You are Blair d’Rusalka. Student at the Garreg Mach Officer’s Academy, Dark Flier, and an Officer of the Black Eagles House. You were sent to the Academy by your guardian, Count Charles d’Rusalka, to undergo training and become a Knight in his service. After attending the White Heron Ball and experiencing your first kiss, what should have been a calm and relaxing end to the school year was turned upside down. Monica, a fellow student at the academy, reveals herself to be in-league with Solon and the same group that attacked Remire Village.

She kidnapped your friends Martha and Xavier and lured you into a trap. After toying with you for days, she left you for dead at the hands of a Demonic Beast. You were saved by the timely intervention of Corrine and Kate, but unfortunately, Monica’s twisted schemes had cost Martha and Xavier their lives.

Returning to the Monastery with vengeance on your mind, you are heartened to hear that Monica’s whereabouts have been located. The traitor is hiding nearby, in a place known as the Sealed Forest. While she’s likely waiting to spring another trap, nothing will stop you from taking her down. You join a strike force of Black Eagles students, led by Professor Byleth, intent on bringing Monica to justice.

>“Thank you, everyone. We’ll see this through, for Martha and Xavier.” You put your hand out towards your friends. Ashe, Corrine and Kate place theirs on top of yours. With your friends pledging their support behind you, you’re surer than ever that Monica doesn’t stand a chance.

The Sealed Forest is but a short distance away from the Monastery. Had you headed out with the usual entourage from the Knights of Seiros and the Church, it would have taken you far longer to arrive at your destination. However, the force you’ve joined numbers around only 20, all of them volunteers from the Black Eagles. At the helm of the group is Professor Byleth. Monica’s actions cost the Professor her father, and you can only imagine that your teacher is even more eager than you are to bring the girl down. After half a day’s brisk march, you find yourself at your destination.

“We are now within the Sealed Forest.” Hubert announces. “No one let their guard down. If the intel we received is accurate, Monica is further ahead, with an unidentified group.”

“Blair? Can you take to the skies and give us an aerial view of what we’re up against?” The Professor asks you

>You nod to the Professor and take flight on Beathan. High above, you can make out a clearing further ahead in the forest. You move closer to it, taking care to avoid any oncoming arrows from any enemy archers that may spot you. Sure enough, as you get closer, you’re able to spot figures further down below. It’s hard to make out too much from detail from the skies, but there’s about twelve humanoid looking figures milling about down below. What catches your eyes though, are the larger blobbed shapes you see. There’s three of them, and if you had to guess, they’re likely Demonic Beasts. You return back to the others and inform them of what you saw.

“I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised she has more of those things with her.” Edelgard says with a hint of distaste. “Likely made from those unfortunate to have run into her after she fled. This stops now. Black Eagles, get ready to move out!”

After a bit of preparation and checking over your gear, the strike force makes their way into the Sealed Forest, towards the clearing Monica and her cronies are currently inhabiting. As you all inch closer, Monica’s voice booms and echoes through the forest, propelled by the same type of magic Bishop Santiago used during a battle that feels like a lifetime ago.

“Hello! You’re here!” Monicas voice cries cheerfully. Your clench your fist at the sound. “Welcome to my forest of death! It’s so good of you to stop by!”

“Monica! Get out here!” The Professor yells.

“Sorry, but that’s not my name. I simply borrowed this weakling’s look. My real name is Kronya! And for the short amount of time you have left, don’t forget it!”

“Kronya?” Dorothea mutters. “So, it’s just like how Solon was pretending to be Tomas. Just what the hell is going on?”

“Don’t know, don’t care. We can get out answers after we kill these bastards.” Caspar declares.

>“The forest up ahead is thick, but there’s two ways to get to where Moni-uhh…Kronya…is standing. We can cut either through the north or west. Either way, we’ll have to contend with the Demonic Beasts.” You inform the Professor and Edelgard.

“We’ll go north, while covering our rear.” The Professor says. “No use in standing around waiting to get pincered. Blair, you’re our aerial bombardment. Rain down your magic from above while we engage. Choose your targets carefully and watch out for the enemy snipers. Otherwise, fire at will.”

>“Understood!”

