives.
>>
>>5006148
How about the others?

>>5006145
>Did Eli notice how rough Percy is?
Of course, she did, that intense look he gets whenever things seem to get serious is one of the first things that got her interested in him. She also noticed your torn shirt and bruised body and face, she’d be both worried and a bit turned on if she weren’t in the middle of the battle.

> Is Aspen thinking Percy is just batshit insane?
Partially. She’s mostly worried at his apparent lack of self-preservation and feels guilty thinking that you ended up involved in this mess because of her and the lab. You remind her of some of her traumatized Pokémon patients and that makes her heart sink.
> Is Froakie sufficiently humbled by his trainer?

He’s still in the middle of processing all the shit that’s going down, one thing is for sure, he realized there’s more than meets the eye regarding Percy.

Working out at the gym and relaxing is still up in the air depending on how this ends.

>>5006156
>is Diane still with us? Is she seeing the shit Percy is doing?
She went to help Eli and Gareth with the hostage situation so she didn't see this. Still, she's surprised at how quickly you seemingly adapted to the situation. She tried to make "rescuing hostages" another competition between Eli and her but the pink-haired trainer chewed her out and demanded her to take the situation more seriously.

>Gareth
With the help of Diane and his mons they booby-trapped the whole building using all manners of silk threads slathered with Stun Spores and other stat altering substances. His team manage to subdue a couple of revolutionaries and the college dropout using his marksmanship training and gun knowledge managed to non-lethally take down another batch of grunts and make some stand down. Despite the guns they seemed to not expect a gunfight.

>Alakazam.
Really tense, he’s still in the room with you ready to act as an escape route the moment you call for it , he’s also mentally checking on the others on the lower floors in case things go awry.

>Dick
After a heated discussion online with a dumb philistine who could not recognize a good magical-girl anime if it hit it on its face, he and Aleida went to fulfill a request from archeologist Henry Ford, the three of them went to visit the underground bunker that you found yesterday. There’s no signal down there so he couldn’t receive Eli’s call for help.

>Aleida
Acting as a translator for the Pokémon in the underground bunker has started to ignore calls and missions from the revolutionaries and has been spending some more time with Dick. Got some of her closest Poké-friends out of the revolutionaries’ hideout and is now traveling with more mons, lately, Dick’s been teaching her about history outside of Aztlan, she seems genuinely interested in the topic.

>Kali
With nothing left to do in Ceniceros she and Jeanne moved towards the capital, High Alva city, she went shopping for TMs and Held items for Shinji the Espurr and ended up spending the rest of the day with her team, getting them held items and amenities alongside Jeanne. She got to relax for a bit and lost track of time, when she saw Eli’s distress messages and calls she started to freak out and started to look for a way to teleport back to Ceniceros as fast as possible. She’s the only one who actually called authorities to check on the lab

>Jeanne
After a nasty argument online with a complete asshole who kept insulting her favorite magical girl anime, she decided to accompany Kali on her shopping and take a day off from exorcising things and worrying about you and the Arsonist. She got to hang out with Kali and get to know each other a bit better. Can’t stop herself from treating Shinji the Espurr as a teddy bear, hugging and cuddling him whenever she gets the chance, her Mareep is a bit jealous.

>Arsonist

Oh Dr Aspen, Percy is only slightly dumb from bloodloss, and the concussion, and some broken ribs, and the concussion, and the concussion.

>He’s still in the middle of processing all the shit that’s going down, one thing is for sure, he realized there’s more than meets the eye regarding Percy.
Well that's good, the edgy types like that need, tips hat, fellow badasses to teach them. So long as he doesn't ask for a Harley and a Desert Eagle, it's fine. Or paint himself black and red!

That's just how the dice roll, doesn't matter how great the plan if the dice want it to fail. And everytime we get ready for R&R, we got another time sensitive mission to get done. But doing Ford's stuff in the hospital room should be fine.
>>
>>5006344
Yeah, we have to take the pedal off the medal before we end up seriously hurting ourselves - again. Hopefully with both Cubone Mask (assuming we get him here) and the Arsonist out of the picture for the time being, we'll have that chance, but knowing us we'll dive right into White Veil business later today.
>>
>>5006644
We didn't exactly have a lot of choice here. Percy's not at fault for an armed assault on a building he happened to be in.
>>
>>5006654
That much is true, but I do think that we went into the zone of 'too hot' when we decided to go directly after Cubone Mask, even after giving Dr. Aspen a pretty good advantage of handling things herself with our opening move. From there we probably could have cleaned up the rest of the revolutionaries and helped out the hostages with the others - Cubone Mask would have lost his main bargaining chip, and we (probably, you know how dice are) wouldn't have gotten beaten up nearly as bad as we are right now. I dunno, maybe it's hindsight talking but I do feel we still got a bit too aggressive and are currently punching above our weight here, but that's never really stopped us from succeeding at it in the past.
>>
>>5006667
Oh I agree that we went too far with the follow up but Percy isn't the type to abandon someone either.