You take flight and survey the battlefield. There are snipers on both sides it seems, and either one could likely take you out in one shot if you aren’t careful. As the Black Eagles begin to move, you think on what your first action will be.

A well-placed arrow from an experienced archer is enough to bring down even the most seasoned of Pegasus Knights. Narrowing your eyes ahead and fixating on your target, you resolve to not allow the foe the opportunity. Unsheathing the stave strapped to your back, you call forth a surge of magic. You’d only practiced the incantations for Bolting, but you’ve yet to have the opportunity to try out the destructive spell. Clouds form from on up high, and an ominous, rumbling sound echoes across the forest. Ordinarily, flying a Pegasus during a thunderstorm would be a foolhardy endeavor, but you’re the one in control here. Raising your hand to the sky and focusing all of your attention on the speck you’ve chosen in the distance, you summon forth a bolt of lightning from on high, that shoots forward towards the doomed archer.

As the bolt descends from the sky towards your target, the enemy scrambles to get out of the way. While your target’s compatriots are successful, the archer himself is less than so. A loud boom and an explosion are the signs that the spell was a success. Dust is kicked up on-high, and a large crater is left in the earth where the spell made contact.

>Critical Hit! 20xp gained! (30/100) (Bolting: 1 / 2)

You take note of your work. Bolting is a rarity amongst combat mages. The spell is only taught to those with top marks from either the Officer’s Academy or the Fhirdiad Academy of Sorcery, under the tutelage of a skilled mage such as Professor Hanneman. Whoever these bastards were, they would soon learn what it meant to go up against elite caliber Black Eagles.

From down below, your allies charge forward, Edelgard and Professor Byleth leading the way as the vanguard against the Demonic Beast up front. The beast is the same type as the one you saw back at the Chapel, likely turned from another human. While it appears ferocious, it struggles to keep up with an enraged Professor, doubly so when she’s wielding the Sword of the Creator. She singlehandedly occupies the beast, while the students behind her pepper it with ranged attacks and work on dealing with the strange, black-armored men accompanying it.

From the west, the enemy begins making their way towards the Black Eagles. You have the option to pepper them up with some magic before they contact your backline. You’re certainly feeling confident after that Bolting. Alternatively, you can focus on what’s ahead of you. Besides the enemy’s your friends are currently engaged with, you have a feeling that there may me an ambush waiting further ahead.

“Blair? Was that you? You seem mad…is everything okay?” Kronya's mocking voice calls out.

The Demonic Beast is on its last legs, but that doesn’t mean you can’t help send it to hell. Channeling forth another burst of magic, you summon another thunderstrike towards the large target. The spell doesn’t carry as much weight or power as your Bolting did, but from this high up and against an already wounded foe, its more than enough to finish off the beast. As it reels on its hind legs from a blow received by the Professor’s hand, your spell connects, frying the beast and putting an end to it.

>40xp gained! (70/100) (Thunder: 4 / 5)

The Black Eagles finish off the remainder of the enemy they were engaged with, just in time for the ones charging in on the west side to connect with them. The second Demonic Beast crashes in first, being held off by the combined strength of Caspar, Corrine and Ferdinand. Behind it, four more armed men are making their way towards them, one of whom is another Sniper. Finally, taking the rear is a third Demonic Beast, snarling all the way.

“Are you all still hanging back there? Ugh, honestly! If this takes too long, I might be forced to escape!” Kronya’s voice echoes through the forest. “Or are you too scared to come back here and face me? Well don’t worry, I have no intention of letting any of you leave this forest alive!”

What an annoying bitch. You know Kronya is up north, flanked by two soldiers, but it would be far too dangerous to go up ahead and take her out yourself. Additionally, there’s still the possibility that there are hidden troops within the forest area. You’ve been given the order to fire at will. How do you proceed from here?

This whole thing has trap written all over it, and you’re painfully aware of how devious that woman can be. Your friends can handle themselves for the time being. You begin moving forward, flying over the forest in front of you and peering below, looking out for any movement. For a while you don’t see anything, until suddenly, an arrow bursts out of the trees, only narrowly missing Beathan by a hair. Pulling your steed up further in the sky, you glance down at where the arrow came from, noticing activity below by the trees. It looks like your feeling paid off, Kronya was indeed looking to set an ambush.

You glance towards where your friends are currently fighting. Professor Byleth has managed to badly wound the second Demonic Beast, allowing your comrades to deal with the enemy infantry. Whoever these bastards are, they’re tough. Despite being outnumbered, they’re able to hold their own against the best of the Black Eagles. While your comrades should be able to get through them in theory, the presence of these ambush soldiers may complicate matters.

Getting to the ground to warn the Professor about the oncoming soldiers is one option, though given the current circumstances and how close the enemy is, you may not make it in time. Suddenly though, a thought grips your head. An idea you had from one of the many classes on battlefield strategy you’ve taken. Using the fire magic that you’re able to conjure, you may be able to partially set the forest below you ablaze, stifling the enemy ambush soldiers. With the right touch, timing and quantity of magic, you may be able to seriously damage, if not outright kill them, while limiting any collateral damage.

If you mess up though, you may just set fire to the entire Sealed Forest.

“How are you guys doing over there? Still alive?” Kronya calls out. “Don’t give up before I get to have my own fun!”

You focus intently on the forest below you. You can make out the shadow of the enemy within, moving together in one cohesive unit. Now that you’ve discovered them, they likely intend to crash against the Black Eagles main forces before you can give off a warning. Unfortunately for them, they’re far too late. Gathering up the magic necessary, you summon two fireballs, circling the tip of your staff. You infuse them with the necessary energy but are careful not to go overboard. You’re attempting a controlled burn, not a forest fire, after all. The sniper below doesn’t bother you during this endeavor, allowing you the preparation and precision you need to ensure you don’t mess this up. Once you’re ready, you launch the fireballs towards your target, intent on sending the enemy below to hell.

The twin fireballs collide down into the forest with a large explosion. The magic infusing the fire, combined with the woods below, will ensure a steady and powerful blaze that will engulf those below, but not spread out to the surrounding forest where your friends are. You’re too far high in the sky to hear anything resembling screams, but watching the flames below, you’re certain you hit your mark. As you hover above the forest admiring your handiwork, sure enough, two bodies emerge from the tree line. Both look badly burnt, and don’t appear to have any of their friends joining them.

At the front of the fighting, the second Demonic Beast lays dead on the ground, with the third currently being worked on by the Professor. You’d heard that before she became a teacher, during her time as a mercenary, she was known as the Ashen Demon. Watching her fighting from above, you get where the name comes from. The enemy is being pushed back, and a squad of Black Eagles, composed of Petra, Lindhardt, Corrine, Caspar and Ferdinand are now moving further into the forest, towards where Kronya is waiting.

“Thank you for the fire. It will serve well to burn your corpses after we’re finished here.” Kronya taunts.

Those students are heading straight towards Kronya, and you’re not going to miss your chance to get a piece of her. The way she’s fighting, the Professor should require no additional help when it comes to wiping out the enemy in front of her. You join the unit of Black Eagles, providing them cover from above.

“Oh, I’m glad SOMEONE finally made it up here!” Kronya says. “You aren’t the ones I was hoping for, but a little warm-up wouldn’t hurt. Well, who am I kidding? It’s gonna hurt you a whole lot!”

>“Goddess, she never shuts up.” You say to no one in particular. Flanking her are two nasty looking mages, clad in robes that reveal nothing of their identity. Just who the hell are these guys? As your group nears the enemy, the two mages begin making their way towards you. While one seems focused on the five Black Eagles up ahead, the other turns his attention towards you. Couldn’t expect to go unscathed forever, you suppose.

The mage turns his hands up towards you, and from them, a swarm of flies seem to spontaneously appear out of thin air around you. The bloodsucking creatures do their best to devour you and Beathan, painfully latching on to the both of you.

(Enemy: 20+4=24 Mag – 16 Res = 8 DMG, Blair 39/47 HP, -5 SPD for one Turn)

Gritting your teeth, you conjure flames to burn the creatures off, before retaliating with your own magic, launching two fireballs at the cloaked figure. Both spells connect with the man, who seemingly shrugs off the magic with his superior resistance. Before he can counterattack though, his head is split in by the timely appearance of Caspar. You notice your friends have already dealt with the other mage. Kronya meanwhile, has stayed still in the back, watching disinterestedly.

>10 XP gained! (50/100)

Your friends face Kronya, weapons brandished, but none of them move in for the attack. You get a good look at the woman who was masquerading as Monica for the first time. She looks human…but not quite. There’s something remarkably uncanny about her. Whether it’s her skin color, which is far paler than you’ve ever seen on another human, or the strange material her outfit seems to be made of, there’s something odd about her. Odd, and extremely dangerous. You got a firsthand taste at how quick and deadly the girl was back at the Abandoned Chapel, but seeing her now, you get the feeling she’s far worse than she was letting on.

“So, who’s first?” She asks.

>“Don’t engage! Stay on your guard and fall back!” You yell to your comrades, flying closer to the ground to back up your friends. While they currently have Kronya surrounded, none of them seem to go in and to make the first move. As they begin taking small steps back, Kronya moves forward.

“What, don’t tell me you’re getting cold feet?” Kronya says. At her side is a wickedly sharp, curved dagger, which appears to be made from a familiar looking black material you know all too well. “If that’s the case, I’ll just come to you!”

Kronya moves with that same blinding speed you recall from before. Had any of your friends turned their back to run from her, they’d have barely made it a few steps before being skewered. Fortunately, they heeded your words, and were able to dig in to ready themselves for the girl’s reckless rush forward. Kronya clashes blades with Petra and Ferdinand first. Despite outnumbering her, it takes all their skill just to block her attacks. You haven’t seen anyone, not even the Professor, move quite as fast as this woman.

“Out of the way!” Caspar yells, swinging his axe in an overhead strike, only to hit the ground Kronya was just standing on.

“Too slow!” Blocking a stab from Petra with her dagger, she uses her free leg to acrobatically kick Caspar in the face, sending the boy reeling. She continues to trade blows with Petra, pushing the Brigid Princess on the defensive. Ferdinand attempts to join the fray again, but in a move that you’re only barely able to catch with your eye, Ferdinand falls to the ground in a heap, clutching a bloody wound in his stomach. As he falls, Corrine takes his place, helping to keep Petra from being overwhelmed.

“This isn’t good, Ferdinand’s hurt bad!” Linhardt exclaims. “Blair! You need to pull him out of there before he bleeds out!”

Easier said than done. This is already turning into quite the mess. But Linhardt is right, if you don’t act now, someone is going to die for sure. Kronya won’t just let you drag the boy out though. If you’re too slow, you’ll put yourself in harm’s way.

Live you son of a bitch, you're one of the better BE's!
Also holy shit Rally Spectrum actually getting potential use, might be the key to Kronya's defeat if we use it on Byleth as an example.

Beathan launches forward, towards the unconscious figure of Ferdinand. While in the middle of fighting her opponents, Kronya manages to catch what you’re doing out of the corner of your eye and disengages from her foes.

“Not so fast!” She dashes towards your goal, intent on cutting you off. With her dagger outstretched, she attempts to finish the job she started on the boy. Despite her impressive speed though, this time she’s just a second short. You scoop Ferdinand and then shoot upwards in a mad flight, just as her dagger comes down where the boy was laying.

>10xp gained! (50/100)

“Eughhhh…” You hear Ferdinand groan on Beathan’s back.

>“Hang on! We’ll get you patched up.” You reassure him, as you land directly in front of Lindhardt and help the boy off. Lindhardt wastes no time in summoning the white magic at his disposal, rapidly closing the wound Ferdinand received. As you turn back to where Kronya is, she’s once again being pushed back by the combined forces of Petra and Corrine, as well as Caspar, who’s recovered from the blow that he took earlier. Despite outnumbering her three to one though, they’re clearly struggling to keep up.

>“Will you two be alright here?”

“We should be fine, but they won’t if you don’t get in there and do something!” Lindhardt responds.

He doesn’t need to tell you twice. You’ve been dreaming about nothing but paying Kronya back for weeks. She’s finally right in front of you, and you have no intention of backing down. She may be tougher and faster than all of you, but you’ve fought with those three students closely for a year now and developed a deep bond with them. Working together, even Kronya would be unable to stand against a unified front. Spurring Beathan towards the Assassin, you prepare to launch a unison attack on her.

Kronya has been battling with your friends for some time now, each of whom are sporting some sort of cut or wound. Kronya herself meanwhile, has yet to be even touched by their blows. A fact that you seek to change as you rush headlong to join the fray. Unsheathing your Silver Lance, you extend it out to catch the woman. While she is backstepping out of the way of a vicious slash from Caspar, she catches you out of the corner of her eye. She’s able to dodge the boy with no problem, but she finds herself in for a rude awakening when it comes to you. Your spear tip connects with her hand. She attempts to move the weapon away, but is unsuccessful, and the blade pierces right through.

>34 ATK + 5 Lancefaire + 4 Fiery Blood – 22 DEF = 21 DMG. Kronya: 51/72 HP)

The woman screams as she clutches her hand, snarling in your direction. “Very sneaky, Blair! Let’s see how you like it!”

Dashing forward, she jumps at the last second towards you before you can get out of the way or raise your weapon in defense, delivering a slash to your shoulder.

>Crit Roll: Miss!
>33 ATK – 16 DEF = 17 DMG. Blair: 22/47 HP)

>15 XP Gained! (65/100)

Gritting your teeth as the blood flows freshly out of your wound, you try stabbing at Kronya again, who dances in and out of the way of your spear.

“Pathetic! It’s no wonder you couldn’t save your friends!” She taunts you. “You’ll just have to apologize to them yourselves when you get to-“

Whether because she feels rage from you having managed to hurt her, or whether it’s because she’s a sadist, Kronya is entirely focused on you. Dodging and clashing with your spear has consumed all her attention, enough for your battered friends to surround her. Kronya is none the wiser when she suddenly finds herself battering rammed by a combined strike from Caspar and Corrine. The two of them send the woman flying to land hard on the ground away from you. As she struggles to get up, Petra is already on top of her, delivering a flurry of brutal stabs to the body. She gets several hits in, before being kicked off by Kronya.

“D-damn it! You think you’re clever, don’t you?” Kronya seethes, clutching her various wounds.

“She’s still standing. Just what the hell is she?!” An exasperated Corrine asks.

“Whatever she is, she’s badly hurt! This is our chance to finish her off!” Caspar yells, as he charges in.

“Caspar! Wait!” You yell, but it’s too late.

Shouting a battle cry, Caspar raises his axe prepared to finish off the wounded Kronya. Before he can make contact though, you catch a smirk on the woman’s face as she slides underneath his outstretched strike, wrapping an arm around the boy’s neck and turning him around to face you. At his neck lies Kronya’s sharp dagger, ready to strike.

>Kronya activates Vantage (When under attack, strike first if HP is below 50%)

“No sudden moves! Drop your weapons now, and this little brat may just get to live!” Kronya shouts.

“Don’t listen to he-!” Caspar calls out to you, but Kronya chokes him off. Using her dagger, she draws a thin line across his neck, releasing a trickle of blood.

“Hurry up! And make your decision!”

“Blair…what to do?” A worried Petra asks.

>A): Drop your weapons
>B): Try to buy time for the Professor to arrive. (What do you do/say?)

oh shit oh fuck
>A): Drop your weapons
Okay, we have magic and a pegasus, so even without our weapons we could still like ram into her IF she releases Caspar, that's an idea I have but i'm hoping to hear other ones.

Thunder attacks from above, so it should mostly hit Kronya and not Caspar if we casted it. Bolting might also work purely from a grid/game standpoint, but since Kronya is holding him, I think Caspar will take at least some damage either way. There still is the issue of if Kronya's vantage would activate for her to kill Caspar, but since we're attacking her and not Caspar, it might not.

>B): Try to buy time for the Professor to arrive. (What do you do/say?)
Prepare to cast bolting. She just made herself very stationary and thus an easy target, and we should make her *very* aware of that. I don't trust for a second she won't try to slit Caspar's throat as she makes to escape, but if we can put full attention on ourselves it opens up for someone to flank her while we have our standdown.
